negative muse: Well if that’s true, you’re a kick back from one of the greatest generations. It’s ok to be a manly man. These good men from this generation are good solid people who had a well self-developed mind, a person of character. They treated everyone with respect. They had lovely manners, but the bottom line was they had principles and code of conduct that has been lost on the last two generations. I wish you luck.

Saw him in a grocery store in Malibu about 10 years ago......I said "how's it going Mr Elliott"?? He said "Fine, u can call me Sam" We chatted a bit in line, nice guy like Jay Leno.

What you say is true but it's also an act of becoming a star (which he said that he wanted to be when younger) and a helluva' good living.

i don't know the man personally..but every character I've seen him play...every interview he gives...just ooozes integrity. A real Man's Man.

1993 me and my newlywed were at a hotel in Tucson when the cast of Tombstone was staying there. I didn't get to meet him but during breakfast he was eating next to us and offered to pay for our meal- Mr. Elliot is a true gentlemen

One of the all time greats. He's one of a few actors that will draw me to see a movie, regardless of plot, genre, period or fellow actors. I wish him many more years, and us... many more Sam Elliot movies.

It's his magnetic uplifting personality. He has class, and, very distinct mannerisms. He's a real man. Not too many of them in Hollywood anymore. They just don't make em like that anymore. He's a perfect role model for generations of boys, and men. Not hard to look at either.

I think his first movie was "Lifeguard" in which he played a sleep-around lifeguard. The one line I remember from him was "teachers make you do it over and over again until you get it right." He did very well in a few "Mission Impossible" TV episodes. He was quite good in "Road House". He seems to love playing the down-home types with character.

Sam Elliot is a legend. The man personifies hard work. God bless him.

Few in Hollywood can compare to men like Sam. So many of today's male actors are milqtoast bootlickers.

Cannot imagine what those soldiers thought looking at the beach, know their chance to survive was slim. This was a powerful story, giving a glimpse of what those hero's did for us. Good job to narrator Sam E.

ABSOLUTELY DESERVES AN ACADEMY AWARD! 50 years in that business and he still has a beautiful spirit. My FIRST Sam Elliott move was "LIFE GUARD" I was 12 years old and I thought he was the most beautiful man I ever saw. I am 56 now and I still feel the same way. I wish him all the best.

My entire life, literally my entire life I have been watching Mr. Elliott on TV and in movies. I could not imagine anyone replacing him, or anyone more deserving of any reward. He is a good man, actor, and human. God bless good sir

A dying breed this man. Integrity, charm, honesty, sexy, manly without being an Alpha, gentle yet strong... can we put any more adjectives before his name? Probably!! An Icon that will never get old. God love him.

Doing 50 years of anything you deserve an award.

Doesn't matter what the movies about, or who's in it with him, Sam Elliott has that line that everyone always remembers. Roadhouse being a prim example. Everyone remembers two things; Swayze ripping that guys treat out and the line "I'll get all the sleep I need when I'm dead".

My late father's favorite actor in the world. His entire personality seemed to mimic Sam's. Every time I see an interview or movie with Sam, I am immediately reminded of my father, voice and all.

I'm 53 and have l have loved him since I saw him in The Lifeguard when I was a young girl! So smoking hot, that voice and he just seems so humble and genuine. He is just a classy human being! I would just be in absolute awe if I ever had the chance to ever meet him, not that it would. I'm already sooo upset about the day he won't be here anymore. It should be a National Day of Mourning for such a wonderful man who just has it all!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE HIM!
