    I have a couple of cold steel canes. My history is about four surgeries on my knee and sometimes I'm good without a cane, but I'm trying to force myself to use it, because although I may start out leaving the house feeling fine it can change really quick, and I want to have it with me when that or if that does happen. Not even speaking to personal protection just Assistance in myown mobility.

    I have ordered from cane masters twice. I had very good luck but it did take a while. Perhaps because they don't make the canes until they are ordered. The quality of their product is great. I have 2 premium canes from them and two plain jane training canes. I am very pleased with all of them. I agree with your views on using canes as a self defense device.

  • @TheKentuckyPatriot

    @TheKentuckyPatriot

    Thanks, I really appreciate you watching. They do make them supposedly after ordering. If it takes 5-6 weeks, I wouldn't be upset with that. If that is the case they need to advertise 5-6 weeks instead telling you 3 weeks when you order it. There is no need in having you wait longer especially in my case after having surgery. The Cane is fantastic. I am extremely pleased with the quality. I have been in business over 20 years both as a manager and owner of business. If I say something I do my best to keep my word. I understand sometimes things happen. When they do just a simple call or email to say hey we are sorry something has come up. Your order unfortunately is going to be delayed. It is just good business :-)

  • @JimRibby

    I agree the best business model is to under promise and over deliver. Sounds like they fumbled the ball with you. I would also encourage your followers to consider getting one of their training cane as their first cane. They are relatively inexpensive and I found that when I was first working with a cane I dropped it a lot. It was nice not beating up the finish on the premium cane. Also it gave me a chance to see what I really wanted. My first cane was one inch. I found it was a bit too heavy and a bit too big for my hand size. So I bought a 7/8 inch and it felt great. I still use my one inchers but my 7/8 is my go to every day cane.

    My instructor used to do a demonstration with cane techniques appling Arnis principles. That cane you bought looks a bit more stout. Another thing about groin strikes is the tendency to either catch the stick either between the legs or by hand. I think keeping 2 hands on it like a spear and jabbing with the rubber end would be my thoughts.

  • @TheKentuckyPatriot

    @TheKentuckyPatriot

    They have training canes that are stout but much less expensive used specifically for the dojo. That way if it gets beat up or scared it won't matter as much if you didn't spend a lot on it and don't plan on carrying it in public. I really appreciate you watching and sharing your experiences. 🙂

    I've got a reinforced, full size umbrella and hiking poles for this purpose as well. And even if you don't take something like this on a plane, many European countries have hiking trails and sell walking sticks. Even if you give it away and leave it behind, they aren't that expensive.

    I recently had to start using a walking cane and I did initially get one of the simple ones at Walgreens I think. But I immediately decided I wanted one that could be used defensively, so I built my own cane. It looks like a professionally made cane and there is nothing to indicate it is anything other than a cane. There is nothing hidden in it or anything, it is just a cane, but it is not as light as those aluminum canes, it will hurt you if I hit you with it.👍 Did not realize this option was out there.🤷‍♂ Good information.

    I have a pretty decent background in Silat and Filipino martial arts . Along with the pop/poke techniques , IDEALLY I want a cane, staff, baton or sap that's heavy and strong enough to break bones . So it's good to either watch demo vids or do your own testing so you know what your capability is . If you go up high and they try to block you want that arm to break . I practice going to the legs myself because it's very hard for the average person to move them out of the way . Never count on pain working , it's amazing what a human body can endure . it's funny you mentioned John Creese because in 35 years of training , Iv'e never come across a more encompassing philosophy than The Quicksilver Method! " Can't stand , can't fight. Can't see, can't fight. Can't breathe, can't fight. " Hope you and your family had a nice Easter sunday and you feel fast .
