    Hello everyone. We blurred this due to it being a live reaction just in case, but it looks like the original owners ask that we not. While I cannot remove the blur from this one (luckily it wasn't too blurry) we now know that for all videos moving forward from them. Thank you so much for the opportunity to react to this and the performance is originated from @YOUKU SHOW. Thanks for watching!

    Can't help but think that the lyrics of this song is actually a metaphor referring to him trying out new, unfamiliar vocal techniques that no one has done before, making him a stranger in a stranger's land, vocally speaking.

    Please note- people are requesting Ikanaide because it just was released, because he is singing officially for the 1st time in Japanese, & of course because it is exquisite. In case you didn’t know- Ikanaide is Autumn Strong- you both reacted to him at Arnau in the red suit where he finished with the mic down by his side. That song in Chinese was a popular song in China, about a Chinese singer, who turned out was Japanese & shunned & deported after the WW2. The songwriter is Japanese- I am unsure if original song was originally in Japanese, but here Dimash wanted to pay respect to the songwriter & this song he loves so much. I saw a dear post a clip of him singing this in Japanese in 2017 (gorgeously & casually while walking through the airport), & he says it’s his favorite version (in Japanese). He of course approaches the song differently than the Chinese version you 2 reacted to.

    Although the melody is the same, the actual song is different. Koji Tamaki wrote this as Ikanaide/Don't Go. Then the melody was used for Autumn Strong but written originally in Cantonese but then rewritten in Chinese. The lyrics of the songs are very different from each other. ❤️

    I can tell you that the first version of this song was in Japanese, and it's about the hero telling his lover not to go. Later, Chinese singer Jacky Cheung sang a Cantonese version about an actress named Li Xianglan, a Japanese woman also known as Shuko Yamaguchi. She is a real person in history. Her whole family lives in China because her father likes Chinese culture very much. In 1938, Japan pretended to be friendly with China in order to prevent Chinese people from resisting Japanese invasion, so she acted as a Chinese woman who fell in love with Japanese soldiers. Because of her young age, she does not know Japan's political goals. But she felt very sad, she did not know why she was Japanese, Japan let her pretend to be Chinese. In this way, she acted in several films insulting China for Japan. But later, she came to realize that it was a lie for the Japanese to be friendly to the Chinese and apologized for her behavior. Soon after, The Japanese invasion of China failed, Li Xianglan was arrested for traitors, but because she was not Chinese, but Japanese, she was acquitted. Eventually she returned to Japan and continued her acting career. This is the Cantonese version of the story. This version tells of her sadness and struggle. Later, Jacky Cheung sang a Mandarin version called "Autumn Strong," which is about the pain and longing of being separated from your lover in autumn. Dimash used to sing this version.

    This was from the Shine Super Brothers show in China. He is literally a stranger in China without an interpreter. You are right that he wants to improve with every performance. That’s why every song sounds different. Stranger was mind blowing! During his interview on the show he said “ they haven’t seen anything yet, this is just the beginning, I haven’t begun to show myself.” By the way, did you see the light in his hand during the Ascolcha la voce Part? He doesn’t just sing a song, every song is a performance. You can see them all on his official KZread channel.

    Thank you. You are right about the body movements being important for singing. Dimash has mentioned about the physicality (body movements) many times in his interviews and texts in his Social Media. He has said that Singing properly and safely has a lot of physicality that must be carefully performed. He has often said that Singing is comparable to Sports, in terms of how you use the body to perform. Dimash makes it look so easy, he has been quoted (translation to English) saying this: "I don't care about Octaves, it doesn't matter. Octaves are just my tools, my goal is to take a person to another world with my singing. I want them to feel better, than they felt before listening to me". Well Dimash, your goal is accomplished.. over and over and over again...

  • @Watchamacallit000

    @Watchamacallit000

    The physical exertion he was referring to has more to do with the mechanism required to produce the actual sounds. High level vocal is a core muscle gym workout even before you add some additional body movements where some are for show and some are functional. Dimash can sing most of this stuff whilst standing nearly perfectly still, since that is the way he was trained in his classical singing. It is correct though that he uses some movements to help, such as bending to help with diaphragmatic contraction, bending his knees to release tension elsewhere, switch his mic from hand to hand, moving his neck etc. Sneaky little one is interesting. Look at The Show Must go On right at the end. Very high note, arm in the air, tension was building in his neck. See what he did....

    @@Watchamacallit000 That is exactly what Dimash was referring to, which I referenced I from his interviews. The Cricothyroid muscle lengthen and tense the vocal cords. Contractions of the cricothyroid and of the intrinsic muscles of the larynx open and close the vocal cords. This, the facial mask, and more is what Dimash talked about with regards to the physical aspects of singing and performing. My text is NOT my opinion, it is what Dimash has stated in interviews. Seems you are disagreeing with Dimash, on what and how he uses his body to perform. Perhaps you should discuss that with Dimash, next time you see him.

    This song is his part in the reality Chinese TV show, Shine! Super Brothers. There are different teams and Dimash is part of one of them. Each participant has a talent and they have to show their best so their team gets the most points. Dimash here used the song Stranger and incorporated parts of other songs to show all he can do with his voice. It airs every Saturday at 7:30 in YouKu. This was the second show and other singers came before Dimash. Yesterday Sunday 28, Dimash participated in the Tokio Jazz Festival 2021 singing Ikanaide in Japanese (Autumn Strong). He's actually held that part at the end for longer before, but in that performance, he did a much shorter middle section so I'm guessing he had to cut it short for his stamina. Still, absolutely amazing! I just realized that Dimash could sing those beauty and the beast style songs where they have an operatic female voice and a metal/fry male voice all by himself! lol

He for sure continues to explore new ways with his vocals. He doesn't stop learning and exploring. When I first started listening to him 4 years ago he was singing 6 octaves. He's 7 octaves and some now, and seems in to be incrementally increasing his range and doing it safely and using it in different way and genres. It's mad!! and so cool.

    Dimash is the best singer in the WORLD and there are no doubts about that, his voice is a prodigy of nature and a genetic marvel since his parents are two glories of singing from Kazakhstan since he was 5 years old, he sings publicly and has more than twenty years of lyrical training and graduated from the university of music, he is a singer, composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist, he plays more than seven musical instruments and sings in more than Ten(10) languages, he is also a great performer and a great artist who lives and feels music He is not an imitator of voices , Dimash has his own style and is one of the forerunners of the "POPera" he also has a very pleasant, HUMBLE and simple personality, easy access, which makes it very easy to follow, he always travels with His family and friends is a very educated person and an example to follow, he has become known for his musical talent not for getting into trouble or scandals, It has a very wide vocal range of approximately 7 octaves ,he is a singer with a wide vocal range very versatile is Baritone, TENOR , Soprano, counter TENOR, mezasoprano, everything at the same time is how to have 5 singers in one, it has a male and female voice, also many resources such as vibrato, "melismas", falsetto, Staccato,whistle tone, reaching a( D8 )live "Outside of Piano"at the concert of Gakku in an unforgettable day, at his young age he continues to improve and grow musically to perfection, he has a good physical presence he measures 191 cm or 6 "3", he is very famous and recognized in Asia and now he is becoming known In Europe and America, ALL their songs are spectacular, it always goes from low to high, soft to spectacular at the end, in my almost half a century of life I never heard so much quality and it is the hope of continuity of the classical genre because all the old tenors have already Almost all of them died and Dimash can sing like them but none of them can sing like Dimash, being a Man he sings better than any Tenor and his female voice is superior to that of any average Soprano, greetings and a hug from USA 🇺🇸 "Dears" Forever ❤️👍🏻 Sorry for copying and pasting my informative comment in ALL the Video reactions to Dimash what I see but I do it with the intention of sharing information about him and what I think that in the music industry there are many artists who have been successful and have no talent and are bad people and they do not set a good example for the youth, Dimash and his music deserve to triumph in America, Europe and the whole WORLD, do you want to have already read my comment please come by without problem there is always someone who for the first time knows this information and I won't get tired of sharing it with all my friends"Dear" around the world, thanks for reading and for supporting Dimash 🙏🏻S.O.S. Honestly when Stranger came out in October on the new wave it had blown me away. How can he do that? I don't know either, and will probably never. So he did it on super brothers! Not different, but different! I sat there with open jaw and my brain wasn't ready to follow, yet again, I know Dimash 3 years! Why can't I believe my ears? My brain at least needs 3 times, to be able to follow. Check out his other new Song on Tokyo Jazz! I had tears again. " Ikanaide" he sings it in Japanese ( at least I think, bc i can recognize spoken, but not singed Japanese, so I'm not sure). It's Autumn strong he sung in Chinese on the singer show. As I remember ( Dears can correct me, if I'm wrong) this piece of art has been written for, a chinesene born actress who has Japanese parents. Yoshiko Yamaguchi ( Li xianglan). Check it out....

I think it's perceptible in the performance, and it's understandable because he inserted that incredibly different and difficult improvisation in the middle of the song, and he was nervous because he didn't know whether it would come off! He is hugely capable, but he's also extremely courageous in trying new things, it's also why he's so marvellous to watch! Love your reactions, thanks! Greetings from Cape Town South Africa

    one thing you need to learn about Dimash is that he NEVER, NEVER, EVER sings the same song in the same way...he always levels it up...NOT because he wants to make it difficult for other singers to sing it after him, BUT he does that to challenge himself in new ways...i've said before in other reaction videos that i've watched in the past; Dimash is his own worst critic...which is the reason why he doesn't like watching his past performances...he will always find a flaw in the way he sung a note or in his execution...that's what i've observed about him after being converted into a Dear since late 2017...Dimash has spoiled me for other artists in every sense...it's just a thrilling ride when he takes the stage because you never know where he'll transport you...a huge THANK YOU for your reactions to his performances...there's still more to discover when it comes to Dimash...💛💛💛💜💜💜💖💖💖
