    Could have to do with the "Secret Palpatine" plotline, (which is a perfectly nice thing to complain about in its own right). I mean he's the one who talked about the secret knowledge of life in the first place, it was just not in his interest to heal Padme. (Or even fully heal Anakin for that matter.)

    @ignas 1011001 Well, the Jedi are objectively right within the Star Wars universe. It actually would interfere with the Will of the Force. The Force in Star Wars actually has a will and doesn't want the Jedi to prevent death. They are supposed to make people's lifes better, not prolong them. When any Star Wars character dies, they become one with the cosmic Force. (It's that stuff about the living Force and the cosmic Force sustaining each other.) Only Sith and other darksiders don't become one with the Force because their unnatural use of the Force severed them from this cycle. (Which is why death is their greatest fear. Death is actually final for them.) In other words, Sith actually die, everyone else doesn't. Powerful light side Force-sensitives can learn to become a Force ghost. Through this form they can influence and interact with the physical world even though they are no longer part of the living Force.

The back-and-forth with the sequel trilogy makes it terribly inconsistent. Not just between last Jedi and rise of Skywalker, but the Force Awakens and Last Jedi too. @@AWriterWandering I'm not sure about TLJ's relationship to TFA, but I do know it was Rian Johnson's vision as a fan. I think it makes sense some fans would agree and others wouldn't, because fans are different. It's also why I'm sure (and have already seen) that TLJ stands the test of time. I'll always hold TFA dear though, because what many forget is that before TFA existed, the Prequels were still ruining lives even without the internet. TFA may be a copy of ANH, but people are kidding themselves if they think the fanbase didn't need that. TFA healed this fanbase. TRoS meanwhile is made with good intentions, but terrible, terrible judgement. My two cents, only TRoS needs to change. TRoS is not the movie anyone really wanted to make. I've heard John Favreau (made Mandalorian) tried to take the reigns, but everyone was too scared to rock the boat again, and that backfired miserably. For what its worth though, TRoS has great practical affects. It's still a good movie, but it's like if Solo a Star Wars Story took RotJ's place.

    11th if you go by continuity. To be fair though the entire franchise is just one long string of "fuck it, throw it in" with no real rhyme or reason, it started as a mess and just got more bloated with nonsense as more and more writers jumped on board. It's a pretty enjoyable watch once through though, not high art but not a waste of time either if you can appreciate weird sci-fi settings and laser swordfights.

    Grogu is older than Rey and his background is generally unknown. He don't know what kind of training, if any, he's had. So it's easier to believe he can do certain things, especially when he has the weakness of it taking a lot out of him and making him pass out. For Rey, we know that she has had no training and that she didn't even train herself because she didn't even know the Jedi existed. She's basically in the place of Han when Luke starts his training. So just imagine if Han started to do all the shit Rey does. It would be dumb, right? Instead what they should have done was had Rey's backstory be vague, have her know the Jedi and the force exist. Have her be a bit more jaded and less starry eyed. Then we can more readily accept her abilities because we don't know that she's had zero training and is a complete Mary sue. Instead we can think "what if she's a Jedi in hiding or is self taught." Things like that. Also, we all know the only reason they had Grogu do that shit was to make up for Rey doing it. You just know some exec forced that into the script to make up for another one of Reys Mary Sue moments and make it seem like it isn't completely unique to her. Like they are saying "See? She isn't a Mary Sue, the babu can do it to. Which is somehow better"

  • @dvmpld9103

    @dvmpld9103

    2 жыл бұрын

    I think it's partially about how it is presented, Grogu was trained by several masters, and Ahsoka says that he has a lot of fear in him. Maybe one of his masters taught him how to channel the fear of loss in order to heal allies, but this connection to fear turned this into a forbidden technique for the Jedi. The Jedi were very afraid of anything that could "lead to the Dark Side".

Kotor's force heal kinda falls in a middle ground here. it can be used to heal the self, wich would normally have it fall under meditation. but it can also heal allies, we could chalk this up to game mechanics.... or we can go with some of the old rebuplic books and use the logic that the light side of the force was stronger, so it used less of the users life. tldr: it got less common as time progressed.

    It's all a circular firing squad though, as the whole reason Padme was going to die in childbirth all along was Anakin's fall and her losing the will to live (weak plotline, I know). In theory, Anakin also could have saved Padme by just killing himself, or at least going off to be a hermit somewhere remote like Yoda did on Dagobah. But mostly it is all BS, just because Kathleen Kennedy wanted Rey to be "the bestest girl evar" and "The Force is Female". Don't even get me started on JJ and his Schrodinger's Plotlines, or Rian and his subperversions of expectations. Poor George. If only the prequel trilogy had been just a little better, and more well received, he might not have ever sold to The Rat, and we wouldn't have had to see it all run into the ground.
