Angelina is 9 here. This is truly "girlpower"! She sings in English! That's her third of 4-5 language. You know she's from Norway. There, everyone speaks Norwegian. From the age of 6, Angelina READ, WRITE and SING English texts and understand what everything means! She is amazing in many ways. Angelina won Norwegian Talents (NGT), when she was 8 years old. Before she participated in AGT at 13 yo, she performed and sang on lots of scenes around our world! Most of these were for charity. She has appeared in front of 40,000 in Soul! When Quincy Jones celebrated his 85th birthday, he asked Angelina to open the concert with "Fly me to the moon"! Etc. .. However, she performed very little in the United States. Participating in AGT was a way to market her in the United States.

A barefoot princess with a hypnotic voice. She was only 9 years old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, an American singer/songwriter. He wrote and performed it in 1956 and Angelina based her performance on the original, although she did make some subtle alterations to both lyrics and melody. As you continue your journey of discovering Angelina, you will come to realise that she does her own arrangements of most of the cover songs she sings. The differences may not be immediately discernible on first listening to them, but they are there. There may be a subtle change in tempo or tone, or more inflexion on some words, or a phrase may differ in pitch from the original. The amount of control that Angelina has over her voice cannot be measured. She never hurries a song. She sings in such a way that the emotions in the lyrics are felt by the listener. Each part of her whole name -- Angelina Jordan Astar -- when looking at their original root definitions from Greek and Hebrew, LITERALLY means, "an angel descending from the stars"! Indeed, she is! This was March of 2015, so she was 9 years, 2 months here. She was born January 10, 2006, in Oslo, Norway.

I love this performance so much. As they say AJ don't play. Well perhaps this is what she does when she does play and we get the most stunning, amazing performance of a 9 yr old of this Jazz standard ever created. I believe it is going to go down in Jazz & Music history as the best ever for this age and in my opinion the best rendition of this song ever created Screamin Jay included. It will be revisited for Decades and will remain relevant for Generations to come. Any one discovers this performance for the first time today or a 100 years from today are going to be as amazed and astounded as everybody has been to this point. Think of the children who will be inspired by this one performance in the decades to come. This is an Iconic performance and will alway be Iconic. Angelina has on her own from early on at 6 or 7 yrs old reintroduced what I believe will be a whole new Jazz Era and redefined by this young phenom and prodigy. That is astounding! And she is just 16 years old... That is unfathomable!... Oh Lord... what is coming the world is not prepared for but we as fans have been on the edge of our seats and will remain there as we wait. LOL... the look on your face and the expression changes within the first six words of the song was hilarious; Nonetheless we were all affected that way. Now I suggest that you listen to one of her original songs possibly starting with "Shield" I believe the song is for her mother, undoubtedly someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Angelina was 9 years and 2 months old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, who wrote and performed the song in 1956. She based her arrangement on his original performance, although she discarded all the theatrics and allowed her voice and body language to tell the story. The song has been covered by many singers over the years, but to my knowledge, Angelina is the only one who has sung in the same style as the original. All of them are true, but I prefer the nickname I gave her after listening to about six of her performances. For me, she is "The Chameleon of Song", for as a chameleon is able to change its colour to match its surroundings, so Angelina is able to change the "colour" of her voice to accurately match the needs of the song to reveal the emotions within the lyrics and melody. Even more remarkable is her innate ability to communicate those same emotions to her listeners.

She’s about 9 here. She had already won Norway’s Got Talent. That paper she was writing on at the beginning was her arrangement for this song and she handed to the music director. That’s why she’s known as the boss, she does all of her own arrangements. She also plays piano, guitar and I think flute.

Kiki, I'll be brief. Angelina is a beautiful person wise beyond her years. She was already cultivating her gift when she was 6 years old (before she appeared on Norway's Got Talent at 7 years old) and is already a living legend. Away from the microphone she is a humble, kind, caring and loving person. Then, when she sings for us she is able to transmit the love in her heart to us, specifically to our heart, and our heart cannot resist and opens it's door to let her in. Once she's there she will never leave someone. The affect she has on people is so dramatic people are often brought to tears when they hear her sing. Kiki, I love your style and I do hope you continue to follow Angelina. And, please, I think this video opens your eyes to how remarkable she was as a "very young" person. :) Everything she did from 7 yrs old and beyond is definite a must listen so anything you choose to listen to will "touch your heart".

By the time Angelina offered this performance at barely 9 years old she had already won Norway's Got Talent singing songs from the great jazz/blues artist Billie Holiday and the great Ella Fitzgerald. She had performed in Europe, Asia, South America and North America. Performed the classic Louis Armstrong song "What A Wonderful Life" at the Nobel Peace Prize concert helping raise money for Save The Children as she sang it directly to the prize winners. She appeared on the American TV show The View and sang "Fly Me To The Moon" made famous by Frank Sinatra. She appeared on the Netflix series "Lilyhammer" playing the role of a nightclub singer and singing Billie Holiday's version of "I'm A Fool To /Want You" which was co-written and performed by Frank Sinatra, both Angelina idols. She ha and became d also performed for several world leaders and became friendly with many musical artists including Avicci, David Foster, Stevie VanZandt (who asked her to appear on Lilyhammer. At 9 she wrote her book "Between Two Hearts" based on her 6 year old diary and became the youngest published author ever in Norway. Everything I just mentioned can be found on YT. Well, you've seen two real bangers, and they blew you away. I hope you will enjoy her really subtle performances half as much.🙂 Try her live rendition of Dinah Washington's "What a Difference a Day Makes" on _Allsang på Grensen_ when she was 8 (going on 48?), just six weeks after winning _Norway's Got Talent_ [Norske Talenter]. Or, if you want something more recent, "When We Were Young" (Adele cover), sung in a summer concert at Prøysenhuset (a place in Norway) in 2019, when she was 13. Or, even more recent and arguably "more live" (a TikTok just sung into her cell phone), "Love Is a Game" (another Adele cover) from last December (so, 15). These performances - and many, many others - demonstrate that she doesn't need to "go hard" on a vocal to be impressive. The one after that should be AJ's latest release of Suspicious Mind's an Elvis Cover/Tribute, Her spin is mind blowing. She turns a 70's big band song and flips it into a stripped down RnB ballad with just a piano and guitar but still honors the Original artist so tastefully. OMG... Your reactions to her. You're fast becoming one of my favorite Angelina reactors, I'll tell you THAT much. Lovin' it. Which reminds me of her cover of "Lovin' You" at a venue called Prøysenfestivalen here in Norway. Angelina was 11 at the time, and gave us vocals that we'd never heard before, and never again.
