Regarding her advanced emotional maturity, it’s only evident in her music. When Angelina’s not singing and just talking, she sounds exactly like any other girl her age. She’s a 50 year old artist when singing, a typical child when not. It’s uncanny.

An album is expected out next year. She does know what she is doing and she started singing at 18 mos. old with Whitney Houston. So check out as much as you can and be amazed. There is a video of Angelina when she is 1.5yo and holding a microphone singing whitney houston! So yah she's born with it, and she by most is considered a gift to humanity. Her heart is just as big as her voice and someone who is now 16yo she is about 6ft tall and is a unstoppable force.

Angelina international fans are called Angels. They will give you a full biography. The only reason she is the best kept secret until very recently is that her family did not want her to go the way of many child stars. She won Norways got Talent, auditioning at 7, and 8 by the time she won. They turned down contracts by Disney and Simon Cowel to name a very few. They tried to let Angelina perform at enough small concerts and venues to keep her happy. They let her sign with republic at 14 under the understanding they wait. Also give her unprecidented artistic freedom for that age. She is 16 now working on an album with Republic Records. My favourite 16 year old offerings are her Elvis cover SUSPICIOUS MINDS filmed in the antique store. Also her opening number from her recent concert in Kurbadagen MOUNT EVEREST by Labyrinth, her older covers of Rihanna STAY, or NOTHING BREAKS LIKE A HEART by Miley Cyrus, BORN TO DIE, IM HOLDING OUT FOR YOU (age 10) , ITS A MANS WORLD (age 11 or 12), anything at any age by Adele is spectacular, BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY her golden buzzer audution for AGT The Champions (age 13), are all some of my favourites. Because she covers all genre in her own unique style and never shows all her skills or range in one song, you never get bored. Everybody has different favourites. You never know which gems she will select from her vocal treasure box. She is mind blowing from 5 to 16.

Welcome to the Angelina rabbithole. She is what I refer to as a prodigy. You should see her stuff from the time (2 years prior) where she won Norway's Got Talent at age 7. Hi girl - first saw AJ in London at the 02. It was a concert for Quincy Jones 85th birthday. At the start of the show Quincy Jones said I want to introduce a young girl from Norway - she will sing fly me to the moon in the same arrangement that I did for Frank Sinatra. Mind blowing performance - she wasn't even on the program but opened the show at 12 years old. Flew from UK to Norway in July this year and saw her in concert. She did 18 songs and was so good.

At her present age of 16, she has over 170 to choose from. She has five originals, two others written just for her, and a demo she did at 10 years old that was leaked to the internet before the original artist released his version. (It also has thousands more views and likes than the original artists version) She is a VERY unique artist and has studied many of the great singers from the past. Her roots are Jazz and Blues but she can sing literally anything. I understand your state very well, Angelina has the ability to extrapolate the soul of a song and give it to us with the naturalness and simplicity that distinguish she, this fantastic girl breathes music and in every interpretation of her takes us to another world. Angelina's family have been beyond generous in documenting by video her special talent since the age of 18 months when she first sang a Whitney song into a mic.I always feel joy when a new reactor and their subs discover Angelina and her love and passion for music that she shares almost daily.

Loved your reaction! To answer your question, her voice is even better now! Richer, fuller and more powerful if you can imagine that. A couple of the "Angels" (what she calls her fans) have put together excellent biographies of Angelina. Well worth reading, and will fill you in on all things Angelina. She’s the barefoot princess. IMHO She Is the best singer in the world. An amazing and inspiring human being. She’s beautiful inside and out. I’m so fortunate to see and enjoy a once in a life time genius evolve into an exceptional artist. She’s from Norway. She speaks several languages, English being her third. She plays several instruments, she paints, she has written several original songs and has written a book.She’s spreading love with her wonderful velvet voice and healing the world. I think she’s an old soul with an extraordinary God given talent. God bless and keep Miss AJ safe and her family.

I'm 60, have heard all the great jazz, blues, and pop singers, and imho she is the greatest singer I have ever heard. I saw her cover a Billie Holiday song when she was about 11 and then I watched the original by Billie Holliday and Angelina was decidedly better.

Welcome to Angelina Jordan's world (or how others will say: to Angelina's "rabbit hole")! For me, Angelina is already the best singer of all time even though she is only 16 years old now (she was 9 years old when she recorded "I Put a Spell on You")! Check out her latest Witney Houston cover of "I Have Nothing" (music video -> kzread.info/dash/bejne/m4xkyZtymrGYZrg.html) to see how much her voice evolved and matured in the meantime. Her repertoire includes five original songs and more than 150 distinct cover songs (all being great). But I am sure that other fans of Angelina will give you tons of information about her.

What is she like now? Exquisite .. phenomenal voice and she is profoundly soulful. She has a deeply generous heart and is focused on music with passion and an amazing work ethic .. if you could call it work .. it's her life's purpose (and she's said this since she was very young) which is to sing for the world and give love to everyone that hears her. She does this. She has over 150 videos on KZread .. mostly covers and 5 originals: What Is Life?, Oslo (she's from Norway), Shield (love this one .. to me it's like a prayer), Million Miles (which she wrote after her grandfather died .. she was very vulnerable when she did a live studio version (near the beginning of covid) and she dedicated it to everyone who had ever lost a loved one. Extraordinary song. and then there's 7th Heaven, a jazzy, positive fun one. I love all her originals .. the ones that grab me deeply are Shield and Million Miles. She also has a lot of singing tik toks and Instagrams. You have many vwonders to see and hear and feel this unique and special young lady named Angelina. It's a journey that will, indeed, make you feel your heart and soul as she shares her own. She won Norway's Got Talent when she was 7-8. There is a video that has all four of the songs she herself chose to singat the age of 7, starting with Gloomy Sunday (Billie Holiday), I'm a Fool to Want You (Frank Sinatra but also sung by Billie Holiday), Bang, Bang (written Sonny Bono but made famous by Nancy Sinatra) and ending with Summertime (written by George Gershwin and sung by many famous jazz singers of the times) If you choose to hear those, which will blow your mind, make sure you get the video that has translations on it so you can understand the judges. Oh .. and have I told you that she very often does her own arrangements to the covers she does? She did her own arrangement for I Put a Spell On You that you just saw. (at 9yrs old!) I'm happy that you're with us .. and look forward to following your reactions.

Congratulations, you have found the path to a most incredible journey of discovery of Angelina's beautiful art that has been developing since she was a toddler. No doubt she is gifted but she has also worked very hard to master her craft. But yes, don't look away. Her performance here is more than that, it's a total visual, musical, and vocal experience unsurpassed. I've seen it hundreds of times and it still brings tears to my eyes because of the amazing artistry.

I love this performance so much. As they say AJ don't play. Well perhaps this is what she does when she does play and we get the most stunning, amazing performance of a 9 yr old of this Jazz standard ever created. I believe it is going to go down in Jazz & Music history as the best ever for this age and in my opinion the best rendition of this song ever created Screamin Jay included. It will be revisited for Decades and will remain relevant for Generations to come. Anyone who discovers this performance for the first time today or a 100 years from today are going to be as amazed and astounded as everybody has been to this point. Think of the children who will be inspired by this one performance in the decades to come. This is an Iconic performance and will always be Iconic. Angelina has on her own from early on at 6 or 7 yrs old reintroduced what I believe will be a whole new Jazz Era and redefined by this young phenom and prodigy. That is astounding! And she is just 16 years old... That is unfathomable!... Oh Lord... what is coming the world is not prepared for but we as fans have been on the edge of our seats and will remain there as we wait. No hurry. We want Angelina to do it her way when she is ready. She has already established her proficiency and incredible work ethic in this endeavor guided by an incredible family and professional support now surrounding her. We know Angelina will continue to amaze! We will be here to experience and cherish it for as long as we live.... and I am praying for many more years for myself to enjoy it till the end of my days... I hope to go out of this world listening to the most beautiful voice ever created for man just as Angelina came into it to fulfill her purpose, what she was put on earth to do, sing for the whole World... and Me! You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (150+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Michael Jackson to Etta James to James Brown to Amy Winehouse to the Beatles (and many others in between) and do them all justice! If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You have far to go with Angelina. She is equally comfortable and equally able to impact us whether singing a cappella, accompanied only by a piano or guitar, in front of professional studio musicians or a 40-piece military band. It is truly a conundrum when we try to rationalize how it is possible that this tiny sweet-faced 9yo Norwegian girl can step up to a microphone, flip some switch within her, become this "beast-mode" version of herself (most probably named "AJ don't play"), deliver an extraordinary and musically and socially sophisticated performance, then just-like-that return to the pensive young lady once again... As you experienced, there aren't effective words for this! "I Put a Spell On You" has been covered many times and is recognized as a classic, yet almost never is the tone of the original 1956 "Screamin" Jay Hawkins version captured. This is because Hawkins was the original shock rock guy (think Ozzy Osbourne type craziness) and his style is difficult to emulate and also because his dated delivery is uncomfortable and stereotypical to our modern sensibilities. Yet Angelina respectfully sings his own song in a manner that exceeds his (Hawkin's image is on the candle she holds at the start of her video). You must go and listen to Hawkins' original (and throw in a couple of "famous" covers as well) to see the true genius in how AJ incorporates many of his vocal elements [usually omitted by most singers]. This shows another aspect of her musical IQ and arranging genius (not to mention her masterful control of her vocal instrument equaled by few others regardless of age). When Angelina Jordan was 7, she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent with the Billie Holliday classic, "Gloomy Sunday". No joke! It'll blow your your mind. Her recent cover of Adele's "Easy on Me" is absolutely worth watching.

I have watched this so many times, still get goose bumps. She is a natural talent, she feels the music. Those musicians are amazing as well.

it's so much fun when I see someone "Get it" for the first time. What is she like now? Some say she is better, but I say that she is just different. I have to say this because when ever I hear her earlier music, I think that this is the best that there is. Of course, I say the same thing about her later music too - so, it leaves me with "She is the best and always has been".

Hi, welcome to the club of people under the spell of Angelina. Your reaction and your face told me you are. Angelina startet singing with 1 1/2, dived deep into Jazz between 2 and 3. Took part at Norway got talent at 7 and won at the age of 8. There she sang Gloomy Sunday, I´m a fool, Bang Bang and Summertime. She was 9 when she sung I put a spell on you. And the scribble you have seen in the beginning was Angelina taking notes for the arrangement she wants. Just try to learn more about her. But please look into her older videos as well. She is 16 now, and is absolutely superb. The reason you have not heard of her is that she's still at school, and not doing a lot of concerts (she did 4 this summer, though). Her family is very loving and protective and they want to make sure she has a nice and safe upbringing. Her uncle is her manager and she is signed with Republic Records. It is a big company but they were able to get a good contract for her, allowing her a lot of freedom to do as she pleases. I hope you'll jump down the rabbit hole and check out some more, because there is a LOAD of good stuff from her 😄

Oh how I love seeing first time reactions to this particular Angelina Jordan video... Nothing "scary" about a child who's (as you stated) in possession of a God-given gift... That's the closest definition; I've heard many vocal coaches refer to her as a Prodigy... I'm very much in concurrence with that opinion.. Another spell was cast by 9yo Angelina. Welcome to “The World Of Angelina Jordan Astar” (full name). “The Barefoot Princess With The Velvet Voice And A Mona Lisa Smile”. Born Jan 10, 2006. From her audition on Norway’s Got Talent (2014 - age 7 - Gloomy Sunday "Billy Holiday") through the final on America’s Got Talent The Champions (2020 - age 13 - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road "Sir Elton John") and the 130+ videos in between you will not be disappointed. This includes three originals song: “What Is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” Since then she has done many new covers and now her new singles "Million Miles" and “7th Heaven”, along with her movie soundtrack "Mercy" from the motion picture “The Hating Game”. My personal favorite is her cover of Lana Del Rey's "Born To Die". Although “Mercy” is really growing on me. Let’s analyze the video: 1st you see how small and cute she is. 2nd you see she is barefoot (story below) 3rd You see her making her “Wish List” of suggested changes to the song. 4th the band leader taking note of the changes. 5th Angelina is holding a candle with “Screemin’ Jay Hawkin’s (original artist 1956) picture on it. 6th the old soul in her voice. She is the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina wrote and her Grandmother illustrated a book about why she sings barefoot. She was on a trip to Iran where her grandmother is from and met a street girl weighing people for money. Angelina sat and talked with the girl. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, a doctor but that it could never happen. Angelina told her to never give up hope. The girl complimented Angelina on her shoes and Angelina noticed her scarred bare feet so she gave them to her, and the little girl told Angelina she would pray for her every day. Angelina sings barefoot to this day to remind herself (and the world) that there are still children in need. All book proceeds go to charity.

After jazz legend Quincy Jones saw Angelina Jordan preform Fly Me To The Moon, a song he arranged for Frank Sinatra, he asked her to open his 85th birthday concert at the O2 in London. She was 12!

Angelina was 9 years and 2 months old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, who wrote and performed the song in 1956. She based her arrangement on his original performance, although she discarded all the theatrics and allowed her voice and body language to tell the story. The song has been covered by many singers over the years, but to my knowledge, Angelina is the only one who has sung in the same style as the original. Things I found particularly worthy of note in this video are (a) Angelina finishing writing last minute changes she wanted and handing them to the Music Director, who smiled. (b) A brief glimpse of Mery Zamani, Angelina's maternal grandmother, a well known and respected Iranian Artist and poet who was also a child prodigy. All of them are true, but I prefer the nickname I gave her after listening to about six of her performances. For me, she is "The Chameleon of Song", for as a chameleon is able to change its colour to match its surroundings, so Angelina is able to change the "colour" of her voice to accurately match the needs of the song to reveal the emotions within the lyrics and melody. Even more remarkable is her innate ability to communicate those same emotions to her listeners.

Also referred to at the time by the band as "the Boss". lol. I'm just saying, Norwegians knew long before the world that this is an absolute DIAMOND.

Angelina Jordan Astar, born January 10th 2006 in Oslo was singing in her crib at age 1,5 Whitney Houston, shortly after, she discovers Jazz. From age 3 on she practices daily 6 hours, studys music and performing arts since age 4 (on her own volition) a the academies Oslo and LA, plus going normaly to school. Auditioning at Norway Gots Talent (NGT) 2014 and wins. In the same summer after a performance on a open air TV show, the people of Norway declare her "The National Treasure of NORWAY". It´s a bit like being ennobled. AJ herself says "I´m a normal girl, so don´t make a fuzz". This "normal Girl" sings in November 2014 barefoot at the Nobel Prize and almost gets pneumonia. 10 days later she performes in Sweden for a good cause, the audience were informed, in case her voice would crack. Roaring aplause afterwards."I´ll be there".
