I think Cheese might be bigger than the world of speedrunning at this point. I got hip 2 him b4 I got into the world of speedrunning myself. I say that humbly with all respect to the community

What a run! Suigi is a really good speedrunner, but he's such a perfectionist. As you mentioned any slight time loss was clearly a let down for him even when it was barely noticeable. Really happy for him though, he's got a lot of WRs.

I think this speaks to Cheese's point at the end. I'd love to see Suigi run 70 and 120, and if he does that's amazing, but the mindset is so different for them (particularly 120), it's such a long slog, with 120 chances to mess up a star. Perfectionism will kill you. Simply fell off the sub during DDD100 when he got WR, Cheese's PB is riddled with backup strats, Weegee and Liam (currently 1st and 2nd) both have a missed third bowser throw. The category is brutal.

Weegee is a perfectionist 16 star runner and is known for quitting insane paces after a mistake. Still got WR really quick. Maybe the same would apply for greensuigi.

Wow! If you read the description, the greatest Mario 64 runner of all time hints at GreenSuigi becoming the greatest of all time. That’s the highest of praise. Although, the man, the myth, the legend, Cheese will still be considered the greatest of all time until many years go by and he hasn’t reclaimed the record, while also having the same or more consistent records being broken or held by one single runner. Until then, Cheese is still the 🐐!!

I don't remember which, might have been a japanese runner lol Also @@cheesespeedrunningyt you say in this video that you couldn't do 16, I think you did it pretty damn well. I dare even say it probably even improved your 120 game by giving you a few more options to adjust for pace, which speaks to your insane talent

You should react to his 0 Star and 1 Star world records too. In 70 Star, he is like 27 seconds off (47:13 compared to 46:56 by Benji64) But in 120 Star, he is more than 21 minutes behind (1:58:59 compared to 1:37:35). I recently encouraged him to gun for the 70 Star and 120 Star categories, which means you have way more competition than usual, Cheese.

3:30 iPhone 2G referred to the data network it ran off of. 2G data speeds were very slow, like low end dial-up modem for PC.

OH MY GOD CHEESE UPLOADED, I LITERALLY WATCHED ALMOST EVERY SINGLE SIMPLY VIDEO WHILE WAITING FOR AN UPLOAD 😭😭

I know the exact feeling of being in pure shock because of performing way better than you expected to. On February 4 I got a 2:37:04 for 120 stars, being over two minutes behind pace in upstairs and then getting a really good tippy at the time, I clutched out a 2 minute and 12 seconds personal best. The very next day I shaved off three minutes and 23 seconds. I was so in shock, I was basically hyperventilating. I'll link you that PB reaction video and discord DMs lol.

Honestly, I completely understand how these people have difficulty going from short, hella optimized to longer, more chill and endurance based. As a CTR time trialer for 13 years, I can concur, even going from 1 to 2 minute runs to 50+ minute runs is hard, not because I get bored, but because I'm just so used to a "balls to the wall go for every strat" mentality, it makes it REALLY tempting to reset. I'm getting into running Any% NMG in CTR, but the first RTA speedrun I did was Spyro 3 117%, and it was a 5 hour run, so uhhh, yeah I'm basically numb to long runs now haha

Well now we know what the next Summoning Salt's video will be about

Ooooo fast forward to now and GreenSuigi has a 1:41:49 120 star so he's at 41st place on the leaderboards! Could've gotten a 1:39:XX without the 2 carpetless deaths.
