But police used their discretion, de-escalated the situation. No problem with that at all. Could have attacked the horse, people could do lots of things, he didn't. I dont see a problem with having a beer/drink in public unless it affects other people, like this. Folks like this are likely idiots regardless whether drinking or not ruin it for everyone when they ban drinking in public places or bring in other laws for them, instead of using existing laws to deal with the issues. Politicians love to look like they are doing something when infact they are doing nothing, the knife laws are the same, ban machetes or whatever the latest nonsense was, most knife crimes are committed with a kitchen knife, they gonna ban them? No, but it looks good on TV to ban machetes/zombie knives when in actual fact its not gonna do anything irl A beer in the park, beach....on a nice summers day is lovely but some folk shouldn't drink at all unfortunately, brings out the real arsehole in them! The second guy seems to be the case and point here, the first guy may have some mental health issues. Should just have lifted them for public Intoxication and being a nuisance, dont need anymore laws restricting what we can and cant do, theres enough already. This has happened in areas in Scotland and now you cant enjoy a beer in the park on a summer's day! Really annoying as I used to love having a couple of beers sat in the sun, which isn't often in Scotland. Now we cant or we get a fine and you could lose your job depending upon what it is. There was no need for another law as they could already be lifted for public Intoxication/being a nuisance/drunk and disorderly, before the open container law was brought in. The comments stating its drugs aswell are hilarious, it is drugs, but its alcohol and these comments aren't insinuating alcohol from what I can gather unless I am wrong but I get the feeling I am not! THE biggest social drug problem is alcohol, whatever way you look at it, impact on emergency services, police, fights, health ... go to any city centre and A and E on basically any night of the week now and alcohol is your biggest issue, not crack, heroin, meth....its booze! 🍻🥂🍷🍹🍾 Increase fines dramatically for drunken disorderly behaviour and start charging folk a whack for their stay in the cells for "cooling off" and I'd bet some would start to think twice about their behaviours when drunk. For those that will say they wont pay, jail em for their fines, happens already, but alot of younger ones growing up would likely change their behaviours if they got a 500 quid fine for a night in the cells instead of just getting let out once sober, dont pay it, 2 days in the proper jail and I'm guessing behaviours may change, worth a shot anyway 🤷‍♂️

Whether it is deservedly or not, it is obvious nobody really cares for this man. There used to be institutions that could accommodate these types of people. Funding cuts and economic rationalization has seen them dwindle into non-existence. so now there is nowhere safe for them to go and nowhere where they can be safely permitted to interact with the public .

This kind of behaviour will not be tolerated in many countries of the world. One would be locked up for such behaviour especially whislt in possession of an open bottle on alcohol and feeding horses. Cops here were just watching. Cops should be given more powers here in the UK.

Powers already there. I'm sure it is an offence to be drunk on a public street. And on another comment, don't liken us to the shizers, that is American and the shite house, oops White.

These cops are way easier than the one here in America! I counted about 10 violations, and they still never arrested him, and not so much as a warning! All i can say is Wow
