This performance was dedicated to her friend Avicii, who is a very popular artist that unfortunately passed away. This is the song he released that exploded his career. As for Angelina and her singing, I gave up long ago trying to explain what I feel when she sings. She just knows exactly how to sing and make someone emotional. Her deep voice is one of the reasons, the deep side of her voice is what makes me feel more. And her presence when all of us know she is humble. Those are the best reasons. Great performance by a 12 year old vocalist.

We listen to her sing this tribute and as always is the case we sit and never move a muscle while she is singing for us. We have to remind ourselves to breathe a little while she captures our full attention. No one like her in the world.

As she said this was for Avicii, his most famous song. They became friends a few year prior when they worked on a Volvo commercial where she sang. This is one of the few times where she was not just supernaturally talented and imbuing song with emotion seemingly out of thin air, Avicii had taken his own life and she had to sing for him and for herself.

I think for many of us who have listened to more and more of what Angelina has shared of herself with us, it's not so much that Angelina has gotten better, but more like that trench of love that you mentioned has more and more comfortably worked its way into our soul. I know that there are ways that I'm not the same as I was before Angelina snuck into my life. The voice can probably be explained somehow, but what makes Angelina so special is something else beyond her voice that makes us feel in ways that defy explanation.

I agree that Angelina has a quality beyond her talent. She moves into your life. It would take a lot of time for me to explain my life before and after discovering Angelina, but she changed me, and I don’t know how. God sent us a angel.

Even her final wave and “bye” was not her usual cheery self. Totally in keeping with her heartfelt tribute to a lost friend in sad circumstances.

Angelina dedicates Avicii's own #1hit song in so many countries to both how he must have felt prior to his untimely death and also how she felt anter his death. I can imagine Sara or Mery telling her that she was too young to understand if you listen to his song, then read the letter Avicii's parents left in his Wikipedia page then listen to Angelina sing his song it becomes apparent that not only does she understand but she understands both herself,Avicii, Avicii's parents, and that she understands whoever told her she was too young to understand🤎👣

The original song Wake Me Up song is much much more upbeat. Avicii was a real nice guy and one of the most famous DJ"s in the world. When Avicii died it was on the news worldwide. The song Wake Me Up Angelina sang was Avicii's worldwide hit song where the whole world danced on. This song has billions of views on KZread. I have seen videos where Avicii was so so tired of performing and that the people surrounding him pushed him to do even more interviews than he was capable of doing. Unfortunately he could not say no to people in the music industry. I believe he had the wrong people around him. I have seen Angelina as young girl with Avicii and I believe she looked up to him. In the beginning of this video Angelina says I dedicate this song to my dear friend Avicii and I believe love never dies. Avici was as down to Earth as Angelina is. P.s. Angelina befriended Avicii after he was asked to do a worlwide Volvo campaign where Avicii asked Angelina as a small girl to do the vocals. This was obviously important to Angelina as it is stated on Angelina's official website. I have seen this happen with another young girl singer as well. These companies use singing voices for commercials of not yet famous singers. Of course Angelina will have been paid a lot of money by Volvo but these companies would have had to fork over a lot more money for really famous singers like Beyonce or Adele. Angelina has 4 billion views on Facebook and 1.5 billion views on KZread so it seems she doesnt need a YT channel with a lot of followers. 4 billion views on Facebook means that a lot of people already know of her. The 1.5 billion views on KZread is just the icing on the cake.

She has such a special beautiful voice. Her talent is amazing.

I cry every time I see this video. Her friend gave up on life and that crushed a young Angelina. His very own upbeat dance song slowed right down to a dirge like this makes for a heart wrenching eulogy. I think Avicii was a victim oh his own great success and and his ever pushing manager.

Thank you for this one as well, Paul. 👣As I now fiend myself in my late 60s, I must admit that Avichii was one unheard of artist to me - until Angelina gave us this piece of art. Both visualy and musically. I obiously had to listen to the oraiginal version. That made me recognice the great work she did with this very good song, and how she really did put her mark on it. Almost in any way possible I think 👣 🤗

I love this tribute song of Angelina's: I heard the original Avicii song just the other day (my daughter was playing it ) and it is utterly different, yet this clearly recognisable... it is like she found a completely different song within the original, one that seems a lot more consistent with the lyrics and very appropriate as a profound and touching tribute to her late friend.

The original music video was filmed in the U.S. at several locations and was much more upbeat almost country/folk feel. The original video received over 2.2 billion views on YT as of 2023. As she often does AJ arranged this song to be more somber and with a much slow tempo - expressing her sadness of losing a friend!

The event of Aicii's death, by suicide, was the reason Angelina's family became aware of how brutal the stresses of a musical performer could be too much to bear. It is the main reason that the company that Angelina worked for, in the future, had to be scrutinized very carefully and see that she would be mature before trying to fit into that lifestyle.
