Angelina Jordan Astar has always known what her purpose in life was. At a very young age she told her mother she wanted to sing for the world, at age 7 her audition on Norway’s got talent went viral and she accomplished that, she also told her mom she wanted to sing at the Noble peace prize concert which she accomplished at 8 years old. From there it really gets crazy she went on a four year world tour helping raise millions for different charities and causes. She is just as comfortable in her home performing or in front of 40,000 people opening for Norah Jones or doing a charity concert with PSI in Korea, or being the opening act for Quincy Jones 85th birthday celebration in London. Her team has always looked out for her best interest since she was born, which is unique in itself since her team is her grandmother Mery Zamani aka Mosarz world renowned poet and artist who instilled in Angelina her love of Jazz and her humanitarianism, mother Sara and father Gerry and uncle Michael her manager. Because her grandma Mery herself was a child prodigy the Astar family was well acquainted with fame and how best to deal with it.

Indeed. And he is wearing a red suit similar to the ones used by Elvis' band members on the 68' comeback tour 🙂 I believe Rob has been nominated for 17 Grammys as well. He's the artistic director of Republic Records (Angelina's record label) and he has taken on somewhat of a mentor role for Angelina. ROB Christie I believe is also her mentor at Republic .. although I heard only a week or two ago that someone had said that about him and in front of him and, without missing a beat, he said sincerely "On the contrary .. Imo Angelina is like a female Elvis. She has the voice and charisma. By the way Angelina jordan is said to be 6'1".

Absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day. Elvis' version is great and, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own. When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 82 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched. Her phrasing in the last bridge is great. And she got Elvis’s ‘Oh Yea’ at the end of the song. The pianist is Rob Christie (3 Grammys), he is the head of the Republic Record department that is responsible for Angelina and other singers. The two small kids are her uncle Mike's kids, and the older girl is Angelina's sister. AJ has been killing us softly since she was 7 years old, and now she is taking the world by storm. How does one explain her abilities? The truth is, there aren't enough words because there is no one in our past, or more than likely in our future that will affect mankind as much as she has in the short period of time, she has been alive. AJ awakens a need within us that we had long forgotten. Peace.

And still just 16 years old. I think she will be headlining on the strip on Las Vegas on her 21st birthday, if not before. If that happens, I'll only have to travel 4 miles to see her in person. She obviously has great guidance from her parents . This is the early part of her career and that career simply has No Limits .

After watching your great reaction several more times, I think you might also enjoy hearing one of Angelina's original songs. I highly recommend Million Miles - her 1st release through Republic records at age 14. And while there are several versions available (animated lyrics, live studio & music video), I believe her best performance was her recent live in concert performance in Norway: "Million Miles - NRK TV - Live at Kongsberg 2022". This video was a family affair, with her Grandmother Mery Zamani as Ex-Producer, her Uncle Mike's two daughters, and her sister Juliette as the young girl growing up. The symbolism from the dust flying off the piano representing the past, Elvis's Black jumpsuit, and the red guitar he played during his come-back tour in1968, to Priscilla Presley's hairdo was pure genius in storytelling. Most of all Angelina sang in a deeper mature voice drawing you into "Suspicious Minds", told through Priscilla's perspective during their troubled marriage, by slowing down the song's tempo and allowing the lyrics to tell the story. Angelina Jordan has developed her style of singing that sets the mood of all her songs. She is a pure Artist!

Hi, Angelina is on the next level - at the age of 16. The first sound and goosebumps. This is a reminiscence to Elvis. I think Priscilla Presley had this hairstyle in the past, the clothes and the guitar are reminiscent of Elvis himself. She takes a big song and alters it according to her imagination. She has been called the girl with a 1000 voices. She has an amazing talent for always adding something of the original artists whether it be manipulating her voice to sound like theirs, singing in their key or just subtle nuances. She makes it easy to hear the (words/story/message) in a song.

Angelina Jordan's performances are captivating. So many great cover selections too. That said, I recommend one of her originals next, perhaps Million Miles (Live in Studio). I believe she wrote that soon after her grandfather died. Another amazing Norwegian talent is Aurora. You would love her too, I think. It's a particular specialty of hers to evoke something of the original artist in each of her covers, while still "making the song her own". (Granted, the extent to which she does each of those things does vary from cover to cover: sometimes she sounds _uncannily_ like the original artist, sometimes not really at all; and sometimes she _completely_ changes the music or the lyrics, and sometimes she's _extremely_ faithful to the original. You never really know what you're gonna get with an Angelina Jordan cover song - I mean… apart from superb singing, of course.)

Thank you for another excellent reaction to Angelina. For me and thousands of other "Angels" she is by far the best "storyteller" in the world. From her first performance at the age of seven, she has had the innate ability to read and understand all the emotions in the lyrics and melody of a song, and even more remarkable is her gift of being able to transmit those emotions to her listener. Her audience is "you" - every individual. It isn't a group thing, it is a personal experience for every individual who is watching and listening to her. The song was written by Mark James. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, he is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of." Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat". Angelina took a very different path in that she read and understood the lyrics and what Mark James intended when writing them . To my mind, her rendition is much truer to the emotions of the song. The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins Aurora (first) and then Athena - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family. Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it. For me, that she started with the Bridge of the song is very significant and, I feel, very indicative of Angelina's "up front" transparency. She was declaring that it was important that their love did not die, and then carries on to say why she feels as she does. Others first say how they feel and then, almost as an afterthought, assure their love they don't want it to end. For me, it is whether I feel the singer is genuine about the situation and wishes it could be resolved or whether the singer understands the situation but thinks the blame is on her/his partner but feels the need to assure them they don't want it to end (until somebody else comes along).

This is a classic example of this very unique individual, when she does her covers, she pays homage to the original and then ads her own unique twists that make is so much better than it was originally performed.

The most recent cover dropped was I Have Nothing (yup .. Whitney) .. She did it in the fresh air concerts she just did in Norway but this is a new version .. actually filmed in black and white and in the same chandelier-ry you just saw in this video. It's done like a live studio video .. but without live music. She is quite amazing in it.

Angelina manages to honour Elvis yet equally listen to her recent EASY ON ME Adele cover or her Whitney cover of I HAVE NOTHING. or her opening cover of Labyrinths MOUNT EVEREST, or MERCY she did for the opening credits of the film Hating game. Though she always makes a song her own she can embody any singer of any genre or time period. I recently found her 1940s style YOU MAKE ME FEEL SO YOUNG. Everything from the hair to her tone and rhythm of the song makes you feel like you have stepped back in time with someone who lived then. As a great fan of old films it was unbelievable. She not only has the best ear in the business but the empathy to understand and emote emotions.

I've been living my life through Angilina for nearly 8 years now and Angilina is the only performer that I really truly Love. Seeing her grow up, I Love her like my own daughter. I would do anything for Angilina and her family, all they have to do is ask. She is real, what you see is what you get, Love, smiles, beauty, and the thoughtfulness she has for humanity. It's hard to believe Angelina is only 16 here. When you take the setting and lighting, the camera work, the costuming, the beautiful piano playing, and then all the symbolisms in the video, it is just stunning. But then, you add to that the exquisitely beautiful voice of Angelina, you have a masterpiece. I truly believe this should be nominated for a Grammy! I just can't imagine what she's going to be like at around 18 to 20 years old. At 16 she has the chops and stage presence of the best of them at any age. Whitney Houston, Janis Joplin, Elvis, whoever!

, my favorite angelina cover is 3lana del rays born to die. It really shows her deep rich velvety voice that we all love. Lot of people don't know who lan is ,I think that's why more people don't react to it which is too bad because it's aa gem to be discovered

Your Barefoot Princess rabbit hole is just gonna get crazy!!! She covers Adelle, MJ, Amy Winehouse... and so on.. has her own originals that rock... One song that I like is "I'm Still Holding out for you" I believe she was 11 when she recorded this song... But to be honest everything she records is gold... She doesn't sing music she is music.....

The guitar is also of the 68 comeback tour as well as the red jump suit that Rob Christie, on piano, that Elvis's bandmembers wore in 68 tour. Rob, is a multi Grammy award winning musician and currently is Director of Republic Records LA and has taken Angelina under his wing. Has played for her on a number of her video's already. He is well aware of the Talent of this young lady at their record company. Nice job guys...Cheers to you.

Great and heartfelt reaction! What strucks me with some of her renditions and I see it here, too, is that she is singing these words to us, the listeners. She really means that. Maybe she has already got some negative feedback from people who cannot and will not give her credit and the love back which she presents to us from the very beginning. I had the same feeling after listening to her saying to us that she put a spell on us and that she just loves us anyhow, no matter what we say - in a very positive and awakening sense. No wonder that people get touched and often comforted and even in a way healed by her and by the way she sings turning directly to our souls as if we had not much time.

Elvis covers?? She has also done her covers on these from Elvis` repertoire: - Welcome to my world, It`s now or never, Are you lonesome tonight, I can`t help falling in love with you. She even made a stunning cover of "How Great You Are", honoring Elvis. As she was honoring her grandfather who passed, she did it by singing "You`r Always On My Mind" in a most touching video.

Elvis Vegas tour- black leather outfit, red guitar, band wearing red jumpsuits. Antique shop, shaking the dust off relics of the past, and probably a reference to her growth from a baby to now. She has spent her life bringing the relics of the past to life again. The artistry of her and her grandmother is really interesting, and quite a combination. Both prodigies, both thinking and living in an entirely different realm, bringing bits of that realm to focus for us.

You will discover that Angelina has the ability to reproduce the essence of many voices, without being a "copycat". She can sound like Amy Winehouse, Dinah Washington, Adele, Billie Holiday, the list goes on, yet still have that distinctive emotive voice.

This video is Angelina's "Love Letter" to Elvis. She's done tributes to many other iconic singers as well: Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Whitney Houston, Dinah Washington, Michael Jackson and, of course, Billie Holiday. All are beautiful, heartfelt, and technically amazing performances. Some have been remixed as mash-ups with the original artist's recording, making it even more obvious how remarkable they are -- especially since most of them were recorded before Angelina was even a teenager!

Yeah so many Elvis imagery: indeed the black leather suit, the red guitar, the Priscilla hairdo, the microphone and also the red suit worn by Rob Christie (the guy at the piano and Grammy winner). Also she comes in uncovering beautiful pieces from the past bringing them into the present. Also her two little cousins and her sister give an impression of her growing up and coming to the present. Elvis version is great and was an is a joy to watch: he was a master showman: it was upbeat and cheerful. Listening to him makes me wonder though how distraught he really was being caught in an inescapable trap :-) Angelina gave a great tribute to Elvis and also turned the song upside down: she turned the bridge into an intro and and an outro, slowed it down and stripped it down. With the beautiful crystal clear piano and the melancholy in her voice, she made really listen to this sad story where love is being destroyed by distrust and she also made me feel it.
