Hi MacKenzie (sp?), Just want to thank you for the video.. i have had complex muskuloskeletal condition for the past 23 YEARS. Yes, I have done just about everry practice and healing method there is. I still never (more recently) got more than 1 hour sleep at a time which had to be followed each time by about an hour upright. And it was much worse in the first 15-18 years. And yes, I did about six years of yogo--the first four with a superb chiropractor/yoga. For some reason, he never mentioned having me do alternate nostril. Somewhere along the line I got drift of it, but never really put it into practice. Recently I was having a reALLY hard night with far too m uch lower body sensitivity, and I remembered a a very recent vieo in which alternate nostril was mentioned. I instituted it that very night, and was almost immediately calmed down and was able to resume my previous "schedule" of one hour sleep, one hour up. After three night of this, I figured I ought to look up a video and make sure I was doing it right and found your video after perusing a number. Thing is, most of those early ones I pulled up mentioned only the effect of the practice on heart rate, etc. I had had a vaue menory of it affecting the autonomic nervous system. And I had been doing it incorrectly, too--I had forgotten to put in the nose-holding pause in the middle. I guess the video lack was part of Western medicine incompletelhy appropriating an Eastern practice. This night, my first adding in the pause, I slept for three HOURS at one time! We shall see if it also starts affecting my pulse rate (at 90-100 beats/minute for who knows how long, Anyway, the sleep was positively golden Maybe it will get even better. Just want to thank you for your confirming video. (the problem occurred because of a number of injuries which were improperly healed over about 40 years, setting up different zones of influence in the somatic brain which even yoga without pranayama did not touch. I suppose the nervouse system just became more and more unbalanced over the years,) And chiropractors, with their emphasis on spine only, did not affect. I am now seeing an osteopath, but even he did not know how to address the autonomic problem. Thanks again, mightily.
