George W. Bush cries delivering eulogy for his father, George H.W. Bush (Full Eulogy)

Former President George W. Bush tears up while eulogizing his father, George H.W. Bush, at a state funeral in Washington.
The 43rd president said his father, the 41st president, taught him how to lead.
"He showed me what it means to be a president who serves with integrity, leads with courage and acts with love in his heart for the citizens of our country," Bush said. "When the history books are written, they will say that George H.W. Bush was a great president of the United States."
Bush's eulogy ended on an emotional note. Concluding his remarks, he added through tears: "Your decency, sincerity and kind soul will stay with us forever. So through our tears, let us know the blessings of knowing and loving you, a great and noble man. The best father a son or daughter could have."

I gave a eulogy for my father in 2007 and my mother in 2020. I'd have to say that my parents were the best anyone could hope to have. Though we still deeply miss both of them, they are together again in God's loving embrace, and we'll be joined with them again some day. My mom and dad taught all of us to love and to serve others with decency, dedication, and durability.

Setting aside political opinions, Bush Jr was President when I was ages 10 - 18, so I feel some kind of strange connection to this man. To watch him stand before the country again, not as President, but as a man who lost his mother earlier this year, and now has to say goodbye to his father - and a man with real love and pain in his heart - This video made me cry. Beautiful speech.

Best Eulogy I've ever heard. It doesn't matter the political affiliation -- I watched this again because we need to know a country in which we had values, grace, dignity and sacrifice for the American people. Brilliantly spoken for his Dad George H.W., George W. can rest assured that his 'gift' of the final spoken words in the Washington National Cathedral were the best a son could ever grant a father, and a President recognizing another President. Incredibly heartfelt, a poignant reminder of greatness defined and lost, with a son following in his Dad's footsteps.

No matter a mans stature, he is still human and feels what you and I feel. I was too young to properly understand George W Bushs’ presidency, but that aside; this was one of the nicest eulogies I’ve heard delivered beautifully. It’s a horrible thought, but the time will come for everyone who reads this, or watches this video to do the very same for their parents or loved ones. It’s true when they say nothing can prepare you for the leap that is loosing a parent no matter their age. The security they offer us even in adult life for those lucky enough to have parents around until they’re a mature adult. It’s a huge step in all of our lives and if I can manage a speech even half as good as this for my parents when the time comes, Ill be satisfied I’ve given them a good send off. 🙂
