Imagine living in the time that this music was on the radio. Leaving the dial on one station was normal. Hearing a crappy song got our attention because it was so rare. Have a great evening.

out here in Los Angeles, that station was 94.7 KMET. every six months or so i'd have to spin the dial just to break the oxidation that had set in...lol

You're so right. I listened to the same station. The dial never moved. I was in my early teens when this song came out. My station was WFMF in Baton Rouge, LA. Those were the days. Great comment.

These guys were popular when I was a teenager. I distinctly remember listening to them, but thinking their stuff was "soft" as I was a rocker back then. Now, I can appreciate what they were doing... the vocals and harmonies, the Hammond B3, etc. Great stuff that was way ahead of my taste back in the day. Glad you're helping bring it back to the forefront where it belongs.

It's ironic how you say "goin' to church!" whenever those organ parts kick in -- that's what those Hammond electric organs were originally designed and marketed for, as an alternative for smaller churches which didn't have the money (or space) for huge pipe organs. The Hammond Organ Company never expected them to become a staple of R&B and rock music! :-)

But I’ve not seen any (except India’s) that really keeps me tracking right along with you. I grew up with most of the music you are playing too. I’m 61. When you said you were an old soul and could listen to this kind of music every night I knew you were truly an old soul. Keep on playing them, I’ll keep watching 😍 Signed “Child of the 70’s”

“When the pain of love surrounds you, and the world may be unkind, I’ll put my lovin’ arms around you, take you far from this place and time”. No denying the beauty of David Pack’s lyrics. What a talented singer/songwriter! I was 25 when this song came out, and a huge Ambrosia fan.

Jamel, Sirius XM’s 70’s on 7 is a great place to start. You’ll hear all these songs! Sometimes I wished that I worked with you, just so I could help expose you to all this great music in person. I think I am a few years older than you, and it’s almost unbelievable to me that despite the fact that we both grew up at close to the same time period, that you are only now discovering this music in your 40s, when I feel like I have known these songs for most of my life!! I guess I was fortunate that I had family and friends who listened to all different types of music while I was growing up, and I made it a point to learn who sings what song, etc. And even if I knew no one who listened to a specific genre of music, I was never intimidated or discouraged from discovering it on my own. At least you’re finding it now, and there is a treasure trove of songs and bands for you to discover... I suppose that’s quite exciting!

You can NEVER TRULY LOVE these songs unless it was a crutch for you in times of relationship crisis or you are a hopeless romantic. Remember, its the WORDS that made the MUSIC and you can test this theory because any man or woman who truly loves these songs knows 99.9999999% of the Words. There is nothing quite like when the singer connect and intertwine his voice to make it almost sound like another instrument. It’s smooth like butta. For real. It’s almost takes you away with the song, you can get lost in it. So dang Smoooooooooooth. I have had the unique advantage of being born in the early 70’s but was the tagalong little sister to my older brothers who were 10, 8 & 6 years older than me, so my musical vault starts far older than I am. I was dragged to roller skating rinks and all the teenage hangouts. I wasn’t too much of a bother and so all their girl friends loved me, took me under their wing like their little mascot to put make up on and do my nails. Great memories to have. Also, my mom was very much into music too so we always had the oldies playing at home. And visiting my grandmother too with her big band music, Glenn Miller and all those greats. And so the musical soundtrack to my life is like no other I know, except my siblings,, starts at around the 1940’s and goes up until today ❤️ 🎼
