It was just before r&b, hip hop, dance and rock all became watered down into the same indistinguishable sounding pop. Music back then had character.

For me the meaning of the song is, that even when you go through very tough times with your partner, when there is a serious love between you both, then each of you will try everything to keep fighting and figure it out. Somtimes you hate each other, still you want to be with each other. You often use your partner as a "punching bag" for your own personal emotions/problems, not realizing how much you might hurt him with that, because you think it should be natural for him to bear with it, but actually it isn't. It is a big privilege we get, it is a big sign of love. And after a fight, you sometimes just watch them doing daily things, like drinking "black coffee" and you realize again why you love them so much. Because they are still here with you drinking that coffee.

I was visiting London and couldn't believe this beautiful blast from the past came on on one of the silly amusement park commercials. I was like "dayummmmmm what a flood of memories".... and that commercial instantly brought me here....what an incredible song!!!

Of course not, but we didn' t write about the quality of the song but about the production values/technical standards of the given era, which were pretty high. A lot of effort and money was invested into music and video production. Today the pop scene seems to be rather cheap in comparison.

True (hard)rock metal fan here. But this is one of the best and sweetest popsongs written ever.

Bill Orbit, the expansive mood king. His collaborations with these ladies took them to a new level. "Pure Shores," is another example of his brilliance.

This song is pure gold and did not age a second. The girls are stunningly beautiful in this vid. Great footage. Perfect vocal harmonic performance, perfectly produced music and amazing conclusion with typical Orbit's reversed electronic drums combined with its famous echoes and beeps. William Orbit is a genius. Period. This is what professional electronic music mixing is about. This song will still be listened to in year 3062. Kudos and respect.

Amazing how you can hear the influence of 1990s electronic music, the likes of Portishead, and trip hop all in this. I dont think such a darkly lovely song could be a hit today.

I come to this song every now and then, it got stuck with me ever since I first listened a long time ago, the amount of memories and bliss I feel from it it’s just immeasurable. Thank you All Saints for comforting my heart whenever I need it.

Heard this on radio 2 yesterday, travelling back from Devon, wow, this still sounds awesome, what a time to have been alive in the 90s, and early naughties. Magic times.

I dearly miss 90's and early 2000's. Back then, all Saints - a brilliant one-of-a-kind group. I've always think that they have a classy combinations of voices and mtv that always pushing boundaries. They just believe in what they're doing with these dreamy, ethereal and thought provoking visuals in which perfectly fit their song like a glove; dare I say it.

You gotta try and scratch beneath the surface man. This song is amazing but that can be said for a lot of other music these days too. Just not the garbage you hear on the radio ;)

This is one of the best vocal chorus ever made. I've been listening to it for over 2 decades and it ALWAYS give me goosebumps. It's a fabulous piece of harmony, Orbit hit gold with this.

All Saints have some of the best harmonising and singing on any girl band. Ever. Still true even now. Love this song, gives me goosebumps :) I sound like my mum but really they don't make music like they used to any more.

Yep, Center Parcs ad brought me here too. It's amazing what stays in your memory bank. I knew I'd heared it before and Google search for a song confirmed that. Beautiful song too...

Still to this day, one of the best songs i've ever heard.

This song was released more than 20 years ago. First time I heard it I was about 16. Now I'm 38 and 12 years married and it hits home like it never did before.

I was traveling around Australia in the fall(their spring) of 2000 and Quantas played this on the video screens when we were boarding. I was instantly hooked. Seriously good track, and the rest of the record is really good too. I'm getting total goosebumps listening to this for the first time in years.

this song is so relaxing.. still love them!
