She doesnt have shoes on because when she was walking one day and saw a little girl without shoes she gave up hers and the homeless girl said she would pray for her and her career. So she never wears shoes when she preforms. Such a cool girl!!

If you're not familiar with the story, I'll share that the lore around Angelina not wearing shoes when performing is that at age 6 she met a little girl her own age who was barefoot & whose feet were scarred. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes & “vowed never to appear on stage again wearing shoes until all the world’s children had them.” It harmonizes with her "old soul" gift with music.

Despite the fact that this well known classic song has been covered by numerous great singers in the past, at just 10 years old Angelina turns in an amazing, memorable performance. In addition to her incredible vocals, she also exhibits incredible stage presence & impeccable timing. Some of my other favorites include several of her outdoor Norwegian music festival performances (ages 8-10) including: What A Difference A Day Makes, Something's Got A Hold On Me & It's Now Or Never. Why does Angelina sing barefoot? When she was 6 years old, she was in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes and has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.

SHE IS 10!!!!! I couldn't believe it when I saw her sing 'I'm A Fool To Want You' acapella at 8yrs. old!!!! Since then I am always amazed but never surprised, but this one came very close. Her grasp of music and sense of melody and nuance are incomparable. The throw in that she is whatever age she is because she will always seem to be years ahead of whatever age she is really. Then there is her voice that she can alter to match whatever style she wants, or feels the music should be. God put together a perfect instrument when Angelina was formed. Plus she has the work ethic of someone consumed by her chosen art form. I don't know if she is ever not singing, or thinking about singing. I mean my favorite song from her so far is a TikTok version of Adele's, 'Love Is A Game'. She just put so much into it that you can't believe that a 16 year old could sing it like she has lived it. There are two other 2006 babies that also have tremendous gifts and work ethics to match. The first is Daneliya Tuleshova from Kazakhstan, who I feel will be a major player in the Pop world. The other is Gracie-Jayne Fitzgerald of Wales born in November of 2006 and the baby of the group. She has a voice that she could literally sing anything from Blues to Musical Theater and Broadway. I just subscribed so if you don't find your way to the to other singers I will haunt, I mean I will give you some help with links to their work. So the future of music is in good hands. Although I can appreciate her "barnburners" (to varying degrees), my favorites from her are definitely on the more subtle end of the spectrum. This one has a little of everything: that slow, deliberate intro, then the swinging middle section, and finally the inevitable - but still surprising - Big Finish (the final arrangement of which she worked out about a year before this performance). I could say more, but I'm sure I'd be repeating things already said by others here. So, back to your question about favorites: I see someone else has already suggested her "Love Is a Game" TikTok. That's definitely on my Top 10 list, and is the one on that list that is probably the best choice for your next AJ reaction, since it would bring you almost up to the present (posted last December). Plus, it would be the first "informal" performance of hers you've seen. (What this girl can do with _zero_ production and close to zero preparation, as well… it's just _ridiculous_ .) I also see that you have been pointed to her piano practice session at home when she was 9 (almost 10), where she was working out the arrrangement of this song, "Feeling Good" (as I just alluded to above). That video is certainly of great "historical interest", but I can't imagine it's on anyone's Top 10 (or 20, or 50) list, since it is, well, frankly, a bit of a trainwreck (she's trying to play along with a drummer, and the results are not pretty). But there is another video from that same practice session, where she plays (alone, mercifully) and sings Sam Smith's "Writing's on the Wall", that *is* actually on my Top 10 list. It's not nearly as rough as the "Feeling Good" one, but it's still quite imperfect: she's clearly still learning the song, and she makes several mistakes (especially one particular chord change in the pre-chorus that is bedevilling her). And she's not even _trying_ to play at a consistent tempo (and not in an "artistic" way, but in the way of someone who's learning to play a song: speeding up in the easier / more familiar parts and slowing down for the parts she's not as comfortable with). Even her singing is not perfect. (!) Not that she sings off-key, or anything. It's just that she kind of "lets go" at the end of certain notes in a way that she wouldn't do in a public performance. And she can't hit the high notes cleanly because of the "hoarseness" of her voice around the transition points between registers, which she "suffered from" at that age (you heard a little of that in "I Put a Spell on You" - especially the first time she sings "because you're mine"). But despite all these imperfections I can list, it's still one of my top, top favorites, simply because of the sound of her voice. It's just *so effing beautiful* …

This such a magical performance with the chemistry between her and the band, the recording quality is just great and the visual is beautiful. It has a beautiful build up towards the big incredible blast with so many exciting things happening on the way which you may miss the first rime around. What I also really like is how easy she stands there and how much fun she is having and how happy she is with whole thing :-)

How can you be 10 years old and have that much soul? That much attitude? No one I've ever seen. I love it. She is so young and when she sings she is transformed into something else, more mature and knowing.

This is the one that took me down the rabbit hole. Great reaction. I love this version of Feeling Good. The singing is great yes, but also look to see how she eyeballs the camera moving around her constantly. She is completely at ease with it. I think it remarkable at age 10 to do this with so much style. It's a major part of this performance.. There has always been someone around her with a camera capturing her image, so I think she has been training in this as well as training her voice. There are many tracks of the more than one hundred and fifty that will blow you away. 3 must tracks are, her audition for Norway's Got Talent, Gloomy Sunday (the version with english subtitles - quite often Norwegian is spoken in her early works- her early period ), It's a Man's World is astonishing,and I'm Still Holding Out For You (you will not believe how good a 10 year old can sing a song , nothing can prepare you for it)

Definitely one of my favourites, she had a very productive year at 10. I think you should check out "I'm still holding out for you" another great recording from when she was 10. Many believe its her best work , I believe its right up there with some of her best from this period.

10 was a very good year for AJ. She perfected her small voice then. After this her voice started the maturing process so she kinda held back at times for a year or two.

I really can't compare that song with Nina Simone`s version. Angelina put out a heartwarming, brilliant performance with all her emotion and innocence, in order, to make people happy. Nina sang this song in spite of it all, the racism, the opression, the sorrow, she was living in during that time, you could feel it all and she turned it. Absolutely different emotional conditions. And I know, Angelina Jordan loves Nina Simone (. ...don't you know... 😉) And though Nina`s version has something holy for me, both versions are like two sides of the same coin, like ying&yang... Maybe even Nina Simone could agree with that...

To understand how this little girl is able to work professionally you also have a look at this test recording of this song. At the risk of thinking that it is impossible for a little girl ... this is Angelina, who at 8 (2 years before) is already working on her arrangement of "Feeling Good", in a backstage and there are also other small similar recordings in those years.
