I hate when the hygenist starts chipping away in a circle. Seen it done in other videos. They could have instead gone in a straight line and caused that upper chunk to break off instead of creating smaller pieces.

Idek, probably takes a few months of just not brushing your teeth, point blank period. If I go too long not doing so with mine, it'll build up in just a week.

I dont think its necessarily a diet. But lack of oral Hygiene. When one doesn't brush their teeth daily it creates build up from the food they consume everyday. But i stand to be corrected

Isn't it crazy? The only thing that makes somewhat sense to me is that it's possible the tartar almost preserves the enamel underneath from harmful acids and sugar since it has now calcified from the saliva therefore the pH / acidity has probably neutralized so the tartar no longer harms the teeth like plaque would. @@D0NCH33T0

My husband brushes and flosses twice a day and if he didn’t go to the dentist every 3 months for a scaling within 2 years his teeth would all be like this big lump. Some folk lay down tartar and a really fast rate. It’s a genetic thing as one of his brothers is the same

Lack of brushing teeth, genetics that causes tarter to grow faster than others, difficult access to healthcare, there are many reasons for this. It's just some people think lack of brushing is the only reason.

It seems like the government needs to do an education campaign about oral hygiene. Even just thoroughly rinsing their mouth after eating could prevent this level of tartar buildup.
