When I was her age, 10 years old, I tied my shoe laces on my own for the first time. My mother was so proud of me, she gave chocolate bars to all the kids in the neighborhood.

For those who may not know, Amira learned this aria listening to KZread videos. Believe it or not, at the time she won Hollands Got Talent, she had never had singing lessons. Andre heard this "unbelievable" kid on the recommendation of members of his orchestra and brought her to perform here.

10 years ago and still sends shivers down my spine ... and tomorrow (11/03/24) this little angel starts her first day at university in Pretoria, South Africa and in a couple of weeks turns 19 years old... all grown up now...

My Dear Amira, That was truly the most magnificent rendition of "O Mio Babbino Caro", I have ever witnessed. I was in tears as were many in the audience. You looked so beautiful and sang like an angel of God. I consider myself blessed by God to have witnessed this performance. I don't understand how this is possible. Tiny lungs, underdeveloped vocal chords... and yet the most perfect performance of one of the most technically difficult songs in the operatic repertoire. Not mimicry, a genuine and sincere individualistic interpretation that requires the rawest of emotions and an emotional intelligence to turn that into music. I don't understand this... autism? Prodigious talent on the level of Mozart? Just an absurd rarity in a world of 7 billion people. Humbled by this. Genuinely humbled and absorbed. What an experience. Thank you.

Thank you Andre for featuring Amira Willighagen in your concert that became an instant worldwide music classic. If Andre checks up her most recent performance she definitely will not be invited again, the performance was a total mess. She sang flat, squeezed sharp high notes, off beat, poor diction. Only her last note was acceptable.

Yes, whether it was the composition of the song or her angelic voice, as soon as she started singing I got emotional. I can honestly say it was a first for me with regards to music. Reminds me of the video of the baby who cried as a reaction to its mom singing.

I came back here after watching Emma Kok's amazing performance. This is still streaks ahead I personally think.

If you watch many of the older people that are there listening to this, you can realize why they're brought to tears. For many of them have seen War, pestilence, destruction and have gone through hell. And here, to hear the voice of an angel through the gift of God in a child, is overwhelming and a beautifully moving experience.

I am 75 yrs old and found Amira 2 yrs ago...I waited 73 yrs to hear this fantastic girl sing and all I can say is that the wait was worth it.

Nickycaccia24 she's Dutch for god's sake, how many children do you know who can speak 2 languages. She's just copied off Utube aria's by Callas etc, and had hardly any training, one masterclass from Andre that's all. What do you expect, and can you do any better? I think not. Good grief you ought to get a life, you need one..... I mustn't forget she's 10 years old here, yes that's 10 years old.

I can’t stop listening and cry my eyes out everytime. How is this even possible. For her to have such depth, intensity, the control.... How can she feel on that level at such a young age. 😮 This is pure soul.

Ever since I saw Amira sing for the first time.....I was astounded. Even though at the time I was not familiar with opera, period. She has opened up a whole new world for me. Ed M She did the same for me. The most amazing child. WhenI heard her on Holland Has Talent and to have to say she taught herself I was in awe of her. She will keep getting better. The way she sings this is so much better than Maria Callas. Can you imagine when she has a more mature voice?

I know it. it,s a duet with Patrizio Buanne at the Classics is Groot concerts in South Africa. AMAZING OUT OFF THIS WORLD BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE. Amira is UNIQUE.

I first saw Amira in her first appearance on Holland's Got Talent (with English subtitles) when she was 9. It was there that I learned she taught herself and never had singing lessons. She is not only awesome, she is addictive. Once you watch, you will come back again and again. She is truly an Angel.

Indeed you will come back, and boy, she is addictive! However, her first audition was on August 31, 2013; Andre Rieu saw that video and invited her to a "Master class" , which took place on December 7, 2013 - i.e. before the semi-finals and finals of HGT. She got a vocal coach after she had won HGT, and recorded her first album in February 2014, and this performance with Andre was on 11/12 July, 2014. So the "never" applies only to her first audition for HGT. She has had a number of vocal coaches since, and still communicates with her second Dutch coach by Skype.

Then see the video of Amira's masterclass with Andre Rieu - that took place on December 7, 2013 - i.e. before her semi-finals at HGT. Then see her "Ave Maria" at the semi-finals, and the performance of "Nessun Dorma" with which she won it, in late December 2013. She recorded her first album "Amira" in February, 2013; it went Gold in two weeks. This Maastricht performance with Andre occurred on July 11/12, 2014.

If you didn't know that a star was born in Holland's Got Talent, you knew it with this masterfully rare performance. For such a small child to sing like a full grown world class soprano opera star simply defies comprehension. The audience sat there in total disbelief and hence, the tears began to flow uncontrollably. They strongly sensed that they were witnessing something very, very rare indeed and it just moved them to tears, as well it should have. Very few people have ever beheld something of this magnitude in their lifetimes. Oh how fortunate they were that day.

I came across this video and couldn't believe what I was witnessing. This is a miracle of God. Amira, oh my goodness, I've never heard a voice like yours, and your poise and stage presence are nothing short of perfection! Andre was also superb; he let you perform and didn't get in the way as many artists might be inclined to do. He is a true professional and a great artist in his own right. Bless you both and thank you for a sublime experience I'm not likely to ever forget. I haven't cried so hard in years!

Amazingly beautiful & adorable, Amira has a real voice & can sing, the crowd loves & applauds her in appreciation 👋👋 She doesn't need Twitter, TikTok, KZread, commercials or the disgusting Grammys to parade her around like a trophy & thrown in our faces to show she's "hot"
