I went there today on a school field trip. All my students thought they were going to whoop their teacher's ass, saying I'm too old, fat, and don't play Mario Kart or watch stuff like Fast and Furious. Ha! I showed them the truth of the old adage that youth and enthusiasm has nothing on age and treachery! In allotted race time, I did ten laps. Second place only did 8. I lapped second place twice. My fastest lap was 30.625 seconds and my average lap time was 31.544. I don't know how that compares to anyone who actually knows what they're doing, but it was the best time set by anyone from my school, by a long shot. The second place average lap time was 36.165 seconds. I'd really like it if a local cart track would start a series for mini-motorcycles like the Honda Grom and the like. They do that in southern California. And I'm a bike guy. Today was the second time I've ever ridden a cart in my life. Gotta admit, if there's no mini-bike racing in this area, I might just trade a bike in for some sort of go-kart and try doing some cart racing. That was fun today. I could see myself really getting into it. I was at the Andretti's in San Antonio, but our course we ran seemed to be a bit different, so I don't think my lap times compare to those on the course you rode.

You must have been on Track 1, not this track. Good times on that one are around 27 seconds.

Since this video I've gotten a time of 38.298. The track has gotten grippier as more rubber has been laid down.

@@pablogonzalez9447 Not sure. It better be lower than what I got. I'm too heavy to keep a track record for too long. My best so far is a 36.848

How do you like it compared to K1? I used to race in league at k1 but stopped because it seemed like the place was going downhill...predominantly lack of care for the carts. A friend of mine had a wheel come off during a race.

I stopped going to K1 for the same reason. It became more like a roulette to see who got the good kart and not who was the best driver. Overall I think that Andretti is better, but they have already started doing things such as calibrating the karts to go a bit slower. On the good side, they pulled me aside one day to have me test karts for them, which shows that they actually care about how they are performing. I also talked to their lead mechanic who said that they now have the ability to perform alignments and calibrate the karts themselves, which is a great improvement. Time will tell, but so far they seem to be doing better.

@@bmx687 Yes, Alamo karts is pretty good. They've been getting better at taking care of their karts lately, but there can still be a bit of a difference between each kart. I like their track other than that they don't allow passing in their chicane. Fun place and the only one where I've seen propane karts. This is an older video. They have since reversed the layout of the track and slowed down the karts.

Do i need a license to drive the track?
