    Years ago I was driving my husband's car. Stopped at a red light when a dude jumped the passenger side. Hubby's security baton was tucked next to the driver's seat. That dude took a crack upside his head and stumbled off. Such a fond memory.

    Once, decades ago, I got into a life or death struggle in the interior of my 1976 Cadillac with a 6'3" 250lb drunken stranger that opened my car door and got in the passenger seat of my car at a red light, completely out of the blue. When I told him to GTFO he proceeded to attack me. I had a nice steel baton that night, and credit it with saving my life. It was not a good night for him. Good video KP.

    Minor point. There is no need to wind up with a full swing with that baton. Just use your forearm and wrist to strike. It's quicker, there is no awkward recovery time if you miss, and it will be more than sufficient if you hit..

    During summer I like to carry my Ruger LCP or SW 642 in my pocket. If I'm traveling I put my 9mm in the glove box and take it inside when at the hotel for the night. With those and keeping up my situational awareness and I feel safe and keep my family safe. Nice baton, I have a mini one I use when running laps.

    I like the fact that it has a glass breaker, that’s an important thing to have in your car. My Microtech has a glass breaker but I rarely carry it simply because a double edge OTF just isn’t practical for much of anything.

    My wife and I recently had to drive from Barren County, KY to Providence County, Rhode Island and back. Because of the unfriendly anti-firearm states we had to drive through, we chose to leave our firearms in Kentucky. ( we hated having to do that ). So we went to Cabela's in Bowling Green, KY before we left for our trip and each bought a canister of Pepper Spray, and kept it on our person for the whole trip. I walk with the help of a cane, so I chose a really solid heavy duty cane ( I made it from a Sheep's Crook ) that wouldn't feel good across someone's teeth.

    You can never conceal, carry, stash or store too many weapons on or nearby you. I try to keep at minimum, two additional defensive tools on my person any time I leave home, on top of carrying a firearm. It's usually my carry gun, knife and a S&W defensive point "pen". I make sure the knife I carry can be quickly and easily, reached and deployed with one hand, in a stressful situation. Your other hand might be too busy defending your life to assist you in drawing that knife. I always try and tell my wife the same thing, along with getting her to practice one handed deployments (although she gets irritated with me for wanting her to practice it 😂).

    In some places, you can't have the collapsing kind. In that case, I'd recommend a fixed baton. Takes up more space, but is also more durable and usually a bit heavier.

    Hey Patriot, Great topic! Too often we focus on the lethal option. We must always meet force against us with the appropriate level of force. Often, that doesn't rise to lethal force. I've used collapsable batons since the mid nineties and taught my children in their use. We use the basic manual models by "ASP", but I'm always interested in the improvements available on the "old stand-bys". Perhaps you could demonstrate the "X-ing" or other techniques of implimenting this item, to your viewers who are new to this type of tool. Also, it may be helpful to demonstate collapsing this type of baton and the "dos and don'ts" of successful closure. Especially of a spring assisted device like yours. I am curious how it's done myself. Never to old to learn. Keep up the great work. God bless.

    I got into the habit of carrying a baton in my back pocket and got used to it real fast . After the riots of 2019-20 (Seattle) I just started carrying a good old hickory axe handle in my car because if I was outnumbered it's hefty enough to break legs . These guys were armored up and had shields , but they don't know how to actually fight and theres no armor on the side of legs . That reminds me I need a new baton because my last one got stuck in the open position. I was using it to clear a storm drain!

    I'm playing devil's advocate. Why not carry a gun or a backup/secondary gun instead of a baton? A baton is almost useless once distance has been closed. A knife or a gun can be used when grappling with someone but a baton is only useful at a very specific distance. Far enough to swing but close enough to hit.

  • @TheKentuckyPatriot

    @TheKentuckyPatriot

    Жыл бұрын

    When traveling we usually always carry two guns. In an instance when I can't carry like on my way to an airport or if I have my edc rig on but don't want to brandish a firearm I can get out of a car hold this in my hand for the just in case non lethal approach. In the even somone pulls a knife you will have the advantage. You will have a huge advantage over a knife with a baton. Both with range and striking points. You can basically hit them anywhere with this and end the problem. A knife is a little more target specific. Thanks for watching my friend :-)
