Lived in the bush all my life and it truly is a very safe country with common sense and awareness . I look at the news of the world and think how blessed i am to live in Australia.

I've also lived in the bush most of my life and even though we have awareness doesn't mean we don't have close calls lol but I do have to disagree with it being a safe country. Yes we aren't going to die to the wildlife but the people are a different story. Currently there is a man on the loose the town near me stabbing people.
Australians survive joyfully - that’s how (and by politely leaving other creatures to their own devices)
National Geographic has a lot to answer for. It’s called wildlife, every nation deals with it’s own.
As a Australian I would be more scared of Bears or Mountain lions in amrica so I guess its just what you grow up with. And yes Koala have Chlamydia

Exactly. I've always said, idk why Americans are scared of our spiders and snakes when they have fucking bears
The Cassowary and Irukandji boxed jellyfish are more located up northern Queensland rather the southern and middle eastern coast of Australia. If you leave these animals alone and don’t antagonise them they leave you alone. We were also taught to wrap up the bite wound if it’s a snake or spider and go straight to hospital even if you can’t identify them.
I live in Eastern Australia and nothing bothers us. Yes there are sharks and spiders but honestly. you barely see these animals/creatures. Just make sure you shake your shoes before you put them on and check the local beach guides. Queensland Australia is stunningly beautiful.

Also depends where you live. Living out bush, ive had copper head snakes slither in under my kitchen door
Remember when you were a kid and your parents took you into a fancy shop while they were looking for something, and they'd say "keep your hands in your pockets". That's pretty much it. :) Australia is the land of "Keep your hands in your pockets", and dont' fuck with anything. The funny thing is, most of our deadliest critters won't come near you if you don't go near them. Really, only Crocodiles, Sharks, some jellyfish, and maybe the odd cassowary will come at you, but you have to be near their territories in the first place. Most cities aren't.
Dont look up the Gympie Gympie plant then....
Yeah.. 🤘 Straya 🇦🇺 We are raised right down here! Easy to educate when we aren't hiding under school desks from assault rifles. A funnel web spider may only kill one person today. 👍

No one ever hid under school desk when we all had assault rifles. We got educated better back then. We need the 2nd Amendment in Australia.
A lot of the animals in the video are from northern Aus, down south where I am it’s tiger snakes, eastern brown snakes, great white sharks, red back spiders (similar to a black widow) and blue ringed octopus to worry about.. so it’s not to bad
But note, we don't have bears, rattlesnakes, mountain lions (or any big cats), Giant Asian Hornets, alligators (yes, we have crocs). Also, there's no rabies in Australia. 😮

Ok. I'm a city slicker in South Australia. But grew up camping and surfing alot. The most dangerous past time involving creatures in Australia is surfing in Western Australia. We dont have Funnel Webs but large Huntsman spiders are considered pets in SA. Theyre harmless but very big. Every home has one somewhere. 75% of the time they are on a wall. The rest of the time theyre under the couch youre on. Or bedside table. If you hurt one. Your dad may never forgive you. Serious. But the most awesome and intimidating thing youre likely to encounter while camping is the Brown Snake. They dont want anything to do with humans but if you go where they are your instincts will immediately tell you this is one bad MF. They are 3 metres of pure muscle and look at you like theyre saying " you wanna try it with me? ". Youre crazy if you swim anywhere near box jellyfish. Who needs that hell? And Cassowaries are in rainforests off the beaten track. Youll never see one. But it would be great if you did. Keep a safe distance. As a kid this stuff becomes second nature to Aussies.

You just pay the food tax, and the magpies and plovers will become your best mates. Leave the snakes and the ratites alone and they’ll avoid you. Know your local snake catcher’s number, and don’t corner a nope rope if it invites itself into your home. Never put your hand into a spot you can’t see unprotected. Simples!

I live in Sydney Australia. I’ve never encountered a Funnel Web Spider except behind glass in a zoo. The number one Spider I put up with in the rental my husband and I live in is The Daddy Longlegs or Cellar Spider ( Utterly harmless) The number two Spider is Huntsman. Never been vaguely hurt by one of them yet. In fact I try to catch them and release them out in the yard near a fence ( try to catch is the word seeing as these Spiders can move and run away from you real quick. I’ve had to dispatch the odd Redback Spider or Widow Spider though ( But as an American I don’t think I need to educate You about Widow Spiders) And just yesterday morning I was doing some cleaning up and declutterring in one room and saw what I thought was a piece of lint inside a white cardboard box. So I reached in to dislodge it, only to find out it was some grey looking Spider of one sort or another. Had to despatch it as well. And nothing happened to me. No bite, no aggression from said critter. But safe to say I won’t be making that same mistake again though. As to the other creatures seen in this post I’ve only seen The King Brown and Cassowary in Zoos. The other two in this post I’ve never seen them anywhere in my life… Oh I have seen Koalas in zoos. And they’ve mainly been asleep resting on a branch of a Eucalyptus Tree… Yes each of those creatures can be deadly but not as deadly as a Mosquitoes are. And those things live in most ( not all) parts of the world…… ⚛️☮️🌏
Your doctor's like sure you got a venereal from getting peed on by an animal😂😂😂😂😂
I live in Australia and this show is 100% accurate... IF anything it could have shown WORSE!
OH it isn't that bad, all those Animals live in Eastern Australia, I live in Western Australia and we don't have those spiders, birds, and even the Koala don't originate from here only in the east coast, yes you can go see Koala in the zoo but they don't live in the bush on this side, though there are things that will kill you happily on this side but not to the existent as over there...Australia is a fascinating beautiful country, you can walk out your door one day and get hit by a bus but being afraid of that isn't living...

Koalas are not bears. They are marsupials. Please listen to Don Spencer singing ‘Please Don’t Call Me a Koala Bear’.
I was in a place called Etty Bay in far north Queensland, and a habitat area for them. The local at the check in for our stay told us to stand up and raise our arms should they approach you or are nearby. Quite an experience 😂😂 we even went in the water, after having observed around 20 people in the water and no one screaming, in we went, briefly. That's crocodile country up there, alongside the sharks, deadly jellyfish and murky waters.
I live in Sydney and as long as you know funnel webs habits they're easy to avoid. Plus we now have anti venom. Funnel webs are different to other spiders as the male is bigger and more deadly than the female, and are like a flacca addict for aggression. 🕸

In Australia 20 people die each year due to horses. The last recorded death due to spider bite was in 1979. Only 2 people die due to snake bite each year on average. So the horse is the deadliest animal here.

You grow up being aware of the dangers in your area. There are a couple of dangerous spiders and a heap of dangerous snakes in my area. I always get nervous in American/European films when they walk through long grass. Wild koala's are filthy. The ones in the zoo are ok.
I’m from Australia 🇦🇺 I never knew about the sea shells. Geez I picked a few up like that months back and something was in it, lucky I dropped it.. 3 snakes in my suburban home yard this year, huge python, brown snake & a black snake 🐍 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍 That’s Queensland for you, not a fan of snakes or spiders
How do we Australians survive? We're tough!! And also very, very, lucky
Carefully , that's How.
Only thing that frightens me or anyone else in Aus is the common drop bear, SCARY AS HELL AND TWICE AS DANGEROUS!
G'day to you! Shock, Horror ,they didn't Mention the Drop Bear!
I'm 30 years old, I live in a major city in Australia, the only one of these I've encountered is the funnel web spider and even then, kept a good distance from it. You learn about things and safety and survival tools, and you'll be fine. Cassowaries can also hear your heartbeat so they know exactly where to strike, very dangerous and only found up in the northern parts of Australia. Yes, most koalas carry a strain of chlamydia, but it isn't transferable to humans.

But the thing is, there's a big difference between bush living and city living. Love all of these creatures, Always feel privileged to encounter one of them. They are all fascinating, unfortunately people would rather kill them than appreciate them.
A friend of mine got attacked by a cassowary on a beach and it even followed him into the surf when he took his board and paddled.
Normally we are not going about our day and having to deal with these creatures, the same way I assume you as an American are not dealing with bears, cougars and mountain lions on the daily. The only one on this list that scares me is the funnel web but I live in another state from where it lives so we are all good. 😂
It's not that bad here. Still alive after 50 years. It basically comes down to understanding your surroundings, being aware, and respecting nature around you. Cities are pretty safe, more wildlife out in rural areas (obviously), and a plethora of things to deal with up north, including salties.. As for the irukandji, apparently the worst part is the psychotropic effect, with overwhelms you with an impending sense of doom. The guy at 5:04 collects them for scientific research, and has been stung about 3 times from them.
8:02 and ur insides will be falling out worse case scenario
Cassowary don't slice through skin they slice through flesh!! :)
As many deadly 'humans' in the states as deadly animals here. Plus u got bears, aligators, rattlesnakes, wild boar, big cats, and other scary stuff too. But humans are the most dangerous animal on the planet! ...we got our share of it here too,but nowhere near as bad as the states. Many places over there you cant even go for a midnight stroll without being in danger. Think about that.
can we make a group trip to Australia with MrlBoyd? live reaction video?

I don't think Mulga snakes are that widespread. I could be wrong. We tend to have Eastern Brown snakes in the East - which I guess makes sense.

I think you're thinking these animals are more widespread than they actually are. And if you're a little bit wary, they present no problems in general. At least we don't have bears.
Well at least we don't have Mountain Lions, Bears, Wolves, Lions, Tigers etc. All countries have poisonous snakes and spiders.

Most of those animals and the Cassowary are in the far North of our Country. Don’t try to hug them. I live in The North but in the Sub Tropics so we can swim all year round and we do have a lot of Eastern Brown snakes but they don’t want to see us either. We are raised with common sense and respect for our wildlife. I have two young giant pythons loose in my house. They came inside in a box we didn’t know they were in. I watch out for them and not because I am afraid of them. I have to find them before they are big enough to swallow my very small dogs. I do not want to hurt one but I will to get my dog back.

Snakes do NOT like biting people...that is their last defence. They would rather escape if they can. Plus half of the images were of eastern Brown Snakes...again would rather escape if possible.
Nah, most of these are on the east coast or tropics. I'll stick with the temperate conditions of South Australia. Sure we have Great White Sharks, Brown Snakes, Red Belly Black Snakes but in the 38 years I've lived here, never seen a Great White and only came across a total of 5 of those snakes I've mentioned. Most times the snakes will just go the opposite way from you. More likely to get harmed by a fellow human than an animal
OH HELL NO!
Look up the 2 Emu wars we lost
We are just tough
This of course is all highly exaggerated ... I live fully in the range of 7 deadly snakes and the tree funnel web spider, (worse than the ones shown) ... I've never seen a funnel-web in the last 20 years and we have seen a snake near the house precisely once., and I live on a rural property. Also, the mulga snake, while it has caused deaths, is far from Australia's deadliest snake.. Cassowaries are confined to their north rainforests, not all over the country, but they can be fierce and those claws are like daggers, Cone shell snails are rather rare and not strewn around every beach, only The Great Barrier Reef. Irukandji jellyfish can, on rare occasions, kill, but they are seasonal, and sensible people stay out of the ocean then, The bigger box jellyfish can certainly be lethal, but they are also seasonal, and deaths are rare. The bad news is that climate change is extending their range.
Now you know why we don't need a big military 😂
How do we survive? We're just built different :)
Yup, tap your shoes together before putting them on. It's a small price to pay, knowing our kids will come home from school alive.
Maybe they survive by internalizing the hatred nature gives and surviving theough sheer pettiness.

How to survive is don't fuck with them and have respect. It's not rocket science. 🙄
No!!!!!???!?!;!-;!!?
Some of the video is misleading with images and videos not being of the animal they are describing. Also, let's stop acting like these animals are everywhere. For example, the amount of land the cassowary can be found when compared to the size of the rest of the country is smaller than the size of Rhode Island to the US. To put it in perspective, I'm 37 and lived in Australia my whole life. I go out regularly and other than a bunch of spiders (Not the Funnel Web, there are none of them in my state) and 3 snakes (not King Browns, it's very rare to find any near where I live) that never came near me I have not come across any of these animals outside of a Zoo.

Only thing that bothers me is stupid people who believe in all this crap about oh I ain't going there it's too dangerous.
