I just discovered this "riding the coattails" "deal". Too bad; Melon lost a deal and you lost a commission. [Sorry, I tried. :( ] Being a learning novice at the pre-creator stage, I don't have the $$$ to toss around like that (saving for equipment) Thanks for the videos, though.

YES YES YES!!! You can bring in OBS with the virtual cam into Melon. Just start OBS and when you select your camera while in Melon you'll see OBS Virtual Cam as a choice.

It doesn't support 60fps 1080p (only 30fps). As a game streamer, 60fps is a must. Nice video though. That deal does look killer. If I was doing a talk show I'd definitely grab it.

Yes, you are correct, 60fps is not an option. Yes, this software is a no brainer for live talks.

Scott, are you also green-screening through Camtasia? It's rare, but at times I'm able to catch really slight motion-tracking gaps. If so, are you using a literal green or blue screen behind you (standard, etc) or does Camtasia offer an smart key option, like Teams, Melon, etc? Yours looks much too clean to be the latter of the two. I'm just above newbie status, so any tips would help!

This video is time sensitive. I had to get it out the door. I'm using my crap C922 camera on this video. One of the important lessons about KZread is content (not video quality) is what's important.

@@ScottFichter Agreed about content. I have a C922x myself, but have a very poor recording space (visually). With integrated graphics, the 922 is okay for meetings, but terrible for produced content. I was just curious about your keying, in particularly. If I could discover a way to key out my background while still retaining decent quality, I might be in business with my own crap 922x lol

Hey Scott. I use OBS to Zoom. How does Melon play into this set up? It seems like an addition step where little glitches can happen?

Melon is essentially Zoom. The primary difference is that you can stream to multiple venues with Melon and you can save the video in 1080p to your computer for editing at a later time. Zoom can allow for over 20 people for Melon can only handle 9. OBS can be used in Melon. The virtual camera will work.

I see the potential of Melon, but for me it's cost prohibitive. I'm 70 and just getting started in this area. Learning these new things keep me young. Thanks, for making concepts so clear.

The offer, as it stands now, now is to pay the $100 appsumo fee (which can be discontinued after a year) plus the $99 Melon fee which is lifetime membership? Am I understanding correctly? No, this software is a different animal. You could bring OBS via virtual camera and control obs with the streamdeck.

Did I miss the deal or am I just overlooking something? I see the $99 lifetime deal for Melon, but it is open to AppSumo Plus members only as part of the AppSumo Select offering. However, to join AppSumo Plus, the cost is $99 a year. So, the real cost of this -- for me -- would be $198 I think, unless I am missing something. It seems like it would still be a good deal, but I wonder if you need to continue to pay the $99/year to AppSumo Plus in order to be able to use the Melon "lifetime deal."

The deadline has come and gone but it's not dead. The price is now $200 instead of $100. AppSumo now charges an extra $99 to get access to lifetime deals. Here's what you do. Pay the extra $99 and then buy Melon. CONGRADULATIONS you're going to get you money back in three months instead of two. BIG DEAL. After 12 months cancel your membership. Done and done.
