Go rest high on that mountain
I heard Alan Jackson say once that he didn’t write this song. God did.
What can i say I remember 911 very well. I'm a country born & raised person. I love this country. If you don't love this country get out. There's too much hatred, why can't we all get along
When I was Seven, my Twin died. When I was 11, I was diving off a rock alone and hit my head on a reef. I felt some one grab me and pull me to shore. When I looked up at who saved me. It was my twin brother who looked like how i remember him. He then said I be OK and literally disappeared ! Can wait to see him in Heaven.
I don't think I'll ever forget that I was at work the day of this senseless & tragic day 😢Watching that 1st plane hit the 1st Twin Tower just seemed, surreal to me. I was in complete shock at 1st, then Watching the news coverage of all it, it just hit me & I could not stop the tears from flowing 😢 It was all just so horrific to watch as the rest of 9/11 unfolded. One of the things I saw happen on TV that day, that, for one reason or another, that haunts me still, almost 23 years later, was watching some of the victims jumping from extreme heights, to their deaths....God Bless to everybody, whether here or watching over us, who perished "When the World Stopped Turning" 🇺🇲🫡💔🙏 Alan, Thank You for writing such a beautiful song 🙏
I was cleaning in the rental office waiting room. the TV was on. Large screen TV I stopped the vacuum when I saw smoke coming from the tower. I turned up the sound. My heart sunk. I walked to the office and said come and see this, it's important. I was listening to the astonishment the grief in the newsmen's words. I watched as the second plane hit. I watched during my lunch break and started to cry as the towers began to collapse. I will never forget. I excused myself to make an important call to find out where a pilot I knew was that day. They answered he is fine. That was a huge relief. But I was still in shock for the audacity of it, the loss of life, the scale of the attack. I will never forget how I felt that day. Here in the city where I went to school the staff of a Lutheran church next door to a Mosque stood around it to protect it from hate crimes because news was saying that terrorists from the Middle East had attacked the towers. It was just hearsay. Christians stood around the Mosque to protect the peaceful Muslims inside. This is America. We take care of each other. People who have faith should live it. They did. They still do. A van full of a restaurant baseball team was coming back from a game on the east coast when they heard the news on the radio. They turned around and drove to ground zero as fast they could to provide food for the survivors and first responders. I was so proud to work for them. Those are my 9/11 stories. Thanks for asking. One of the things I love about country music, its the I love my country theme, the songs that are national anthems. This is one of the best.
It doesn't matter how many years this song has been out there every time I hear it it brings tears to my eyes

I WAS HOME WITH CRYING,, FOR ALL THE PEOPLE THAT WAS KILLED THAT DAY!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
My kids were in school. I knew they were okay. The news came on my TV. I stood in front of that television for at least an hour. I was sad, mad, shocked and for someone in their 30s some innocence was stolen from me that day. My kids got home from school and I hugged them and we talked. Everyone remembers where they were when they found out. I think the whole world cried. 😢
Same here. I remember. I cried for weeks . I saw it all. I was standing in my living room and all sudden I saw the news and I screamed we are at war. I was terrified. The weeks that followed was he'll.
Man, I'll never forget sitting in the living room watching this for the first time on the awards with my family and when it was over none of us could speak. I truly felt that lump in my throat and we were all crying. It's such a powerful song and always will be.

Alan Jackson has the ability to write a heartfelt song, then sing it calmly and beautifully yet still get the point across. I appreciate that. A Steve Earle quote from one his songs “I don’t remember learning how to hate in Sunday school”. Don’t hate an entire nation for what a bunch of extremists do.
Today we take the time to remember 9-11 and the 3,000 lives that were lost on that horrible horrible horrible day and I hope/pray that we have learned something from this horrible horrible horrible sad event!! And I hope that it doesn’t happen ever again. And my deepest/heartfelt condolences go out to all the families who lost their loved ones on that day. And their memories/stories will never be forgotten I promise you that :)And God bless you Mr. Allan Jackson for writing this amazing song it’s given so many families peace/closure. And you will see your loved ones in someday very soon that’s Gods promise to you!!
A song that still means so much to us, 20 years later. 🌹A rose for all those who not only lost their lives, but those who survived and still suffer.

I'm Canadian and I remember going to work that day and everyone was like zombies in shock and disbelief at what happened to our neighbours that day. Another thing that hit us was the stories of people we knew from work that missed their flights the day before that would've been in the towers when it happened if they hadn't missed their flights. I will never forget the evil that attacked and murdered those in the buildings, surrounding areas and planes.

Praying for ya!🙏🏼
I was in 8th grade and my mom checked me out of school. I remember walking with her in the quad and i saw the worry in her eyes. Her fear of the unknown but trying to be a mom and not add fear to mine. They shut down alabama and the military took over for a bit. The roads were loaded down with our military vehicles. Listening again this 4th of July. Praying America will be united like we were then, one voice and one heart, and understanding together what we are facing, much of what eminates from this fateful day in our most recent history.
This song still brings tears and the question of why. We still don't understand, but we ALL need to still talk to God and Jesus.
I was 6 years old when 9/11/01 happened. I was in school and sent home early with a letter to our parents. I came home and my mom was crying. Did not know until she told us what happened. The letter that the school sent us to give to our parents told them not to tell us what happened. Both my parents are now retired military and my dad had to overseas.
Thank God for Alan Jackson.
