AC/DC - LIVE Joe Luis Arena, Detroit, USA, November 18, 1983 Full promos (4K AI upscaled pro-shot)
Музыка
AC/DC performing live at Joe Louis Arena, Detroit, Michigan, USA on November 18, 1983 during the Flick Of The Switch tour.
TV broadcast AI upscaled. The version from Plug Me In is overdub. These are the undubbed songs (minus You Shook Me All Night Long)
I read on acdcfans.net that this show was broadacast on MTV, I don't know if it was complete or just these songs. Maybe it was recorded for some promos (Nervous Shakedown was recorded in this arena). It is believed that both nights were recorded. Either way these are the only songs that have ever surfaced. Attached with this post comes the original Nervous Shakedown video clip ( • AC/DC - Nervous Shaked... ). I have to thank Tyler for sending me this one. ( / @highvoltagerocknroll )
About You Shook Me All Night Long: the version released on Backtracks has it's vocals overdub with the studio version. I made myself a new vocal track for the performance. It's not perfect, not the original, it's Brian's voice but from another gig. I believe it is more credible than having a studio vocal track. This song usually was played instead of T.N.T. so, my guess is that this was a 2nd encore (after For Those About To Rock), as you can listen Angus coming from a intro solo, that was cut for some reason. To top it of, I put together a few clips from the gig to mimic an actual performance.
00:00 - 01) Guns for Hire
04:50 - 02) Sin City
09:57 - 03) This House is on Fire
13:10 - 04) Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution
17:16 - 05) Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
21:34 - 06) Let There Be Rock
32:34 - 07) T.N.T.
36:02 - 08) For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)
42:42 - 09) You Shook Me All Night Long (new overdub)

MAN!!! I wanted to go but I was 12 and my mom wouldn't let me go with my 19 year old brother. I cried and cried. I got home from school that next Monday and he left me a concert shirt on my bed for when I got home. Those old school mid forearm baseball jersey style with the Flick of the switch cover on the front, and Angus on Brians shoulders on the back and it said 'The Switch is on'

God bless him Angus put every ounce of his soul and body into that Gibson and you could feel every note he played, never another guitarist and another band like ACDC.. I went to see them in 91 on the Razors edge tour in Dublin, I hadn't listened to them a lot or was majorly into them, went with a friend, they played for 2 and half hours, and they fuckin blew me away, I'll never forget that gig.. After that gig I bought every album since and before and a massive fan ever since, that doesn't happen often. Power age my fav album...RIP Malcolm and Bon...

Bic used to have an adjustable flame. There was a "gear wheel " that allowed it to be turned up. If you removed the stop on the wheel you could have a 2 foot flame 🔥. I looked but didn't see one that high in this video but I KNOW there was one there because I used it before the show and then forgot about it when lighting a cigarette later. Came very close to setting my hair on fire. I was toward the front left main floor at this very show. Fastway opened the show for them. 15 bucks a ticket bought you one FANTASTIC SHOW back in the day.

I remember vividly when this concert was aired on MTV. The days of everyone having a VCR was scarce and I begged my aunt and uncle to record it for me which they did. I still have the tape to this day. This should have been made into a live album like if you want blood was. I can't believe it was 40 years ago. I hadn't seen the live in Paris movie yet so this was my first seeing of them live. As a 14 year old, I was blown away
Flick of the Switch forever.
little did the audience know they weren't likely to see a better concert in their lifetime

This tour was the first concert I ever attended at maple leaf gardens in Toronto.I was 11 and I remembered two things the most. The fights in the crowd before the concert started and the smell of weed as soon as AC/DC played the opening riff of the first song and never stopped. When the show was over and the lights came on,all you saw was this huge cloud of smoke in the middle of the arena! The AC/DC concerts back then were like walking into a huge biker bar.😂
The Power of AC/DC Live was enough to light an entire City .
This and Landover 81, are my favorite performances with Brian Johnson 😍
I was at this tour 83’ FOTS…Portland Ore… ive said it many times pound for pound greatest power blues/Hard rock live all time. No one turns up the volume live like these guys & every amp they bring into an arena is lit! No dummy amps with this band!
I was here when I was 12 with my parents. This was fucking awesome! I seen them 6 years in a row starting with for those about to rock tour, no one like AC/DC imo the greatest rock band ever!

that solo before guns for hire is something that you cannot express with words. Absolutely magnificent. If I had only been there....
“We salute you all Detroit” gets me every time, and I’m not even from there. What a great way to end a show.
I was in 8th grade when this album came out. When my mom told me I couldn’t go to the concert I did what any 80s teen world do, I snuck out and went lol ⚡️🍻
This is phenomenal footage! Really shows what an incredible and life-changing event seeing AC/DC in their prime was. So much energy. They certainly changed my life when I saw them the first time (with Bon Scott) when I was 14 years old in 1979. I was lucky enough to see them twice with Bon and several more times with Brian. Never disappointed!
Wow i've never seen this before! So much energy, band on fire

Greatest hard rock band of all time 🐐
Damn it sounds so good. They play so well. So wicked to see Guns for hire live! Amazing. Wish both nights existed with every song. Nice job thanks!
God, I remember as a 13yo kid recording this of BBC on those old VCR's....i played it to death and accidentally recorded over it....not for 40+ years have I been able to see this again....mad, seeing all those faces in the crowd again....like I knew them from my past!
The promos for Detroit are produced extremely well, in fact they are the best produced 80's material we have outside of Largo '81. Glad to see you doing this gig as well!

Love hearing/seeing ""Flick of the Switch" tracks live. The success of "Back in Black" made everything that came after it pale in comparison, but I think FotS was one of the best albums of the Brian era, leaving the compressed gloss of the Mutt Lange albums behind and getting back to the raw, Vanda/Young production style. Too bad they pretty much abandoned playing any songs from that album altogether after this tour.

This was shown on "Late night in concert" in the UK and was my intro to the band..been a massive fan since 1983...
Congratulations!!! Well done!!! It looks so good!!!! LArgo 81, Detroit 83 &Rio 85 are my favourte ACDC concerts!!!
I knew this was on scheduled TV at the time in Britain on an arts TV show called Arena. The whole day at school planning my strategy to petition my parents to stay up late and watch it. From Guns for Hire to For Those About to Rock is was in Nirvana. Cross legged in front of a rented CRT with mono speakers. Blew me outta my tiny 13 year old skull. Was hooked before but this…. This was the cement that bonded me to this band for life. Thank you for uploading and I salute you 🔥🫡🤘

I saw them in 88 in Toronto ,old Maple Leaf Gardens & again for the Razors Edge Tour in 1991 @ the skydome., that was a great show for sure.
Love the energy Angus brought to the live shows ❤
В это время в ССССР было почти невозможно найти их пластинки, записи на бабинах передавались из рук в руки! Позже они загремели из моего касетника в автомобиле! For the first time watching concerts on KZread I can say, "Hey I was there!" A group of four of us were 5th row, and before the show started, my Lloyd was hit in the back with a knife that some idiot threw from somewhere. THANK GOD it hit flush, so it didn't stab him. It still left a bruise. We all still loved the show. Lloyd kept the knife as a reminder of how there are dangers everywhere.
Badass!!!!

Thank You, That brought back a lot of great memories.
I was there, the first or second concert I ever saw....the 70s bands were still going strong (Aerosmith, Kiss, etc.)...then glam hit the scene shortly thereafter (Motley, Ratt, Def)......pop (MJ, Madonna, anyone on MTV) was even good back then......God I miss the 80s!!!

83 Madison Square Garden i was 16 and saw them 15 more times after great show. The Flick of the switch is under rated album, but it is a very good one heavy sound. Brian Johnson did a good job back then still doing it at present, of course it's not easy to replace original singer somebody like Great Bon Scott . FASTWAY was the special guest check them out they are not around anymore.
Top of their game!!!
