What Fi said is correct. That is the advice my grandmother who’s a midwife and helped hundreds of women get pregnant. Basically do it before ovulation because once it’s already down the tube, it’s too late. Also quitting alcohol and caffeine for the men helps the mobility of the swimmers.

Thank you Fi for sharing your weight loss struggles. As someone who was always shamed for always being hungry and thinking about food, I understand how difficult it can be to find a sustainable lifestyle around food.

Hi ladies! I wanted to comment about Fi’s “food noise” experiences. I have had food noise as far back as I can remember and I always thought that was normal because that’s all I’ve known. But then when people started talking about food noise and that it isn’t how everyone is/thinks then it was an a-ha moment for me. I started semaglutide in March also. The very first thing I noticed was that the food noise was gone. I also noticed that it helped with my adhd (brain wise lol). I felt like I could finally breathe and just be. Thank you both for talking about things that don’t really get talked about! I love you both!!❤❤❤

Love hearing fi using the ozempic properly. I work in the healthcare industry and see woman abusing it to the point of them getting osteoporosis and underrating and have full blown eating disorders. Can’t wait to see fi’s health journey and Mari preggers xoxo

I love the honesty thank you both!! Fi how do you find a reputable doctor that will give it to you if you aren’t pre diabetic? I have a hard time finding that and I relate to you so much on why you got on it

Wegovy and Zepbound are FDA approved for overweight (BMI > 27) and obesity (BMI > 30). You do not need to have pre-diabetes. My endocrinologist, a very reputable doctor, prescribed it to me when my BMI qualified and I did not have pre-diabetes.

This podcast is literally called “pursuit of WELLNESS” yet you have Fiona (basically the cohost of the show) admit that she’s on ozempic…..After all of the amazing wellness guests you have had. After all of the amazing conversations on root cause healing and holistic approaches to health… what an absolute joke

Everyone’s wellness journey is different. If you’ve never been overweight especially as a child, you should take a seat. It’s more of a tool not a magic wand. I totally know what Fi is talking about, I’ve lost and gained weight plenty of times the natural way. It’s much harder for to lose and maintain weight loss If you grow up with weight/food issues as a kid. I’m So glad Fi shared her story!!

It so hard for people like Fi to share their experiences. We finally have medicine that truly helps people with overweight and obesity meet the health goals that have eluded them, often for decades. How could you listen to her story and not be compassionate? If you have not been overweight and/or experienced food noise, please know that you can’t understand what it’s like for those who have. Fi - thank you so so much for sharing your story. Unfortunately it requires a lot of bravery right now. I am hopeful that people like you talking about it will help inform those who haven’t been touched by this personally.

@@lilyscholz1290 ozempic is “medicine” intended for those that suffer with type 2 diabetes, not those looking for an easy way out of being slightly overweight. If you read my comment, I mention root cause healing which is basically the premise of this entire podcast. How is injecting yourself weekly with a drug that suppresses your appetite, deteriorates your muscles, ruins your gut microbiome, and a host of other issues, pursuing wellness? They more than likely have tons of (young) girls that listen to their episodes and are incredibly influenced by what they say. Having this information on a “wellness” podcast is dangerous. How can you have wellness experts come on here talking about the importance of nutrition, exercise, sun exposure, stress management, etc., and then admit you’re taking a very damaging drug? It makes absolutely no sense and it’s such a shame.

@mgomez601 The peptide in name-brand Ozempic, semaglutide, *is* FDA-approved for the treatment of overweight (BMI > 27) and obesity (BMI > 30) under the name brand Wegovy. Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) is FDA-approved for chronic obesity management under the name brand Zepbound. I agree they are not meant for people trying to lose small amounts of weight for cosmetic reasons. We all agree on that. GLP-1/ GIP medications do not deteriorate muscle or ruin your gut microbiome. Those ideas have been countered by experts in many places, including this podcast. The appetite suppression is not a simple false sense of fullness. These medications allow people’s brains to quiet so that they feel hungry when they are hungry and full when they are full. That’s it. Taking these medications is not “easy”. They are expensive, injectable medications that are in constant shortage. And they require healthy eating and movement to work. Fi and Mari discussed the latter point during this episode - the people taking these medications for chronic overweight or obesity are not injecting one moment and getting fast food the next. The medication helps them make the healthy choices they’ve been trying to for so long. These people are taking their health very seriously and putting in huge amounts of effort, and they deserve our respect. I understand that you genuinely believe these medicines are hurting people. For the vast majority, they aren’t. Discouraging people from exploring the option of taking life-changing medicines can hurt people.
