Another outstanding video, on a topic that few if any instructors cover. Again, just my ever so humble opinion.

Bruce Lee talked about energy leaks. That's exactly what this is. You can't let the potential, actual, or stored energy leak during the swing.

I did extensive interview with world champion martial arts master Bill Jones about this. This is very much based upon martial arts concepts. Correct.

One swing thought that's made an impact (literally) with my swing is not letting the shoulders rotate more than the hips in the backswing. From the face-on view it may appear that way, however, it's because of the stretch in the lead shoulder/lat. Otherwise, when I'm rotating through the shot my torso (hips and shoulders) are connected. The only time I release this is in the follow-through when the hips run out of rotation and the momentum of the club carries the shoulders around in the finish. The cohesive rotation allows for consistency in every shot regardless of the length of the swing.

I would completely disagree with this approach. Nothing is correct about what you are saying here.

Great video, will the tighten of the muscles reduce the speed? I understand the blending in the body with the swing to anchor the base but this seems to create a drag in speed if you are trying to tighten muscles. Is there a level of feel you suggest that is not too loose but not to tight.

Cohesive body tension will increase speed of your rotation.. significantly. We teach the students to have proper hand attitudes in Module 5 so that the hands are not encumbered. It's a very special skill set few have, but critical. You can have a suppleness and flexibility within the wrist joints that allows the club to slot and transition correctly... still maintaining a firm attachment to the club. We teach how to do this.
