I got out of debt this year after 26 years with it bringing me down. There is nothing that I want to buy for exchange of debt. Living debt free and taking a hike is better for your health and life than throwing $500-$4000 dollars on a week away from home.

There is really no harm in using credit card as long we pay all statement balance at due date. I have been using credit card for 20 years and rack up thousands in cash back reward. I’ll admit there is 3-4 times I forgot to make payment and got late penalty fee, but the cash back makes up for all that and more. I only use cc for mostly necessities like grocery, gas, occasional restaurants nothing frivolous. I do think credit card offer great advantage for people with good self-discipline. You should try and take advantage of it.

I haven't been on a vacation since 2019. I'm going in next week to test if these bone tumors are benign or cancer. If it's cancer, I've always wanted to skydive over Montana. I've saved enough back for a simple trip. I hope it's not, but I want to go do that before I start any treatments. It won't be fancy, but I won't be in debt.

a Loan for vacation is pretty scary. I remember being on vacation in my 20s and this guy in his 50s from the South was there with his family and he told me it was his first vacation. Initially I thought he was kidding, but he wasn't. He super nice to the staff and seemed to be really having a good time. Meanwhile, there were people there who you could tell were well off and they just looked bored and annoyed. They were always complaining about this or that.

Problem with deflation in order to get there, is you need an massive employment. I've experienced the deflation in the 90s Sweden: * No food to eat. Had to eat in School double lunches in order not to starve. * Had no electricity. * Lost our home. I'm telling you, deflation is WORST that inflation. Even it gets cheaper everyone else, Sweden had an economically depression from 1992 to 2001. That is almost an decade. Some to whom had huge debt, is still to this day bankrupt. It destroyed a lot of peoples life.

I had to move in with my ex husband because I can no longer work and I am waiting to hear from disability, between his income and when our son starts working they will bring in right around 70K a year. My dad was able to own land with a home, 2 cars, an RV and a boat plus take us on vacation on 30K a year. I really have to blame to cost of products for half the problem that people cant get and do things anymore. There really is a major cost problem vs income these days and taxes are not helping anyone.

Doom spending is exactly what it is I think. I wonder too how many people are feeling faux rich. Still living with their parents and saving up for a house say. Then they look at their bank account that now has say 30k in it and they've been grinding for a couple years to accomulate for a few years and say hey I'm going to Cabo for 2 weeks with a friend, I've earned it. Ie their eye gets off the ball, that 30k isn't something for you to decide how to spend its 30k towards a larger number you need for something you've already decided to buy. Saving can be a grind but you can't afford to play till you got the things you need imo. Sad reality of being an adult.

Being the advocates devil in a way I can understand. There is so much stupidity going on around the world and especially here in the US that something it just tires out the mind. Meanwhile at work you can see a lot of people having do stress and do everything they desire. Especially for younger generations who see boomers with all their assets. Not because they only worked hard too. But simply because their money had much more value at the time. The quote work to live seems extremely backwards into live to work for most people. Why multi corporations usually rarely share the wealth except their CEO’s. You only live once. If you have a dream or a goal do it when your young and you can share it with loved ones before your in the hamster wheel for years and realize your played either way.

Also take in that taxes are the highest they have ever been in America and we have a few generations doomed from the start. We are taxed on everything except the air we breathe, heaven forbid a politician sees this comment and get an idea, which really doesnt help. Most of our best paying jobs were sent over seas to make things "cheaper" for us to buy. That lead to further problems with people not having good stable work that you didnt need 80-100K debt to get. I support journeyman and apprentice programs, cause they really help if people dont mind hard work.

I don't know about anyone else but when I was in 7th-8th grade we had a local banker come in and explain all of this to us, proper savings, CD's, retirement prep, credit cards, interest, even taxes. This was in public school not private. Are they not teaching these things anymore? *edit* I'll be 50 next year so maybe this is something they stopped doing after I went to school. But there were several things that I don't think they do anymore like home economics, auto shop, drafting, wood working, government &economics, and work program, maybe we were prepped more for life back then it seems a shame that they would cut any of those classes.

Funny thing is you can't really buy a home in this Union because we technically own all the homes. What's funny is in the whole world and in this Union you cannot buy land it can only be given taken or created. Buying land from the government you don't own it they have no right to own it. You're basically buying it from yourself. That you already paid for in taxes so technically all the homes that nobody's living in that are already built go claim it. Or l build your own

@@rex-jr2lz what pain like double or triple for a house you've already paid for in taxes. And then paying illegal property tax and mortgage on property you already already paid for. I know exactly how the real world works. In this Union the government doesn't own anything of land except for their own private property and businesses. But when you are voted in the office no matter what it is you're there to safeguard the land and protect it. Because the land belongs to the people and countries in unions that are supposed to be republics.

I have tried to explain this to so many young people and they dont get it. You are right. Most of the land in America can be taken if you dont pay your taxes, so you are basically renting the land from the government even if you own your home free and clear. Skip your taxes and you will find out really quit how little you actually own.

The amount of common sense advice the advertisements enticing us to rhese vacations (not to mention ones we work with going on these vacations) isn't enough to sway people. That leads to people getting themselves into serious trouble, and we are the ones who get the blame and pay the price. There are others responsible for this as well, but they get off scott free and continue making a killing.
