Acid-Base Calculation Practice Problems
In this live stream, we will go through how to use an acid-base concept map to solve acid-base calculation problems. This will include a discussion of the log scale as it pertains to acids and bases, p-scale calculations, and weak acid/base calculations.
We won't cover questions that relate to buffers in this session as that will be covered next week.

thank you sm!! used to get tripped over Ka values
this video was sooo helpful! you went through the questions that I usually skip on my practice MCAT. Thank you so much!!

Glad it was helpful!
this is very helpful, wow.
Around 51:50 - 51:59 , you mention that a buffer with a lower pH will be more acidic but that a buffer that favors base will be more acidic and this seems like a mistake to me because you say both are more acidic.
Question at the 22:35 mark of the video did you mean to say that x = 10^3? You mentioned that 10^3 should be equal to x but then you shifted back to 10^-6

I am working on being more consistent with videos going forward and will have one or two more out this week. I also have live streams every Monday at 6:30 pm EST.
@22:55 it should be pH =11 right b/c. H+ = 10^-3, pH = 3?

Yes, I made a mistake there and carried the wrong number forward. It should have been 10^-3 and in the previous step that is what we get for the [H+] concentration but I accidentally carried forward the non-square root value. Good catch!
