Definitely WorseHelp. They often lack the resource, experience and expertise to handle anything like an actual disorder, they also cannot diagnose or prescribe medication, they cannot give referrals for specialists either. That means you're basically just talking to a counselor that the government can probably provide to you for free, who is local and knows what's available to you. At most they can combat loneliness and mild grief, or similar. And even so, there's been so many horror stories from clients and therapists alike, that it vastly outweighs the good. Please seek a referral from a doctor instead. They do NOT have your best interest in mind.

Pressure treated wood is made the same way, by putting the wood in a low pressure tank and then admitting the treatment liquid and allowing air pressure to push it into the pores.

They have a type of asphalt and cement that water can drain thru so theirs no standing puddles so people don't have to drive or walk thru. Gallons of water within seconds just drains thru. That's the type of roads and sidewalks we need up here in the great PNW with all the fall & winter rain.
The other time i was wondering what would happen if you tried to quantum lock multiple superconductors above the same big magnet - would superconductors move towards each other? Lock independently? Influence each other if one of them was wiggled around? Extend the reach of the magnetic field further away from the magnet as they repel it? I would really love to see more experiments with multiple superconductors in a bigger and more complex magnetic fields
Omg man the easily avoided mess was a hard watch

Previous video. I think it was a short from Action Labs. Cool video, and I think less than two weeks ago.
Would like to have seen you weight the chalk before/after the vacuum/water portion, and then maybe expand a little on how much water was taken into the chalk in each.
How much is precentage weight difference with dry and vacuumed wet block?
I’ve been seeing this in KZread shorts lately it’s mesmerizing
Swear it's like I'm getting the same recommendations as him, few days ago saw one short about spaghetti breaking, 2 days later he makes one. Saw that spaghetti shooting one, then he makes one. Saw a gym chalk vid like 3 days ago, he makes one. Not to mention the vsauce short.
Bro I can’t with those noises you added lmao
Can you make it soak all the way in without a vacuum chamber? Just put the block in the water with its top side sticking outside the water. I could not see a change in the water level in the vacuum chamber. You should have marked the water level before sucking the air and once again after you let the air back in.
I went "It has to be a carbonate compound" and it is!!. All my CHEMISTRY classes didn't go to waste afterall
Reminds me of my sharpening stone for my kitchen knives. Always more water you can douse it with
Today, I learned how industrial pickles are made
You trully are a genius my friend!
thank u science daddy
Another fascinating video.
Did you use the Ferro fluid chalk to hold the normal chalk in the vacuum chamber?
Can you completely permeate a piece of chalk with ferro fluid and use it for a transformer, coil, or motor core? Also, would permeating that chalk with ferro-fluid and aluminum powder make a bright and hot thermite? (Could you weld with it, with an oxygen flame pouring out a one-way valve?)
You should drop a chunk into as much ferrofluid as it takes until it stops absorbing and calculate how much it absorbed by both weight and volume.
i remember using this mechanic when eating goldfish, i would make a vacuum seal around the goldfish with my mouth, then let spit back in and the goldfish absorb it instantly

That liquid chalk thing could be good for gyms and climbing gyms for reducing the mess from chalk. Well after reading a few comments it seems it is already a thing.
I wonder if you increase the surface area by drilling some spirals through the interior would increase the rate that it sucks up the water under normal pressure
What if we used this somehow to help with energy storage solutions? How efficient could we pull water uphill with the help of thirsty materials and vacuums? Is there any chance we could make the system somewhat passive to use less energy vs. straight pumping the water directly?
This and similar stuff is also used to store liquid nitrogen to make cryogenic transport containers that pose no danger when tipping over, wgich is a must for, for example, transport by air. A colleague of mine in our research group is researching it's absorption and evaporation behaviour with LN2 for his PhD, incorporation with Air Liquide.
@WouterVerbruggen
5 ай бұрын
You can also use these kinds of materials to make vibration free pumps, but using the gas absorption dependence on temperature. Research on this is also done in our group, in the context of vibration free cryogenic cooling, in projects with ESA and soon in the Einstein Telescope Pathfinder.
you just defined the difference of Adsorption and absorption ..excellent
That’s how I feel when I use lotion. I just know it’s there. Thanks for the video, sir.
An interesting experiment would be to put a miniature remote control drone or helicopter in the vacuum chamber and see how long it will last at full throttle before the battery runs out, then compare that to how long it takes for the battery to run out at full throttle when you’re holding it on a table outside the vacuum chamber. Obviously it won’t fly inside the vacuum but it would be cool to see if the lack of aerodynamic resistance on the propellers would have any effect on how hard the drone has to work.
you didn't need to spill when you invert the liquid container. just use a piece of paper or foil and remove once inverted.
That was a good one.
Lmao, so you can flip bottle without spilling by using rotational momentum more when you flip them. Lmao the fero fluid clip was hilarious 😂
I wonder what the material properties of magnesium carbonate chalk would be like if you filled it with resin instead of water in a vaccuum. I'm sure there would be a thinner layer because of the viscosity, but it might be useful. Maybe for carving.
@johnd7564
5 ай бұрын
Interesting idea. What if you fully infused it with liquid resin in vacuum as in the last example, then quickly mixed it with unchalked resin. Could you get a cool swirl visual, or maybe a really interesting texture once it cured?
thanks for the tip on how to quickly make pickles.
They sell blocks of these at home hardware in Canada, advertised as a fire starter that never goes away It can sit in a multi thousand degree bonfire after being used to start it, and then next day while shoveling out all the ashes, you run into this inexplicably cube shaped structure in the ash Since it soaks alcohol and oils, that means it can serve as a wick for them and burn with them, with alcohol I had a small block burn for like 20 minutes straight, recovered it next day Pretty cool stuff, always wondered what they were and this must be it
The capacity for sucking up oil makes me think this would be very useful in dealing with spillages
Could you use centrifugal force to get the water out?
Is there a video on the instant pickles? I want to see that.
I've always wondered what happens if you heat one side of a stick of chalk or some other water absorbing substance. If the whole thing wants to absorb water, but one side is hot and trying to evaporate, will the water wick from the cold to the hot side and evaporate, like a "diode for water"? If not, what about if you use a deliquescent?
Should have weighed the two cubes at the end to show how much more aware is in the vacuumed one.
Bro busted out the Burly™ paper towels
5:41 Wait, you totally buried the lead! Instant vacuum pickles! I’m sold.
Thank you ❤
