I kinda laugh at people who worry about Amira singing too much. Do you guys know how much an opera singer sings, not only on stage, but in practice?? Amira's singing schedule is tiny compared to the professional singers. The problem is singing too much when you get Older! When your body doesn't repair its wear and tear so well. The problem for young singers is NOT singing too much, but singing correctly, which Amira certainly is doing now. Her vocals really good, she is being very well taught.

Damn if I were not watching this video I would think I was hearing a grown woman with a beautiful sing

Unbelievable. Patrizio has a wonderful, romantic latin voice, well suited to the song. But then Amira, this beautiful little figure, releases a veritable tsunami of sound with such beauty, power and force that she almost blows Patrizio off the stage! … and he’s loving it.

She is a little goddes, but I would not put the true artist "at places" . First , second at bla, bla, bla. It's not the 100m run...., where you can measure time with 0,001s accuracy. I love her voice . Look for Laura Bretan for example - the same age, and the voice heaven send....

I think her parents gave her the name "Amira" because she was - and surely still is - their little princess ("Amira" is Arabic and means "princess".).

In Germany, where I live - and I think also in the Netherlands, where Amira lives, most of the names aren't German or Dutch. In Germany German names became old-fashioned in the early 1960s. Most of the names are of foreign origin.

Sabine, once again I thank you for your explanation. As Jonny Carson, the one time host of the TV show by the same name, used to say :" I did not know that !" No wonder I am puzzled by some of the German names. I guess there are now not too many Hans, Fritz and Karl.

Squillo is a technical term for the resonant, trumpet-like sound in the voices of opera singers. It is also commonly called "singer's formant", "ring", "ping", "core", and other terms. Squillo enables an essentially lyric tone to be heard over thick orchestrations, e.g. in late Verdi, Puccini and Strauss operas. Achieving a proper amount of squillo in any performing context is imperative.

Grant Trumbo - learn something every day! Thanks. Of course, she still needs the microphone, with her little lungs, but no doubt she'll develop. I vaguely remember Joan Sutherland saying in an interview that her voice was so loud that she had to just know she was in tune, because she couldn't hear anything else (sometimes, I suppose - not always...lol).

Amira has developed a solid fan base...and it is truly world-wide...and she hasn't really "come out" fully professionally yet. About that fan base...when I say "solid" I mean ROCK SOLID...people are just OVER THE MOON over Amira...not just "fans" but the origin of that word: FANATICAL. Amira is a true "culture bomb" of incredible proportions...really there's never been anything quite like Amira.

her "fame" as you call it is exploding because people hear her sing. End of discussion. That's the reason. It's a gift of GOD, nobody has put out a sound quite like Amira, it's like a dream fulfilled, very enchanting. I can't wait for her next album, her next video, her next performance, her next recorded song.

similarly here in USA...the classical music station in NYC which does air opera at times still hasn't aired Amira Willighagen yet. But, there's a nice video on youtube out now which overlays Maria Callas and Amira both singing O Mio Babbino Caro and - it's take your pick what difference there is...none really. It may go back to my old bone of contention from when I was in the Amira Fan Club...Amira's career is just not being handled professionally. Angelina Jordan and Grace Van Derwaall both are getting better exposure, better video presentations, and more professional audio recordings. But NONE OF THESE KIDS have quite the devoted and broad based fan acclaim that Amira has. IMHO...ty.

Has it occurred to you that Amira herself may not wish for better exposure etc. You know how determined she is to be just Amira at school and elsewhere when she is not performing etc.. Her performances and travel take quite a lot of .time for her already and it's not for us to tell her that she must take more time and make professional videos for us to watch. It's her life and her voice.

Dick, The next is "Amazing Grace" which she sung at CIG-2017. And will be on DVD too (Ithink around oct-2017 available). And don't forget her duet with Corlea Botha singing "the Flower duet!"!

There is a reaction from Amira at about 1:35 that is so sweet and so cute I had to watch it three times.

Words are not adequate to describe how beautiful this rendition of O Sole Mio was. Sometimes we're moved to tears by sadness or sorrow, and then there's the beauty of something that brings tears of joy and happiness at hearing an absolutely wonderful rendition of a timeless melody. Thanks Amira and Patricio, for the happy tears!

Amazing, just beautiful from both performers. I could watch this a million times and not tire of it. Just great!

There are many people, I'm sure with the best of intentions, who lambaste Amira's parents by telling them that Amira is going to ruin her voice by singing as she does. I can name two young girls who were singing on stage at an early age, one of whom was singing in public when she was eight years old and the other before she was twelve, Belle Silverman and Julia Wells. Many of you won't recognize their names because those are the names they were born with. One of them was Beverly Sills, one of the greatest coloratura sopranos of all time, and the other we now know as Julie Andrews. I wonder.if they had to endure the same flack when they were young as Amira has to go through today. The two I have cited had professional training and both were singing opera arias as children and they endured for decades. Amira is being taught by some of the top voice teachers available.today and I as a classically trained singer can assure you that if she continues as she is now she can have a very long and illustrious career.

I'm nor aware of her training at the present time, but I do know that when she won the "Hollands Got Talent" contest it was prior to any training at all. She is gifted with raw natural talent like I have never witnessed in my lifetime. And I am now 70 years old.

Yes! Most modern dvd players can play this dvd without any issue! BUT!!! Most modern dvd players can only change the dvd-region-code 4 times! After 4 changes the last used dvd-region-code stays active forever. So I placed the dvd on my laptop-dvd-drive and copied it to my harddisk. This way I can play it oft as I want. A handy tool for this can be found on handbrake.fr and it's free too! Please note that I'm not resposible for legal issues. At my country this procedure is legal for home-use.

Jan Boeren, thank you so very much for reminding me of the fact that a good DVD player changes its format after 4 plays of a different code, I knew that but had forgotten. I have the Classics is Groot DVD, played it twice on a LG player, I am in Australia, PAL Region 4...I play all my German DVDs on a Region Free player, ....that`s what I will do now with this one....or do the same as you and connect the laptop with a HMI cable to TV...

Frank Young I am in the U.K. and the DVD plays fine for me. I think most players sold here in recent years are 'multi-region'. (I can't guarantee that yours will play it, of course.) It also plays fine on my computer.

All I can say is Wow what a voice coming from a young girl, that's the best I heard yet, she didn't miss a beat.I give her ten gold stars.God bless that girl, what a voicw.
