    Can you drift in these karts or do they not allow it?

  • @AndrewMalkin
    @AndrewMalkin5 ай бұрын

    I think that they might have drift nights every now and then. Not too often though. They have to put more slippery tires on it to get them to drift. They don't drift too well in their regular configuration.

    Dude was COOKING!!! Nice driving!!! They've replaced the karts since. New ones don't have quite the top end so no more air, but they're better overall I feel like. I think newer track record with the current gen karts are around 39ish seconds. Solid driving, bro!

  • @AndrewMalkin
    @AndrewMalkin6 ай бұрын

    Dang. 39 second range is so much slower. They slowed the karts even before they got new ones though. I think someone was injured, so they took precautions to prevent it from reoccurring.

  • @supergnaw

    Not sure what's more frustrating, the fact that he wouldn't let you pass and kept going so slow, or that literally nobody flagged him to get over.

    I went today and the karts look different than the one you had, they had fake engine noises coming from speakers in the head rest. Anyways these new karts front end pushed so bad under steered at every tight corner, had to use the brakes to get any rotation

    @@AndrewMalkin that sucks. When they first opened it looked so cool, but I also see their point with the elevation changes and fast karts I bet a bad driver could end up on their heads pretty easily. The driving experience was definitely more "fun" than at my local K1 up in Austin. But the karts certainly felt slower. Kinda like driving a Miata hard vs a Ferrari haha

    The reason why you couldn't pass him was because you were drifting. The way this guy was driving the only way to pass him was to come off the turn at a faster speed. Drifting allows you to enter turns at higher speeds but drifting causes you to come off of turns at a slower speed. Having said that, I have no doubt that you could easily have had the fastest lap without anyone in front of you.

    27 SECONDS?! The staff lied to me, they said the record was a 35 something at track one, then again idk if they just updated the record to what the current intermediate/adult karts can run now cause if im correct the karts were faster at the time of this video right?

  • @AndrewMalkin
    @AndrewMalkin Жыл бұрын

    Yes, the karts were much faster back when this video was taken. 35 is probably a pretty quick time now, but I'm not sure. To be fair, most of the staff doesn't really know about how fast the karts used to be. They didn't believe my record on track 2 until I showed them the video.

    Hey if you can’t pass the guy in front of you that’s not his fault. Karting is a way for enthusiasts to practice or at least live out their racing dreams. Who said you could have passed him if you wanted too? I saw a couple of missed opportunities to pass and you didn’t take it. If you want family fun then don’t take it serious. If you are doing your best as far as racing physics go then don’t get pissed when you can’t pass someone…you need to be better. I see it as a learning experience.

The best course designers will try to use as few cones as possible while still giving you enough information to get around.
