The new dci guidelines that states that only oral and maxillofacial surgeon can perform aesthetic procedures. Does that mean a simple BDS graduate can no longer perform such procedures?

What is explained in the video is esthetic dentistry not facial cosmetology. All the procedures explained in this video are related to teeth and gums and can be done by dentists. Do you have a copy of dci guidelines. Could you please share it in on Instagram @kaizendental. Thanks in advance.

Thanks a lot❤️.. The give certificates but most courses are not recognized degrees. DCI only recognizes BDS and MDS. So most important is what they teach. About the books will try posting the list on Instagram soon 🙂..

In all countries it is your BDS and MDS that are officially recognized rest all courses are for skill enhancement. They show the employers and patients that you can do these procedures well.

No you can't do facial surgeries like nose job after BDS you have to do masters in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

If you have seen the video, have mentioned aesthetic dentistry is not separate as such 🙂. It is basically anyone who can do good looking work. If you are good at various procedures like anterior composites, veneers, you will get hired by top clinics which do these procedures routinely. As patients pay more for higher quality work you get higher end pay as well.

Go for it only if u get a government seat either in state government dental college or aims and after completing ug go for the same government colleges for pg then u could earn good and build your career as a successful consultant since you have mentioned you are a from middle class family and initial earning is a must, then dont go for it on any private colleges because this field is strictly self employment field you would need lot of capital to start a clinic and wait for couple of years to get into good practice. Go for it only if u get government seat dont go private institutions...

We don't plan to make a video regarding those as we don't have any feedback.. so can't advice anyone to attend till we know how it is..

Sir im a re-repeater ...but im not sure abt getting gud marks and get a seat for mbbs ....i actually i was not intrested in bds before ....but knowing more abt the course and scope abroad makes me more into it ..actually now i like it ...and wanna take it as my career ...if bds i will surely be a cosmetic dentist...but still a bit confused abt taking bds and studying mbbs abroad .... Dont know what to do ...can u plz help...

Hi see BDS careers in India are a bit difficult currently because the number of dentists graduating are more than required.. But in all fields there will be successful people. So even though there is a lot of competition success is possible.. If you prefer MBBS select that.. don't take bds only as back up option.. you may feel stuck later if you don't like it..

Second if you plan to settle abroad not sensible to do BDS here.. better do it abroad as it is difficult to move out after bds from India as the degree not recognized in most countries.. and slowly other countries are making it difficult to shift out..

I also feel never take BDS as an alternative or take BDS because one will see scope in foreign Actually 90% of the BDS graduates going abroad to clear their test but only 1 to 5% are successful because of financial pressure and long term studying

There are good courses available both in india and abroad. Doing it in India is more cost effective. Currently the knowledge and teaching in is good in India as well. But yes if you have a specific university abroad you want to learn from you can go there.
