Do you ever wonder why LGBTQ people’s relationships are reduced to sex only? Why is it that when we talk about straight couples we mention things like commitment, support, love, monogamy, fidelity, romance, friendship etc. but for queer folks all you seem to believe they are capable of, is lusting after one another for physical sex. The exegesis is rather thin here. That Genesis 1:27 refers to equal dignity for men and women under God does not eliminate the other valid interpretation that God created the human species with two genders. Likewise, if it is anachronistic to say that sexual practices in Ancient Roman times are not like today, it is likewise anachronistic to suggest that eunuchs are equivalent to something like sexual minorities of our time. As to the former, Paul is clear in Romans 1:26-27 that the sexual perversion he is referring to is mutual and consensual by using the phrase "consumed with passion for one another." As to the latter, Isaiah's reference to eunuchs does not provide a positive description of homosexual practice being moral in God's eyes, and neither does Jesus' statement about eunuchs. In all of Scripture there is not a single positive affirmation of homosexual practice; there are represented, however, every category of ethical prohibition in the Bible. If we care about people experiencing same-sex attraction or gender dysphoria, we should call out the deceit that would encourage them to identify with unnatural and sinful practices and lead them to Christ where they can find peace and wholeness.

That’s kinda odd to hear your statement. My family has men who are married to women, but are miserable. They play the IMAGE of being a loving heterosexual couple, especially at church. But behind the scenes they just tolerate each other. Additionally, they are all anti gay. On the other hand, my gay friends who are in a monogamous marriage are happy and love each other. But they are pro heterosexual marriage. Kinda makes you wonder.

It's not an assumption. That's what they were. They were men who had crushed testicles, or were effeminate who helped take care of royal and important women, like putting on their makeup and dressing women. They were a sexual and gender minority, who were put in charge of women because they would not have feelings for the women they took care of. That is not an assumption. It is a biblical and historical fact.

He is the most important person in the bible, in the world, and in all time, and in eternity. Jesus is the only one in scriptures who is omniscient, and truly knew God. Most of the old testament is pointing to Jesus and the words in the New Testament that happen after Jesus's death are leading to his second coming. Jesus's words are the most important because Jesus speaking is God speaking. Jesus was God in the flesh, showing us how to live and speak as his followers and Jesus was inclusive. Jesus lived to serve. And Jesus was all loving.

Regardless of what humanity thinks these scriptures mean, GOD sent his Son to save us, and he has filled us with the Holy Spirit. This sermon is something I needed to hear today. Holy Historic Inaccuracies, Batman!

Thank you for your clarity here, and the attached book list. I've got some homework to do. As a "cis-het" Christian for my entire life, I also have a lot of baggage to work through. But the past few years, the more I closer I look at Jesus, the more disturbing I find the anti LGBTQ rhetoric from my peers. Wesley Hill was helpful, but your interpretation of the "gotchas" seems far more consistent with the trajectory of the Bible than the alternative.

28:18 Jesus recognize eunuchs as example of those who don't marry and stay single for purpose of ministry. Jesus is not affirming that eunuchs constitute a third gender option or an exception to maleness and femaleness. In context he is addressing marriage not gender. STUDY REALLY NEEDED HERE...oh my.

You can believe it’s wrong to be a part of the LGBTQ community and still take away a very important part of this message. We should treat everyone the same. We should show everyone love and not go out of our way to harass them or make them feel like they can’t know God. When you start following Christ, he will convict you. The scriptures clearly condemns such sexual acts, but also it teaches us that we should love everyone. And the truest form of love is to worry about someone’s eternal life, to love someone is to help them repent their sins so they can be accepted in heaven instead of affirming their sins to lead them to away from God. Discrimination against LGBT+ people is wrong. HOWEVER, outright acceptance of their sin does not reflect Christ. I don't mind accepting my friends, but accepting their actions, affirming their marriages for example is profoundly antibiblical (source: Matthew 19, Hebrews 13:4). A full embrace of the people is definitely scriptural. but a full embrace of sin is not. the promise in Isaiah is eye-opening. Wow and thanks. You have no idea how right you are. This is truly minutes to midnight.......and a nuclear fall out will look like childsplay compared to God's judgement. We all need Jesus and will be better off if we seek Him in spirit and truth. The LGBTQ+ lifestyle is a decision to live in sin. Yes, we need to love them and everyone but sin is sin. I'm not going to lie to myself and to them that they are not actively living in sin. When I sin, I call it what it is and I pray for mercy and I am not "proud" of it or I don't seek affirmation or approval of it from others.

Ditching God and pandering to children is not Holy 🤡

All people are loved by God and His Church, but all sin is despised by God and His Church. Among the many sins we can commit, having homosexual relations, not just affections, but relations, as well as manipulating our bodies to try and be someone other than, instead of who God has created us to be, and forcing others to go along with our false identity are among them. Lying to people about this does actual harm to them, at the very least spiritually. A eunuch is a man who either cannot, or does not have sex for whatever reason. Not a sexual and gender minority in the modern sense. And, Jesus flipping over the tables in the temple had nothing to do with oppression and marginalization in the context of being a sexual or gender minority. You are rewriting history to fit a modern narrative, and are therefore lying, either wittingly or unwittingly, to your flock. If people are not told the truth, how can they be saved? For, it is the truth that sets us free.

by the way, that's your psychological table, not God's table.

It is only Gods grace and Jesus sacrifice that have saved us from eternal damnation. Not one of us had a seat in heaven until Jesus died for every one of us. If Jesus dies for you why do you think He did not die for others? If God can forgive you why can’t he forgive others? Why is your sin less than their sin? Sorry, but that is nowhere near a "significant" percentage. The appearance of masculinity and femininity are not defined by societal cues or traits; it is clearly defined in the Bible (Deuteronomy 22). After 16 minutes in, I don't want to watch this whole message, because I don't have all day to refute the lies, half-truths, and misguided opinions that are, no doubt, found in this message. Does the Bible make it clear that we should love others? Absolutely. But does God also abhor sin? Absolutely. To suggest that homosexual activity is not sin is a lie, just like suggesting that adultery, murder, and blasphemy aren't sin is a lie.
