In Canada, I was wide awake during my colonoscopy. It was ok but there are a couple of times when the pain is bad. I looked at my colon even though I said I never would.

I had silent GERD that caused laryngitis…. For THREE MONTHS. Spritzing my throat with alkaline water made my voice return within a week.

Thanks for sharing. Alkaline water seems to provide some relief as a topical therapy for symptoms like this.

I have dark stool with cracks, rectum bleeding(not a crazy amount), and stomach pain small amount of blood in stools, and constipation.I have ignored these symptoms for a long time and they have been persistent for about a year. I haven’t been drinking a lot of water, though. I’m 12 and at first I thought I had cancer but the chances of me having colon cancer are very slim. I’m too embarrassed to tell my parents because I’m not close with them. Any ideas of what it could be? I really need some reassurance because I recently started looking into it and have been having some bad anxiety about it. Edit: and chest pain/pressure but I don’t know if that’s relevant to this issue.

You describe constipation with the cracks in your stool. This would fit with not drinking much water and perhaps not having enough vegetables. With constipation you can develop hemorrhoids or anal fissures which can cause some bleeding. You’re right-at your age something scary is less likely. This sounds like a chance to get closer to your parents. Nothing like bowel movements to force a conversation with your parents.

Hello Dr,Mark greetings on your mission to impart medical knowledge with common people. I am john 37, writing this comment because of suffering bad breath for the last 20 years met with more than 8 professionals(ent) and also took a CT scan one month ago( already did in 2020 also)My doctor advised she cannot confirm that its not sinus issue even though i have deviated septum. I usually undergone with my dental checkup regularly and they said the oral hygiene is acceptable. I have issues with my stomach,but there is no pain or any uncomfortable situation which required medical attention. But in morning some sounds came from stomach and when i drink water it goes away. This issue severely affected my life both physically and mentally. I am being sidelined from professional as well as social life. The sad situation is nobody can sit beside me (2metre circumference) i humbly request your kind attention on this and please give an opinion,if possible . Thanks for your precious time.

Do you have your tonsils and if so have you had tonsil stones? These can be very odorous and would probably not show up on any imaging. An ENT might express stones from your tonsils by using a cotton swab to probe your tonsils.
