    This was a huge wealth of knowledge for me. I am new to archery/bow hunting and recently found out what the sight picture should really look like when looking through the peep. Mine wasn't way off but it is too small. Needless to say I am now looking for a new peep and I think the Insight is the one I want to go with. Thanks for the sharing the wisdom Dan and MFJJ! If your using just a plain simple peep people can drill it out to find the best diameter. DONT DRILL IT WHILE ON THE STRING FOLKS. YOU WILL END UP DESTROYING YOUR STRING!!!!!

    Looking for advice on my peep situation with my hunting rig. I have a Spothog Fast Eddie single pin sight on a Mathews V3 27, 28" draw. I like shooting at longer distances and currently I am set up for 20 yards and 60 yards in my yard but I can stretch it to 80 yards whenever. My peep was matched with my housing at 20 yards but if I plan to shoot past 60 yards for practice, should I adjust my housing to 40 yards and match my peep to that instead?

    So my black gold is on a dovetail, r u saying I should set my sight as close to the riser as possible? I went w a dovetail to make sure I can get my ring inside my peep. Having the option to move the sight in n out allows u to get your ring inside your peep as easier as u know. With that good ring in peep alignment I won't torque the bow as easily as I will have a better visual reference, yes no? Thnx guys vids r awesome!

    I’m and SOOOOOO conflicted now.... I have a 27.75 “ draw and I run a 1/8 raptor peep.... a 13/16 peep with my IQ sight, but when I went to my MBG pro with a x-frame mount (set to the middle hole) I had to go down because my groups where WAY to open because I could never center my peep... I had WAY to much light around my housing.... I even have a 1/8 raptor in my new 31”V3 with the fast Eddie sight......what could be the reason that I need such a smaller peep? I anchor in the corner of my mouth and nose.... I even run a long d-loop which should move my head further away from the peep and make me need a larger peep.

    Fairly new archer here and had a question on what exactly I'm suppose to see when looking through my peep sight? I have a Blackgold Dual Trac with the bright green housing. Am I supposed to be seeing the entire green housing or should that be covered up and if I see it then I know I'm not aligned properly? I was using a 3/16" peep, but couldn't see any of the green so I moved up to a 1/4", but now I see daylight around my sight housing which got me thinking what exactly am I supposed to see through the sight? Moved the sight closer to me on the riser, but still see daylight around the housing. Depending on what should see I was either going to move back to 3/16" or try a 7/32" peep. Thoughts? Thanks for all the great videos and good luck this season!

    Ok, my 4th reply today on how folks don’t know how a peep works. The size of your sight housing means nothing. A peep is just a hole to look through. You BRAIN will center whatever pin your are staring at, in that peep. I shot indoor 300’s for decades. I used a 1” scope and used a micro peep. With that micro peep, I could only see the top of my level and the dot in the middle. I could NOT see the scope housing. Back in my day, when we first started bow hunting, the sights were just a flat plate with 4 brass pins sticking out. No housing, and we still used a peep. Rifle shooters which is how I’m learned to use a peep. Rear aperture and just a front blade with a bead on top. Nothing it center up. You simply look through the peep and stare at that pin and your brain will center it for you. This is my 5th video today. Now if you ask Levy and he agrees with you, I will Be disappointed. Y’all have been told Wrong for way too long. Let’s say you do it your way. Aligning that peep around the housing. The clearest pin will be the one closest to the center of that housing. That’s how it works. This is why your brain takes over and centers you up for you. You stare at the pin you want to use, and go with a smaller peep and your brain centers you up. Also one less item for your draw cycle check list. People are creating way too Many things to think about. The tens of thousands of folks you have been telling this wrong to will now suffer for years thinking you are right. Sorry boys, but your way is not even close.

    @j.s.3414

    That's absolutely incorrect. When I swapped from HHA tetra to a UV3 se, I had to switch peep sights because it was impossible to frame and align the UV with the peep size I had...now sure you could move the sight forward or back on the riser, but for folks who have their sight dialed in for the distances they shoot, moving the actual sight on the riser isn't an option...so you switch peep sizes to properly frame, which then allows better alignment. Using rifles irons isn't completely equivalent. Alignment wise, yes...framing wise, no...peep/sight on bows rely on framing to obtain perfect alignment. If this isn't an issue for you, congratulations you don't shoot far enough to notice. If you've got alignment off by a small margin due to improper framing at 80, 90, 100+ then you can be off by 6+ inches on the target.

    Moving a sight out farther past the riser means a longer sight radius. It may show more torque, but it's showing it not inducing it. That allows for the shooter to correct for the error. Just like the difference between rifle sights and pistol sights. More distance between the peep and the sight, the greater the accuracy. If I could stick my sight at the end of my stabilizer, and still see through it properly, I would. Can't.

    If I'm not mistaken, the steeper the string angle, the larger your peep. Because a long draw length on short ATA bow would bring the peep further from your eye than it would on a larger ATA bow. It's a combo of DL and ATA, but it is more reliant on the ATA of the bow than DL of the archer
