Please do a how to do a full service video for the Topaz T3 Air. How and what tools to sort out the damper? how much oil to pour and what is the air pressure in the damper?

I have the newest version of this shock and noticed after the first couple rides that it’s a little soft up top for my liking. I am used to hard tails and small travel bikes. I put a spacer in the negative and it feels a lot better. Not stiff, just more responsive. Super easy tweak too, sick!

I had the same issue. Used a guitar pick to help dislodge the o-ring.

Is the disassembly the same for the new gen? Can't find an info on differences. I want to add spacers but don't want to mess it up.

Hey! Thx 4 the vid! 🤙 I saw it quite a while ago and now I want to tune my shock a bit. Could I ask you here, what your recommendation would be for the regular ibis ripmo in L, 145mm travel? In order to avoid bottom outs, I did add 2 positive spacers and feel like my fork needs more spaces too to compensate my slightly "forward position", especially on cornering. Thx! 👊

Hey Guys Great vid. I am 200 lbs on Transition Patrol. Currently running 1 vol spacer in the positive chamber and none in the negative. What would you recommend. Also is one of the beauties of the DVO that you dont need to remove the shock to add vol spacers. Keep up the good work

HI guys, do have any instructions how to adjust stroke on the shock? I have a 230x65 shock and should change the stroke to fit my frame at 60.

Travel spacer , i’m doing that right now

What’s the recommended spacer setup if I’m a struggling climber. I ride mainly at Tapia......your backyard from the office. I want to get more miles in but I’m usually over it by the time I get back down.

That depends a lot on what bike you have, but for the most part running spacers in the negative side will firm up the initial stroke so it will pedal better. You can always swing by the office and we can help you out too!

O you need to remove air from the bladder also .

Does the website have a chart for weight/volume spacer starting points? Topaz. 210lbs with gear on slightly progressive frame? 160mm travel, 63mm stroke. Thanks!

Simon Tacilauskas it does not since it varies so much on the bike that you have. If your frame is slightly progressive, we would recommend one spacer in both positive and negative. Let me know what bike you’re riding and we can help you out further!

Thank you! It’s a 2016 Orbea Rallon. 216x63. 160mm travel. I believe if I’m not mistaken it goes from 2.6 at the beginning to 2.4 at the end of the progression curve. Thanks for the awesome products!! Now have two Topaz and Two diamonds in the house!

Simon Tacilauskas ahh ok, for that bike a good starting point would be 2 positive spacers and nothing in the negative. Set your sag where you like it and give it a try. Then if you want the bike to stand up a bit more at the beginning, add a spacer in the negative. Feel free to call us and we can help you out if you’re having any trouble!

Hey, I have a DVO Topaz T3 Air. When I compress the suspension it makes a squishy sound during the start of the compression. Almost sounds like air getting into the oil maybe. When I compress it lower there is no sound. Is this normal wear that just requires a rebuild?

Check the bladder pressure. Set that to 200psi. If it still makes the noise, you'll need a bleed

@@developedsuspension I just got it back from the rebuild shop. They serviced it and it sounds great now.

If anybody has a tip to get that first o-ring off at the bottom of the can on the gen 3 topaz, I'd love ideas. I tried a credit card (gently) but I pretty quickly realized that would damage the o-ring. Can't get it to slide off by hand no matter what I do. It's in there good.

Trying too get around 185/190 in the bladder But whenever I get to the desired pressure,I unscrew the Pump and half of what I have put in comes out and goes down to 90psi ....... How do I Stop this happening?? As I do not want to over inflate the bladder to achieve 185/190psi. But as I see it to get over this I need to put in over 260psi to allow the escape of pressure. This is a brand new shock just fitted to my nomad 2013 .

braddersfire13 When you attach the pump the air in the bladder has to fill the empty pump. This is normal. Set it to the correct pressure and don’t worry. The air that escapes when you take the pump off is only from the pump. The valve on the shock closes before any gets out.

What is the maximum number of spacers that can be built in with an installation dimension of 230x65?

why you would add volume spacers to the negative portion of the air can is beyond me. surely the design of the shock with this outer air sleeve is to provide the larger negative volume and improving the small bump sensitivity. adding bands complete negates this design principle.

There's a limit to everything. Too much negative air will cause the bike to sit too far into sag, unless you pump up the overall shock pressure in which case you may never use all the travel (if the bike is too progressive).

Because on some frames you could blow through the top half of the travel far too easily! Depends on bike+rider+terrain, you don't have to use every available option, but it's super nice to have the options just-in-case.
