@@JesusFriedChrist Broadcast audio-visual (AV) mass media was never OK. Not movies. Not TV. Not TV advertising. Not "music videos." Now movies and TV are graveyards. That's the only good news. Movie attendance peaked back in 1933. Look it up. TV Guide data shows that the most popular hours of TV aired in the 1950's, 60's and early 70's. Our so-called "pop music" was TV music. Now the entire Billboard Top-200 Singles list accounts for less than 5% of American streaming music. It's all dead now. Kaput. Ignored. Not "shared." Never eat or drink any food or beverages advertised "on TV." None. As of 2023, 65% of American never drink "soda pop." Digest the numbers. Numeracy prefigures comprehension.

When my daughter was 3 someone gave me an agents name and number, "because she's so adorable and needs to be on TV".... I was intrigued and so I messaged the agent. They responded with a series of questions and a list of requirements. One of the requirements buried in the middle was that "I must be ok with and allow my child to enter a room with 1 or 2 adults alone - required for closed door auditions". This was a Fxxk NO for me and I couldn't believe any other parent would go ahead with that.

The point about noticing the initial testing moves, and rejecting them, is THE most important part of this conversation. I was an agreeable, partially physically disabled, high functioning autistic child, with inattentive parents. I had to teach myself to see predators coming, after years failing to see them in time. I was in my early teens by the time I had fully developed my 'spidey sense', and could fend off their initial subtle tests. As a result of my desperation to stop being fodder for predators, I got very good as spotting them, I warn parents to watch certain people around their kids. This sort of stuff happens all the time, not just to actors. I understand people who have good natural instincts and never become victims may find it hard to believe, but there are so. many. predators. out there, it's absolutely unreal. Teaching our kids (especially agreeable kids) to spot those initial moves is essential.

Brett handled this conversation with such grace and spoke about tough subjects so thoughtfully and eloquently. It was a little jarring to witness Jordan try to control the conversation in the second half. It felt like he wanted to do more talking than listening, and didn't seem that open to hearing Brett, often interrupting her mid sentence. He seemed a bit triggered like he was diverting things to stay in control, but Brett was very generous and present.

speaking as a former actor that worked in the industry during the 2000 and for almost a decade, i would like to add that its not only magnetism and being captivating or entertaining what puts a lot of these ppl in the bulls eye sort of speaking. i think that it also has a lot to do with an actor’s ability to be vulnerable and open and in acting words “trusting “….. trust the moment, trust the director, trust your scene partner, trust your agent and this whole mentality of “ you are playing in the big leagues aka hollywood so you have to “ BE A PRO” and do the job or else someone else will, so if you start adding all those factors and in particular if the person is a young actor, then you can definitely see how easy is to take advantage of such people and omg the stories and lessons you learn and see and live, like i still cannot believe i went to some backyard alley auditions like the ones i went before and left ok like guuuuuuuuurl….. so yeah … hollywood truly mastered and perfected the path for the peoplr like harvey and roman and a lot the others to be able to do what they do in such an easy way. its so insane

Indeed. A sitcom called Friends runs late at night in my area. It's mild by the standards of Hollywood, but there is plenty of icky, questionable, outright unethical stuff that is not called such. And then there is Sex and the City which is even worse. I recently watched a video on YT about a woman who moved to NYC thinking her reality would be like that show. I don't see how people can make life decisions based on TV shows and movies, they are all pretend. And even were it not much about SatC is not a good way to live, one doesn't have to deal with "social diseases" in a sitcom or unwanted pregnancies out of wedlock because it's all pretend. While not nearly as serious as molestation of kids, but a friend of mine's mom has connections in Hollywood and he was able to get jobs doing set construction. He just looked at it as a job so he did alright, but there are some of the people in that who wish to be actors and who naively believe they'll be "discovered" doing that since they are working on projects with A list actors, but the A list actors never notice the people in set construction so those who think that way just wind up frustrated and jaded.

We were discussing the new generation of beautiful (and very young) showgirls when he said this: "Their mothers are the worst: they are all beautiful middle-aged women who have missed the entertainment boat. They bring their daughters to auditions dressed and made up like prostitutes. Do you know what scene you see most often? The girl comes out of the audition with a sad face, says she wasn't accepted and her mother screams at her and gives her a couple of slaps. And then, I was struck by the awareness that, at seventy - two, I remember that there were quite a few young women of Brett's caliber of intelligence and class when I was young. How far and how hard we've fallen in fifty years. I think if I ever see photos of Brett with tattoos, and the slutty, vacuous non expression so many of them seem to have, I'll cut my throat.

I literally just watched an interview with her when she said during her 1st interview at Fox, the lead guy exposed himself to her but was offended and screamed at her to get out when she started cracking up laughing. This is not about power alone. Some people are wise with power and some only get power, because they have to serve something dark up in return. Hollyweird is a demonic pimpin industry and now so many things people have said for decades (and have been called crazy for it) come to light. This is a spiritual war. People dont become perverts when they get power, they are perverts and seek power. Jaguar Wright and Katt Williams know what they are talking about, no matter how "crazy" they sound to people. Posted this in another related comment, but doing so here again: The ending to this story was wild, she walked out of the studio with her mom in silence and they didn't say a word for several minutes while they drove away, and Shirley finally turns to her and goes "Mom, you won't believe what just happened to me." And her mom replies back tersely, "Well you won't believe what just happened to me either." Hollywood has been fucked from day one.

When I was growing up, it was common for teenagers to be called “young adults”, “young men”, and “young women”. The idea was to encourage and guide them towards growing up and becoming responsible adults, and also showing them a measure of respect. Calling people “children” at older and older ages is a more recent trend that reflects a lot of things in society. We have a culture that promotes the rainbow flag in elementary school, and even “transition”, while calling 17 year old girls “children”.

Indeed, I've always felt like all young men should be protective & focusing their consciousness on the actual full human being, the heart, spirit, mind of women, and sadly in a society where a lot of young men fall into the wounded masculine category instead of being in the divine masculine energy they're truly lost souls not even wanting to be protective of their wives, girlfriends, sisters, family members, lady friends, let alone all the stranger women. God made all humans in his image & likeness, people have infinite value but far too many men out there see women as more like objects or status symbols instead of the full human beings worthy of selfless respect, love, dignity. When men can't live with integrity & honor they dehumanize not only the women but their very self & core being, they spiritually die & wither, are now blinded in darkness in their hearts not even being able to see & recognize the spirit or soul in every women they engage with. The wounded / broken masculinity turns the young men into predators instead, serving Satan instead of serving God perhaps thinking themselves pridefully to be their own "God" in their pride they became foolish not knowing their pride makes them less than dust in the eyes of God, how they treat all human beings or look at them selfishly instead of selflessly reflects their character & heart. Perhaps they got this way due to unhealed trauma from past women, or a poor relationship with their mother figure, or perhaps never having a healthy & positive masculine male model in their lives in their childhoods, a healthy father figure to see how he engages with & thinks of women. God bless Brett, she's grown into a wonderful young lady.

Anyone who’s an actor can attest that the film industry has no more morals than the adult film industry. Personally, I despise having to admit something is “systemic” but if you’re an actor going out for auditions, you’ve seen how easy it is for those above you to just utterly dehumanize you. Translate how they’re willing to treat full grown adults who are desperate to make it into how easy it would be for the sickos to take advantage of children and you realize literally none of this is hard to believe. Mine was the exact opposite of that, she expected me to be super successful and used to make me sign up for a lot of extracurriculars when I was younger. She was insecure and she tried to live life through me, that’s why she was so controlling and a “perfectionist” when it came to my academic career. My feelings did not matter to her at all, she was cold, demanding and mean. I was afraid of saying no to her bc she would throw a tantrum and play the victim afterwards. I used to live for her, not for myself. During college I had a breakdown and she blamed me and said horrible things. Which wasn’t really new for me tbh, I was used to her insults by then. Perfect insight on the dichotomy of Hollywood and the young actress in how predators capitalize on young children being around, and thinking, like an adult. This mother, and her, are a true testament into how sick Hollywood is and the preventive measures that must be upheld by anyone protecting their young child's career as a rising star in Hollywood.

Nah I don't agree entirely with that one. The guy spoke to a "23 year old" on a dating app and agreed to a meet up with a 23 year old. Upon meeting her she announce to him that she was 15. He didn't immediately leave, but he broke no law. What I find disturbing is that her father basically pimped his own 15 year old daughter on a dating app as a 23 year old, to "Shake down" respondents for a "pedo trap" video. A 15 year old should be doing her homework, not being used as bait for a "pedo trap show" run by her dad. When police do sting operations the underage child is a fabricated persona played by an adult.

This has been going on for centuries. The nobility used their children, toddlers through to teenagers, to secure power, wealth, and influence through marriage. The marriage part may have gone, but the exploitation is the same. Some parents treat their children as cattle!

In old times political alliances were done through marriage. Often the princesses were sent to the new country where they would rule while children, to get used to the customs and language before becoming rulers. They were betrothed and married at a later date, very often with many years in between. There was nothing sexual in all that. It has no comparison at all.

Oh my GOODNESS am I ever excited to see this! Brett is the role model I needed as young conservative woman. I am so thankful that young women growing up now have her, and I’m so thankful she had quality time with Dr. Peterson. Also I absolutely cannot wait for Snow White and The Pendragon Cycle. As much as Psychologists/Therapists are praised as healers, Dr.Peterson does a great job of showing how direct and bold a psychologist SHOULD be. Leaning into those uncomfortable questions and raising opportunities for accountability even in circumstances where it would be considered socially taboo to even imply one can be held to account (e.g a child creating boundaries and passing "testy" behaviors). Brilliant. Again, pretty uncomfortable stuff, but that's where the growth and expansion happens. And it seems to me like he's always willing to go there.

Perhaps this is a consequence of his conversations being publicly available and being with people who are there to have an interesting conversation. I would imagine him to be significantly less direct and bold in 1-on-1 personal scenarios with clients.

Yeah it's pretty important to teach children social etiquette. It's not only important on how you should be conducting yourself and treat others, it also sets a mental guideline/barrier on what's appropriate when others interact with you and helps a little with noticing subtle inappropriate behaviours. Luke 6:31 came to mind, not the same, but in the same train of thought.
