    As someone who grew up with the first film and cartoon series, it's hard to describe how happy it makes me to know this franchise is properly revived. Afterlife was a wonderful film that made me laugh AND cry, but there being another movie set in the same universe and timeline really drives home that it's happening.

    Guar and xanthan gum are a lot easier to get in bulk and probably a fair bit cheaper. I've used guar gum a lot, and it is super mucus-like all on it's own. I also have a few tubs of xanthan gum that is used as water-compatible adhesives, though I've never watered it down into slime. Very tempting all of a sudden. 😁

  • @Full-tilt-banana

    @Full-tilt-banana

    @@C-M-E Xanthan gum is 100% what was used. An easily bought compound, much cheaper than sourcing the other stuff and buying in large bulk. It's used far and wide for mass-produced stuff -- if it was more expensive, other methyl-cellulose alternative stuff would be used. Plus it is mentioned in the video that it is food-safe. Damn, there's even a Babish video recreating McDonald's sweet and sour sauce, and using it as it was an ingredient they had listed. Vegan bakers all over youtube use it for anything that needs gluten. If you were working a production, using store-bought / proven food safe, for actors, would you choose something available to buy on a food aisle, or stuff needed to be specially bought from a chemical company?
