21:35 ; lose the cage, attach an 80mm or two 40mm to the front and use non-flammable tape (or a custom plexi/metal plate) to seal off the rest of the holes. The extra holes reduce the amount of thrust your pull fans can create. I also oriented the fan all the way towards the motherboard side so that the air isn't being pushed onto the bulky PSU mount, but pushing all the way to the back of the case. Great vid!!

i cut a nice circle out of the mounting cage of the front fan with a wire cutter. that will give it 100% obstruction free airflow. if you wanted to get creative, just snip out sections. if you are worried that wires might get in the fan. i ziptied all the wires so i dont have that issue. 22:00

For others that try this, I was able to get the radiator out of the top without removing the CPU cooler, heatsinks, or memory sticks. I just wiggled it out of the top - being very careful of the tubes - then I unscrewed the fan and installed two Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM fans in push/pull. The nice thing is that these fans are much thinner than the stock fan, so both of them take up just a little more space than the stock fan. The top fan is now running at 35% 60C and the front fan at 27% 60C. The only issue is right now my front fan stays at 27% (according to Command Center), but the top fans are varying their speed from 35-45%.

The screw holes for the Noctua fans had some plastic that was blocking the original fan screws since the head on them is a little wide. I took a pair of needle nose pliers and broke away the plastic so the screws would fit. I was able to find some longer screws that I had around with the same threading as the screws that were removed from the top. They just need to be a little longer than the Noctua fan is thick. Hello. You didn't need to take the top panel off. The area your AIO and fans go in is actually a removeable bracket. If you look at your farthest left ram stick (to the right of the CPU) and then look directly forward you'll see a single screw. Remove that screw and the entire cage will slide out. You'll have to remove the CPU power cable for clearance and un-route that cable from the cable management guides (there are two, one plastic, one metal) and out of the way. The 2nd screw for the cage is from the original fan bracket you unscrewed which connects to the left side of the cage.

Just happened that i rebuild my Alienware R10 Aurora Ryzen edtion a few months ago. the tower came with the water cooling system, upgraded to a ryzen 7 5800X cpu and a RTX 3070 "DELL" GPU. with the stock fans in there, they were pretty loud when it came to play games at full resolution. did a lot of research and decided to put in 4 Noctua Fans in there and just like you did, i did the push pull set up on the radiator and 2 other fans at the front case. i bought the tower used and i know it is over kill, but it came with a 1000 Watt Power supply. also put in a new thermal paste on the new cpu and new thermal pads for the voltage regulators. what use to run at 52deg C on idle, is now down to 28-29 deg C on idle. i haven't seen that machine running any hotter than 75 deg C. i also did the same process on putting a thermal pads and paste on the GPU and the temperature dropped dramatically from 90 to 75 Deg C. So it is definitely worth doing all that work. Great video and keep on the good work. =)

Definitely awesome video Ivan, thank you for your time and efforts to show it here so everyone can get great benefit of it!! Just got a couple of questions regarding the fans and RAMs upgrade: 1. Would you mind to let me know what brand & model of the fan are you using to replace the HDD slot? I’ve read the comments that you’ve put the 80mm stock CPU fan in it, but 92mm will work too. So what is the brand & model your fan in the HDD slot? 2. Regarding all the fans connection, although I’ve connected all them but I’m a bit unsure. First of all, like in your video I replaced front, top and AIO stock fans with 3 Corsair ML120 Pro fans. Then I used 2 Y-splitters from Noctua, one connects top fan & AIO fan then plugging into “Top Fan” on motherboard, another one connects front fan & added HDD slot fan then plugging into “Front Fan” on motherboard. For the short cable comes from AIO pump, it connects to “Pump Fan” on motherboard. I’ve also notice this leaves “CPU Fan” port on motherboard vacant. Would you please confirm this is the correct set-up? Thank you so much.

  • @HardwareSense

The HDD cage fan is the stock CPU fan, any 80mm or 92mm would work. The top 2 fans on the AIO should be in the CPU Fan PWM plug and the front in the Front fan plug, AIO Pump in the Pump plug.

I've been playing 2077 in 1440p @60p (TV is only 60hz) everything high as the setting will go. The temps stay in the low 80s. I personally couldn't have asked for more. the fans stay around 2,800 to 3000 RPM. it doesn't really bother me you can hear it in the background but I don't think it's worth replacing. Someday after my warranty is up... I'm going to take all the parts out of this one and build the case that I like. I don't have anything against this case but I would love to see my components. What I can't figure out is if I should get two more sticks of RAM on the two empty slots... if it'll help or not? Hi, thanks for your good video. So you have 3 Corsair ML-120 Pro fans (front, top pull/push) and stock cpu fan (front). Do you have any BIOS error of if you run the Alienware command center test, will the fan test fail? And for the top fun push/pull, do you still remember which fan goes the 3 pin of the y split and which fan goes to the 4 pin? I am currently trying to upgrade front fan with Noctua NF-P12 fan but it failed the fan test and make my system crashed. Thank you very much.

Excellent information overall .. I am guessing you couldn't add the watercooling as a option with that sale price so you had to go thru some hoops to get that all up and going. Not sure the push/pull is doing all that much more considering the temps you are getting from just the normal LC cooling. Mine will hit 77c (ish) if i let it and leave everything at stock. I use the Ryzen master software though to undervolt taking it to 4.1GHZ all core at 1.2V (3700x) and it never hits 70 degrees. For the most part though I have it running at 3.65GHZ all core at 0.96V and it never hits 60c in any situation.

Wow, that was a great deal on the R10 with an RTX3070 for $1200. Last week I was able to buy an R10 with a Ryzen 3800x, Liquid Cooling 1000w PSU, Lunar Light case, RTX 2070, 8GB of DDR4 2933Mhz, 512GB Nvme, Wifi 6 for $1240. I plan to upgrade the RAM with (Adata) XPG 16GB Dual Channel 3200Mhz. Ivan, what's the highest clock RAM the R10 will take, 3600Mhz? How much and which RAM do you suggest?

I have a r11 (air cooled) ((big mistake)) with i7 10700F and 2070super and noticed my cpu temps were around 95c average gaming so I panicked and quit gaming. I opened up the case just for shits, left the case open and put a small usb powered fan blowing inside the case and my cpu temps went down to 74c average. Thats over 20c average difference without changing any parts, that's just insane.
