So brave to share your story. I went through just a tiny amount of this, absolutely nothing as bad as your experience but it was so terrifying and if I had continued my meds for more than the only 8 days I took them for, I'm sure I wouldn't be here now. The terrible consequences for some people of taking these drugs needs to be widely publicised and they should never be prescribed in the free and easy way that they are to millions of people.

Why os this shit allowed to keep happening? NOTHING IS DONE TO STOP THESE PRESCRIPTIONS.

I suffered from this for many years. It’s the worst feeling, ever. I have gone through this for years. It’s more than torcher. It is hell! In 2006, I was in the hospital, because of suicidality due to Akathesia caused by Abilify. I still have these symptoms. Especially, when stressed. I have most of my problems in the afternoon. I either stay home or have to go home because of the anxiety. I can’t drive very many place, either. I am not as good of a driver. It’s the worst feeling. Every day I have anxiety. But, some days are so bad, that I have the same feelings I had with the Akathesia. I think I am going to talk to my psychiatrist. Besides, I have other side effects. Because, I cannot get off of my medications without severe panic attacks and terrible scared feeling. So, now I am on Midodrin to raise my blood pressure due to passing out. The hospital will make the Akathesia worse. If your stomach is upset,they will give you Reglan. Also, young adults and teens are subject to getting Akathesia. If the Akathesia is bad, benzodiazepines will not help. I am 61 years old and disabled by schizoaffective disorder and thought that the terrors are from that. I also seem selfish. Because, I am always trying to get through the day. I have less anxiety if I stay home.

I've been down this road, I no longer have the morning inner shaking, no longer have tinnitus, no more scratching my skin off, no more akathisia ( still get restless legs at times). Slowly but surely does it. Be patient everyone xx

Marcello isn’t really the best spokesperson for you all. He has always been rude to me. I tried to comment on his posts in Akathisia groups and I’ve just been met with hostility and anger out of nowhere. Like you’re not the only one suffering kiddo. And the constant desperate posts? Yeah, we’re all there buddy. I didn’t get Akathisia from being on a medication that I know of. I was ripped off ALL my meds in 2018 and then put on a new cocktail for “bipolar”. Like you got it from a medication? A medication? Now multiply that times the amount of meds I was ripped off.

I've been suffering from chronic akathisia for 13 years now. My brother died because of this madness. I would love to do a podcast with you. My case is complicated. I got akathisia from one pill of effexor in 2010. I want to share my story to prevent this happening to others.

20 years ive suffered. Doctors dont get it.
