As a man, I kept my composure when Judge Mathis read that transcript. As soon as he played the actual audio though I started crying. I couldn’t even imagine saying ANY of that to the Mother of my daughter. I don’t even wish death on an enemy of mine. Omg. I have five sisters and I’m the oldest of eight. If any man on this planet talked like that to any of my five sisters... I can’t even incriminate myself with what I’d do. Then on top of it, he was physically abusive too? Omg... Listen!!!!!! When he kept saying "get your brother". Whew. We would have had brothers, cousins, uncles, neighbors, classmates, best friends and the county coroner's office on standby.

As a DV survivor I feel for the defendant. It seems as though she is still in the midst of dealing with the residual effects of the abuse for choosing not to prosecute him for the abuse she endured. Those effects can last for years even with therapy. What may seem simple to some...like “why didn’t she press charges? Why didn’t she leave sooner?” etc are much harder choices to make as someone who has suffered years of psychological & emotional abuse, nevermind the physical. Abusers really break you ALLLLL the way down in every way. It’s awful. I pray that she continues to gain strength & confidence in her healing journey for her kids sake & for hers. It took me almost 5 years to muster up the courage & strength to leave. It’s far more difficult than a lot of folks realize. Prayers up for her & those kids. 🙏🏼🥺

Judge Mathis got his ass

I'm a domestic violence survivor. I got out of that bs 15 yrs and never got married after that. I'm not sure if I want to. I can't imagine how wicked it would have been to get away from him if we had gotten married. I would have ended up dying with secret blood on my hands. 😑

@@rosiebrooks7685 thank you, Rosie! 🤗🥰🥰🥰🥰 it hasn't been easy, but everyday, it's been worth it. Abusers always try and abuse, in some fashion, even from a distance, but for the sake of finding and keeping one's own self, it's definitely worth it: everyday.

This Cornwall has some nerve suing her. I wish she would have counter sued for 5k she would have won. I knew the judge wasn't going to give his clown ass a dime.

Happy with the judgment. However, she has a heart that let's him off for the sake of the child but she needs to have him prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. That will help and teach their child that this behavior is unacceptable by anyone. This is the kind of fool that could still harm you or your child or another woman in the future. Once a beater always a beater. And despite her forgiveness and no counter claim he has shown no remorse at all. Girl wake up.

The fact that he had the audacity to sue her knowing that she had plenty of evidence against him is crazy 😒! That dude is throwed off. I'm happy she got away from him, because this could have easily been worse than it was.

I love how at the end the officer is looking at him like he's crazy

Little does he know, he won't be getting custody of their child with all the evidence she brought today.

A judge would laugh in his face, and if they could, they would hold him in contempt for wasting his time

This was very brutal. My prayers go to her and her young children 😢

Why does he think he would EVER win custody over a child. He’s lucky to even get unsupervised visitation with his anger and abuse.

He'll be lucky if he gets supervised visits with all the evidence she has!

Abuse comes in all forms currently going through mental and emotionally abuse with child’s father it’s the worst feeling 😔

Get out sis. It is not worth it and the emptiness grows it never stops. It may even get to the point where you are so numbed you can't feel love anymore for anyone. It's not worth it I been there and grew up in it. For the sake of you and your children please leave because it impacts not only you but your children too. You deserve better.

Omg..this episode broke my heart.

I feel for her! I was in her shoes many years ago. The court gave me a few short term protection orders before giving me one for life. He violated them and ended up in prison. My 2 kids know who their dad is, remember how he treated me, but had other positive male family members to fill the void of not having a good father. I know how hard it can be to cut ties when you're in a DV relationship and I am so proud of her for getting away from him. Now, she needs to take it a step further because he is still dangerous, especially after losing this case.

By asking questions, the judge tells her what to do. He even helps her with an excuse for showing up at his work. And yet she doesn't understand the hints. So regrettable!

But you didn't mention the part where he also acknowledged that her way of thinking is normal for victims of abuse. Be more like him and have understanding, not weird judgement.

Biggest mistake she is making is by not pursuing charges against him! Bad mistake!

JM was waiting for a moment not to give him money! And I was too. Smh

He’s still being shady and tryna be cocky even in the end. Sir you not getting custody ok smh. Pray for her girl please have him locked up you can forgive but make sure u do what’s right
