I first heard Melissa when she performed Ding with Feuerschwanz and didn't realize at the time how new she was to being a full time singer. It's as impressive as seeing how good Elizabeth is with these interviews and realizing they only started about a year ago.

I think it's just because they are both genuinely nice and sweet people with interesting things to say.

Ms. Bonny is the complete package. She's a beautiful young lady with a stunning voice, an engaging stage presence, and a bestial growl that will floor you when she unleashes it. Also happens to be a sweetheart with a crazy work ethic.I expect nothing but the best from this channel, and Mrs. Zharoff and Ms Bonny both have a habit of exceeding the highest of expectations; so it looks like it's gonna be a fun Friday! I heard a band she's in is playing nerdy tunes. You should listen to the Dark Side of the Moon (and Ad Infinitum, and Rage of Light, ect)

What impressed me most about Melissa was her maturity. She related several stories about how she has been given critiques and then put in the work to address the issues that were pointed out. Her parents must be so proud to have raised such a humble, hard working, and gifted person. It is no wonder why so many bands want to collaborate with her. Great Interview!

I'm definitely excited about this one. She doesn't get enough recognition.

Is it just me or does Melissa seem to be the sweetest, loving, kind and fun to be around and work with packet of positive vibes you've ever seen? I was so captivated by her overall energy, you know? What a fantastic performer. Ad Infinitum is on (nearly) all my current playlists! Can't wait to see where this band will go in the future. I’m glad to see Melissa and Ad Infinitum get some love…they’re awesome! You should really check out Adrienne Cowan from Seven Spires. She’s classically trained AND she can do pretty insane harsh vocals, but the thing I think you’ll appreciate the most is her facial expressions lol. She’s intense.

Melissa Bonny is just amazing. She is also nerdy which is even more amazing.

OFC she loves Floor:) I feel that same warmth from Melissa, it's a very attractive quality in a person. Just downloaded everything she has done on Spotify!

Melissa is such a sweetheart. I absolutely love her accent.

Excited! What a fantastic guest - and so totally deserving of interest and attention by anyone who hasn't heard her work yet. Both Ad Infinitum albums are terrific and it isn't just about the voice (the voice though!) but the whole process of the engagement and creation of incredible art. Another incredible metal singer - so grievously overlooked - with an incredible toolkit of vocal technique, stage presence, and charisma.

I have only exposed to these talented woman metal singers these past few months. It started with Floor Jansen and Nightwish at the end of May 21st and continuing to Simone Simons , Tarja, Anette ,Alissa, Sharon, Maria Franz and so on . It has only been just recently I heard Melissa Bonny sing... I think she was suggested to me by an Instagram bot just about a month ago and I have started to listen to her music too. She has a wonderful voice ! There is so much talent out there to support . I have been supporting artists through by streaming , buying merch when I can afford it and paying for tickets for virtual shows. I guess a ood point of this chat is that many of my favourite artists are not several times over millionaires like some pop artists in America are and need our support to keep on making the music that we fans love to listen to .

I've been a fan of Ms. Bonny's music for a while now and am quite anxious for this interview. However, I had to pause it quickly and mention how strongly I was struck by the beauty of her smile in the opening interview shot. Pure loveliness!

OMG you ladies are overflowing this interview with cuteness, even more than Elizabeth normally does(which is a feat in itself).... These interviews are growing on me like crazy, this is one of the clear upsides of this whole pandemic mess. When will we see collabs between Elizabeth and some of these singers? I mean in a similar fashion as Charlotte Wessels and Alissa White-Gluz did "Lizzie" together for Patreon... no actual in-life contact needed.

Glad you had Melissa on. She is sweet, talented and genuine interesting personality. Even better this aired when the new Feuerschwanz record Memento Mori on which Melissa also sang hit No 1 in Germany (literally when this video premiered). Melissa is still very young (for the Metal-Genre) and she is already insanely good and very diverse in her style, it seems als her recent endeavors payed of very well. She might be the next big thing in metal and I would be very happy about that.

I enjoyed this interview so much. I replayed so many little bits that made me laugh, in a very good way. Melissa has such an amazing voice and very talented, and her band are also top class musicians. I really hope that they make it big. 😉👍

I love Elizabeth´s interviews, they are always so friendly and casual that all guests feel so comfty and let you see sides of them you dont usually see in other interviews, and Melissa Bonny was not different. These interviews are definitely your jam Elizabeth, hearing an interview of a musician hosted by a musician is so much better than radio or tv morons that don't have a single clue. I respect that in every interview you put in the research too it's nuts how much reading you must do on these musicians.

This is my favorite interview you’ve ever done. I found it very easy to watch from beginning to end, even though it still took me a few days. There were no parts that I had to force myself to keep watching, I was interested in every subject that was brought up here. She’s very charismatic and warm her self, and very beautiful. I am interested in hearing more of her voice, because it sounds crystal clear and beautiful when she’s speaking or singing.

This was just such a great interview... such great chemistry!

I found the time necessary to sit down and watch this. It was worth it. Far beyond having a fantastic voice, Melissa is just lovely in her attitude. Passionate about what she does but still sounding very down to earth. It's an approach many would do well to emulate.

Just came around to watch this. The vibes between the two of you are just phenomenal and fun to watch - almost as if you know each other since forever. Melissa is a fantastic singer (of course) but also a really nice person - warm and funny and (much too) modest about her outstanding talent. It was fun to watch you two, and kind of adorable how you were flattered by each others attention. (and of course, both of you are incredibly talented artists.) I loved this very much!

If I could pick who the next interview was going to be with, I'd have picked Melissa Bonny - one of the most exciting new talents in rock right now, and similarly Ad Infinitum is one of the best new bands. She comes across as having a wisdom beyond her years and to be a keen learner, open to both critique and new ideas. I enjoyed this immensely.

Floor Jansen is the same. Onstage she radiates confidence, but irl she's so mild and unassuming that comes off insecure. Floor once said that she becomes a different person onstage and I bet Melissa is the same.

this was a fantastic interview. elizabeth is a very good interviewer and guest melissa is a really likeable charismatic person like elizabeth too. thank you so much. melissa has such an insanely good voice and clearly star qualities. she will make her way. another subject I won´t give up upon: a long time nearly all people thought, real metal is to physical for women to play. singer perhaps, but band? nah! so in 2016 a female bassplayer, huge maiden fan, and a female drummer, helloween fan, founded a band. the singer came from R&B and had no clue about metal. now she can sound like bruce dickinsons granddaughter. one of the guitarists is a musical prodigy, the other one a female shredgod. first EP and album came out in 2017. in 2018 they won metal hammers "best newcomer" award and played Wacken as first all female metal band ever.´til now they have a backcatalogue of around 50 songs. all of them are very good or masterpieces. not even one is mediocre or stale. they wear white dresses to "deny expectations" and to be better visible, because they are so tiny. but don´t get fooled, they really can kick ass. these women derserve more recognition. im not sure if youve heard of the band Korn, but i adore them because they feel like they make music with just pure raw emotion and nothing else. "here it comes again" is one of my absolute favourites and its super complex at times so i think you'd have heaps of fun analysing it :)

It’s always a delight to see two people who are both very good at what they do, and who enjoy talking about their work. Wether it’s Elizabeth and other singers here, Tod and Matt Easton trying out/researching weird medieval weapons or B.Dave Walters and a guest talking about storytelling, DM’ing and how to engage players. Because both performers are professionals and the setting very informal, it allows for a very conversational and relaxed style of interview, which is really delightful and engaging to watch. :)

Best way to do circular breathing is with a whistle. Trying to blow the same tone blowing out or in ward. There is a distinct difference in breathe flow to maintain constant tone but it can be done.

What a delightful Tea Time. The openness, thought and thoroughness of responses was fantastic, the humour to be savoured and the mutual respect was enjoyable along with the tips and ideas I picked up as well. That''s a fascinating way to inspire (albeit unexpectedly) and album lol On a side note, what a brilliant explanation; I finally understand "growl" =). I still have fry/grit/snarl/etc to figure out but I'm DEFINITELY gonna be making weird noises for a while (*blushing* I already play with that inhale-sing thingie in my car or shower)

Also living in Tucson, I agree that Ad Infinitum definitely needs to tour here.

Love watching you and your reaction to talking with metal musicians. This was an interesting interview, she was quite engaging and pleasantly human. You two seemed to get along very well with each other. Keep the interviews coming, looking forward to who else from metal and hard rock you interview next. Just keep in mind Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge and Creed and Tremonti. He does interviews all the time and is a very interesting man. I think you would get along well with him.

What a great personality. I don't know too many celebrities who share a Jan 23 birthday with me, so it was pretty sweet to learn that Melissa was born on my first birthday!

I LOVE that Melissa's power metal influences are the same as mine Kamelot, Nightwish changed my life !! From there, I discovered so many amazing bands in the genre in EU and other places (US is still very light with power metal) Melissa is drop dead awesome ;) I'm in So Cal and I hope to see her here. Otherwise, I plan on going to see them in Munich this Summer.

Greetings! MELISSA BONNY is my favorite female vocal, she have an amazing vocals!!! i would like to hear one day a song with PARADISE LOST with Melissa too cause they are my favorite metal band!

You really need to check out Blackbriar , If you like singers like Nina Hagen or Kate Bush, Zorà has such great agility dancing between high notes. Wow at the same time she is so haunteling like a mythical creature. Which is incredible with dark gothic fantasy of her music.
