It's not just Bentley drivers,many other drivers of many other car makes have served their Nob apprenticeship and are fully fledged members. And surprisingly enough there's one or two Nobhead motorcyclists about too,unfortunately

When I was training to be an HGV driver many years ago, I was told that you need the idiots in front of you not behind you so you can see what there doing.

@@hudson7354 Please don’t tarnish every hgv driver with the same brush. When I’m travelling at 50mph (the speed limit for hgv’s) on an A road some car, van drivers are that impatient to get past, their the ones who cause havoc. Lost count of how many drivers lives I’ve saved by braking to let them past before they have a head on crash. Just saying.

My late father told me something similar. The only thing you need to worry about is the vehicle directly in front of you.

Many many years ago I learnt a whole series of lessons from a guy in a Porche. I was behind coming off a roundabout, as I was on a newish at the time FZR1000 I pulled out to pass. He lurched out just as I started passing to pass the sierra in front of him. Being a fairly wide road I dodged right but carried on passing him. Being somewhat distracted neither of us spotted the speed trap at the next roundabout. They pulled us both, but decided they only wanted a word with the Porche driver. I escaped scot free from two bad situations that day, learning to pay much more attention to what is happening around me in ALL directions.

Most of the knobs drive BMWs so easy to identify. Bentleys, Range Rovers and Porsche SUV drivers are also in that category. Another stereotype is the mum on on the school run with screaming kids in the back. Driving standards have dropped since covid lockdowns.

I don't believe it's marque specific. More of a market sector which is nob-heavy. Mid-range "satus" saloons/SUVs with a cheap personlised reg, which means nothing to anybody except the owner.

I expect there’s an option in the Bentley that you can buy that constantly repeats’ You can overtake because you are special’ 😂

Absolutely terrifying on a public road as well. There doesn’t seem to be any etiquette on the Uk roads anymore. Just got to keep yourself and the bike safe 😊👍

Yeah, when I was a lot younger the phrase they drummed into you was “ Drive Courteously”. Seems like a joke now.

Whilst we are seeing a car driver act like a nob head, I am not saying that the rider was one but at 2.16 we are about to overtake a lorry and there was visibly a nearside junction warning sign some 150 yards before a junction. The biker continued to overtake and passed the lorry and the junction. If there had been a driver waiting to come out from that junction the biker would have been invisible being behind and or to the offside of that lorry and there could have been an accident. Just my observations.

Use your observation skills to see what the rider saw before making the overtake. Looking past the lorry on the nearside there is a clear line of sight across two possible hazards. There are no vehicles or people near the lefthand intersection or near the lay-by. After that the lorry was overtaken very wide to give maximum line of sight for the rider. Sure, it's the mindset of the driver. l was followed by a guy in an Aston Martin a couple of days ago. he followed at a respectful distance, wasn't driving like a Boy Racer...He didn't feel the need to prove his car accelerated like 'Shyte off a Hot Shiny Shovel' or had a top speed of 190 MPH....50 MPH more than my Bike by the way..!!

Bike riders do tend to hurtle into blind corners. Obstacle avoidance techniques get left at home. Pity any pedestrian negotiating the grass line along these tight country roads.

Send the vid to the local plod who ever it was will get a driving course or points .

It's not the vehicle but the driver....in just over sixty years riding I've seen this ...and worse many times. Its not always those driving 'Top End Cars' but any number of other lesser vehicles...Its just that its those few who get all the attention on KZread...My only advice is treat 'all' Cagers as possible assassins, and act accordingly...as you did in this particular incident...

Well he owns a Bentley & obviously thinks he owns the road as do Range Rover Drivers & BMW too, i drive a car but make room for Bikers to pass whenever i can & it's safe.

I thought peopel buy those SUVS so that they can see over the bonnet and round bend?😅 Money does not buy brain.😅

Stick everyone who drives a car on a bike for a few months then see how they are behind the wheel. My best times were on 2 wheels but that was yesrs ago before the roads were taken over by muppet drivers
