Likely why they got removed, they just sound too out of character (in the context of Akechis character before the end of Saes palace). Hell some of them even sound like they’re SUPPOSED to be Darkechi lines, like at 1:20.

Akechi has the same VA as Hubert? That's very fitting, especially for the Black Mask side of him. Hubert's crit quotes fit Black Mask especially well (except "bow before Her Majesty").

The patience and self control it must have taken Akechi to be so chill and polite through Sae's palace, holy shit... No wonder his Detective facade was strong enough for him to create Robin Hood.

1:48 I feel like this was one of the closest moments Akechi had to breaking character as the "Prince".

Starting at 9:36; all of Akechi's lines for Joker getting downed are astoundingly solid voicework to me. The way his voice trembles in almost all of them before he (usually) forces himself to be composed again. They all convey a mixture of anger, frustration, bewilderment, and concern that's hidden in various degrees throughout. It's particularly amazing how Joker going down/dying is handled (9:41). The "What are you...?!" is super strained, but it's very quiet, and usually gets drowned out almost entirely by in-game noise. ...And it is immediately followed by Akechi telling Joker to get up in a very commanding voice. The annoyance behind it is very real, but also partially forced because he's using it to cover up his worry. Those two lines almost don't sound like they belong together, but they do. It's just amazing how easily you can tell every single thing about their relationship, and Akechi, from these lines alone. The fact that Akechi seems even shocked and almost betrayed at the prospect of Joker going down tells you about their rivalry, but there's more to it, as well. The way the lines are scripted to showcase that he tends to follow up any display of "weakness" with anger really helps really hammer in the point that while he worries about this person beyond their rivalry just as much as he wants to fight them; he himself is conflicted about it, like he doesn't know how to display it, much less want to.

I love how Akechi has some of the most useful advice for capturing personas of all the navigators, but you cna only capture like 3 personas with him

Probably because he's a trickster / has been in the metaverse on his own for a long time

When he’s not being fake he’s such a genuinely enjoyable character with such a contrasting personality to everyone else. Glad to see more of his actual self.

This was such a missed opportunity to put out DLC for Akechi to swap out for Morgana/Futaba a few months after Royal's release. I honestly wouldn't have minded switching Futaba out for him during/after Sai's palace. Hell, they could have made it NG+ only if they really wanted to keep things "authentic" during a first playthrough.

@@SolarArmadillo That's true. It'd probably just be better for it to be a built in feature. Something that unlocks either when you get to NG+ or when the Navi changes. So like, you could change it to Morgana, Futaba, or Akechi.

When I got that line in game I got scared and instantly recovered him cuz I was afraid he’d do some shooting again

Makes me wish there was a feature in New Game Plus or something where you can change the navigator in battles. I love Futaba but Akechi's lines are hilarious.

3 things 1. I hate how short compared to other navs we got akechi for 2. Because navkechi was a favorite of mine, Atlus should let us choose navs in future main persona games when we get more than one 3. If Atlus does let us choose, perhaps dlc of previous navs (not sure how that will work tho)

I like the idea of the current game's navigator adopting catchphrases from previous navigators when wearing their game's outfits. Imagine Futaba wearing a SEES uniform and saying: GASP! The enemy...!

Navkechi was definitely way more funnier than the other Navs, should’ve just kept Futaba’s buffs and then let us choose which one to say the lines

​@ball.3841 I mean canonically all the navigators are specifically people with extensive knowledge of the metaverse. Morgana was a cognition being basically made out of the metaverse. Futaba's Persona basically gave her a vantage point to see everything. Akechi is arguably the one with the mext experience in the metaverse.
