    Calisthenics body weight training and walking. No gym, no equipment, no excuses. Add weights and bands on top of that, but never needing the gym is powerful. I know people who were stuck in quarantine hotels at the beginning of the pandemic and they kept fit mentally and physically with prison style calisthenics. Nowhere to go, nothing better to do.

    Regarding exercise people used to laugh when I worked as a stock boy at a big box. I didn’t really need the money but I got paid to do workouts everyday. Why pay a gym when I could get walking steps, heavy weight lifting, squats and manual dexterity exercise for free and get some extra $ in my pocket? Lots of pro athletes making millions of dollars take physical jobs in the off season to stay in shape. Great advice and breakdown Antonio!

    I was always short and very young looking and I detested it. As a teenager I was always assumed to be 8 or 9 years old when I wanted to look my age, what's important to a kid. When I was 22 and drove my own car, the police stopped me because they thought I was too young to drive a car. I was hassled in bars about fake ID and being in there, underage. In the navy when I was 28, they thought I was 18 , and every time my birthdate came up, it was assumed to be a mistake and should have been 1964 instead of 1954. Everybody said I was so lucky because I could have love affairs with young girls, but when young girls found out I was so much older than they were, they shied away. People think they want to look young, but they wouldn't want it

    Tip 13 - lifelong activity! Key points: do not be overweight, never smoke (the worst thing you can do physiologically), take regular exercise. Antonio, BMI is crap; every pro athlete, every body builder, every weight lifter will be morbidly obese using BMI - it is a simple thing physicians use that does not differentiate between fatty mass and fat free mass. Trust me, I am a sports scientist and physiologist among other things.

    Agree with all, except BMI. Perhaps if you're in the groups you list, BMI is irrelevant. But if you're Joe Schmo the Weekend Warrior...nothing positive can come from a BMI of 45. High BMI is easy shorthand for overweight; it's not precise but it's very effective for communicating. Even Terrell Brown (NFL OL, 6'10" 385#) has a BMI of about 40.

  • @alwayspooh1588

    @alwayspooh1588

    Жыл бұрын

    @@danesthesia09 That is what I am saying, BMI is no good for athletes, yet physicians use it for a 'catch all'. Joe Bloggs/Joe Schmo would not need a BMI reading, just visual observation would be enough. An expensive but accurate measurement would be hydrostatic weighing. Skin fold calibers (using 4 sites) would be a much better measurement for athletes and non-athletes alike, at least that would consider fat free mass, and not just whole mass.

    According to the BMI I am supposed to weigh 165 lbs. I weight 215. I have a little fat, like most men my age (55) but I am far from out of shape. What am I supposed to do to lose 50 pounds? Cut my legs off? I know the military was big on this when I was a young buck but when this 215 pound “fat ass” could outrun guys half my age and my endurance and total long distance running was off the chart I didn’t put a lot of stock in it. Young bucks now drinking and smoking couldn’t hold a candle to me. Never smoked or got into the booze. Probably could eat better but energy conversion has never been a problem.

    You cannot build a solid foundation on a singular pillar, it would become a sing point failure, you need multiple in order distribute the weight so if one gets damaged the whole structure doesn't come down immediately, but it still needs repair as the integrity is compromised. But together they are stronger even when damaged than a single strong one. This philosophy applies to money, health, career and life.

Picked up over 500 nails and screws plus some 500 bags of trash. Wearing a red, white and blue shirt, people wave, honk, stop shout thank you, and stop to give me gift cards or a water bottle.Occasionally they fold money into an airplane and send it over to me or leave it for me to find before I pass them by. Go home, shower, and go to work.
