As a recording artist he influenced minds too as a "shaman" he was influencing people spiritually but he was often lewd and what some considered a "bad influence". What influenced him also needs to be considered different culture in the 60s hippies Vietnam war LSD rock n roll his witchy girlfriend his main girlfriend his bandmates etc.

@Shaquille-Oatmeal good observation your right it seems as time goes on even though younger ppl have access to anything, and everything they could ever want to know. They seem more ignorant then ever, and there vernacular is atrocious most younger ppl especially the ones influenced by the hip hop culture they can't articulate what there talking about very well. I hate saying it, but it's really a lot like that movie Idiocracy. I mean we aren't to far off it's sad. Aldous Huxley I love listening to old recordings of him I really enjoyed reading brave new world, and of course the doors to perception. I'll tell you a really good book its called "this timeless moment" it was written by Laura Huxley his second wife Its about there relationship, and his death.Did you know he died the same day JFK was assassinated? Laura was upset because JFK's death over shadowed Aldous's death he died up in the Hollywood hills in Beachwood canyon shortly after he ask her to administer 100 mics of LSD 😅 his second dose of that day he wrote it down on paper and gave it to her "LSD intermuscular 100 micrograms" in the book there's a picture or a copy of that note it'gs really sloppy barely legible that was 1963 LSD was legal back then it was made illegal in 1966 I'm sure your aware Huxley was extremely fascinated with psychedelics Humphrey Osmond a Canadian psychiatrist turned Huxley on to mescaline I think Huxley, and Osmond they together coined the term psychedelic. You should check out the family Aldous Huxley came from extremely influential family his brother was heavily into eugenics anyway I'm rambling if you get a chance read that book I read it in 3 days and I have a really hard time reading my attention span is getting like the youth 😅

no he was in on the plot. He wasn’t even real, he was a character played by the same actor that played rush Limbaugh. Already proven and acceptable if he isn’t someone one will worship til death. Next. Study how ear biometrics are more accurate than that of retinas or finger prints significantly. If the others would convict someone, then ear biometrics is a cakewalk. Nothing to debate on this one. Just stating a fact. If you believe otherwise you aren’t aware of the political stage and refuse to be. Accept whatever narrative you prefer. It’s pretty redundant. He’s not even where the meat is. Look into jfk/Jackie and Jimmy Carter and wife. Friggin hilarious that anybody has fallen for it. There are hundreds of obvious ones but what would be interesting is to have a list of the not so obvious plastic surgery death hoaxes.

@@Illumignati you sound like a person who has been watching too many conspiracy theory vids. Are there freaks in govt? Absolutely and always have been, do they do baaaaad things? Hell yeah. Is Hollywood corrupt along with them? Yup. But back in the 70's rockers were real and they had scruples. Most of them cared about their world and not just themselves. Not like today's freaks who would sell their souls to demons for a lil cash. Or worse, sell their children's souls. So there is some truth to your statements, it is a bit over the top to me, sorry. My Uncle told me that Jim used to drink down at Barney's Beanery in West Hollywood, on random nights. My Uncle was a Courier who delivered everything from Groceries to Medications to Dry Cleaning in Hollywood in the late 60's. So he was at Barney's pretty much every evening, and he said Jim Morrison, the world famous rock star would just walk in by himself, and buy out the bar until closing because he "didn't want to drink alone." That means everybody there drinks for free while Jim was there until closing, and then Jim would just pay the tab. My Uncle said Jim was a nice, soft spoken, intelligent guy, MOST of the time, but there were a few times when Jim was blacked out drunk and someone or something would insult him, and then he would just fly off the handle and fight people, smash chairs into tables, and just generally go apesht. The Cops would come and toss him in the drunk tank for the night until he sobered up and then just cut him loose. And then 3 maybe 4 months later Jim would come back into Barney's like nothing happened, and he would buy out the Bar, and get hammered but refrain from getting out of control. My Uncle said he usually only raised hell when he was going through some kind of stress.... but for the most part Jim was a polite, decent guy who just seemed in over his head at times. I just get a kick out of the fact that my Uncle Mickey, a working class, regular guy from Southern California not only met Jim Morrison but also spent many evenings drinking with him. THAT'S how accessible Jim was, he didn't cruise around with bodyguards or an entourage. Jim's "Entourage" was maybe a couple of random Bikers and a few strippers from time to time, just whatever people he bumped into roaming around L.A. who he felt like partying with on that particular night.

@@Soli_Deo_Gloria_. Yeah, his poetry was covert hypnotism. The doors of perception being cleansed to see everything as unfinished was all about ego shattering so someone loses their essence and starts searching for answers to what's going on with themselves , trying to feel normal again. If you were young and naïve like I was and listened to his records on loop and read his poetry. My father rented me my own apartment's from 16 up, I had tons of friends over, I was good look and girls came on to me without me doing much. But I got depressed for no reason after becoming obsessed with his writing and music. Luckily my mother read the bible to me every night since I was born. At 12 I buried my brains into reading everything from Dante and Milton to 16th through 19th century poets.. So I sat down with a dictionary, took a psychological look at Jim's work ignoring everything as merely metaphorically and got pissed. He's not of my time. I got into him after the movie was released and his books released after his death. Might not even be all his.. Could be psychology mind fckery. Just the first lines from either the wilderness or the american night are pure covert hypnotism. "Left out wandering dazed and confused searching here and there for teachers and friends" ... Left side of your mind (the objective side) turned off, wandering in the right imaginative side of your mind, here and there means in daydreams, there being subconscious, here being conscious, like the the land and the sea. The land is consciousness, and the sea is subconscious, and the beach, the shores, the sands, are all days dreams... Here and there, far and near, then and now, are all subconscious ways of saying daydreaming.. So his first poem in his book, is to turn the left side of your brain of, wander dazed in your right mind, in daydreams, looking for teachers and friends because you become infinite (unfinished), away from the finite side of what you understood of the world, that your parent taught you, that you learned, and now you're trying to piece yourself back together, to the finite, finished side of truth that you lost, if you got caught in his bllshit.. Genius. Visionary-soul, my @ss.

I often wonder what Jim would have thought of social media. I sometimes feel we lost something by gaining so much. His synopsis of the human condition and the “waking sleep” that we crave is indicative of todays society. I would’ve loved to have met Mr Morrison, his lyrics have got me through some pretty dark times. From listening as a child, to a man. The Doors were visionaries of the highest calibre - with a message that most mainstream labels would now shy away from. Such a shame! And whilst our labels keep churning out the same thing, we will all keep listening…numb and void! Maybe I’ve become cynical, but where are the bands that want to change the world?? A great man taken far too young.

Based on what he’s saying, he would’ve hated it, because social media, on one hand is the spectating of somebody else’s life, which is already a great great loss, and on the other hand, there is so much brain feeding of one individuality upon another one who has not yet developed theirs to the same extent and how can that be a positive? Or in other terms, do you think that social media is a positive or negative influence in the authenticity of the world and the happiness of people, if you think that it is good, then Jim might’ve liked it, but the reality is that there’s no such thing as real nurturing within virtual reality. Hence the ungrounded status of youth and the world. Jim would have boycotted social media for a more natural and grounded connection in the real sense of the word. Nice question and interesting to think about

Jim Morrison was a wise person....he really knew how to express the side of people they wish they could express, but are oftentimes unable to "feel" because of the feeling of disconnection. They become numb from disassociating from themselves. Jim brought that back to mind; he was a brilliant man. I love the album, Strange Days. It is so in tune with the culture and outcome we are seeing at this time. Jim was the "hidden prophet." I give him credit for bringing to mind what really matters; his legacy will live on forever. Thanks Jim! :)

Makes total sense what he said… In the days before and during the 1950’s/1960’s, being young was a time to endure and “get your stripes” rather than as a life stage to enjoy as part of the journey. It’s as if the youth during this time had no voice or collective identity as age and wisdom were more highly regarded during those times. Nowadays, it’s the opposite, being young is revered and age and wisdom are not regarded with that same value anymore.

It's also amazing that in about 5 years 90%of those kids will disagree with their younger selves. Which is why adults resist their desires... because those are the desires of youth, youth fades very rapidly and you spend 40 to 60 years as an adult who no longer views the world like a child. Nature requires balance. It will kill us if it has to in order to achieve it. Remember that.

I appreciate Jim’s critical view of spectacle and how modern society has put everything on a “stage”. It’s a bit ironic considering his theatrical performance, but I can see how he was trying to breakthrough that static relationship with the audience. Indigenous cultures were characterized by participatory activities, not spectacle consumption.. each person contributed in the moment to the whole communal activity - everyone performed - I’m thinking of African song and dance in particular, which marks the beginnings of human culture.

Everyone is quirky in their own way. If we would learn to embrace it instead of feeling inferior to it, we would see we are each individual and unique. There is not another "flavor" of you. If one takes themselves out of life, they are robbing everyone else of the full taste of life. We all come from the same Father, the question is; are you going to honor Him? 😊
