A Simple Trick To Handle Cravings (And Lose Inches!)

While sleep and emotional health are primary, a lot of problems can also be managed by improving the way we eat. And there is one technique that thousands of people across are following ever since I start speaking about it and it's working brilliantly well for them. That is - hunger. Hunger doesn't always have to be seen in a negative light. Practicing hunger with an intention is therapeutic. In this video, I share more about the same, and how you can safely integrate it into your lifestyle to handle cravings, food habits, and your weight in turn.

love the WAIT 10 minutes bit. A lot of times, the body needs hydration and the signal can be confused with hunger. It's not always a dry parched throat...I usually top up with water...

If you are hungry then you must eat … If you drink water when hungry, all digestive juices will get dissolved which is reducing the digestive capability.

Nice input Luke. I can correlate to what you are saying. Body gets adapted to what we train it. In fact reading the autobiography of Victor Franklin we understand the same.. In the concentration camps they were given just two bread slices in a day, still they survived without any problem for several months. When I started eating less than what I used to eat earlier - I was perfectly alright, in fact feeling more rejuvenated and active. However, felt I was losing muscle mass and then adjusted my quantities again.

Okay, I just asked you a question on a different video- with a lot of explanation of why- and now I feel like I have gotten the answer here. This is what I was planning on doing in the first place, just waiting until I was sure I was hungry - however long that takes- and then eating and doing that again, and again, until my body is in better repair and has settled into its own pattern. But, there is so much advice out there on why that should not be done and I wanted to know more before starting. So, thank you.

The most astonishing thing about quitting sugar is there are no sugar cravings even if you had a terrible sweet tooth.

On a side note, I also started just not eating once it was dark Ior whenever I finished eating before then) and also not drinking anything after dark, and waiting to drink and eat in the morning until I felt ready to do so, and I am sititng here at 11:36 a.m., a few days in, having just dranken some water, feeling my cheekbones becoming more pronounced as the fat is leaving the area and the skin is drawing up. My body does that. I mean, it will so suddenly lose or gain weight that I can often feel it happening and the area it is doing it in the most. It's quite fascinating, but not a very good topic of conversation as, apparently, either most people's bodies do it different OR they notice it less.

Is it ok not to have food if not hungry even if diabetic? For diabetics they say that we need to eat at same time everyday.

Sorry but I am a bit confused, you always tell that you have to eat daily at same time so when it's a lunch time and I don't feel hungry, i should wait for 10 mins and if I don't feel hungry then should I skip my meal, won't that cause imbalances in my body function

Hi Luke, i have been watching your videos regularly as much as i can, just had a query , if we eat only when we are hungry, then how does 1 follow an intermittent fasting . Like for an example, i eat my dinner daily by 7.30 pm and most of the times ,in the mornings till 10.30 am, am not hungry but i do want my cup of tea, which forces me to then to break my fast at 1030 am with a fruit , followed by tea.

Isn't this completely contrary to eating with the circadian cycle, the benefits of intermittent fasting ,keeping disciplined meal hours ,keeping our metabolism up or even something simple as eating by sunset, all of which have proven health and weight-loss benefits .

Just have some water and don't eat. You will realize in the morning that you are still not hungry. Eating in the night is the worst thing we do to our bodies. 👍

There's not really a wrong time i feel. However it's true to try not eat at the time specified by you. The body is the priority over food. We need to take care of our body and not time. Now having said that, you can also make adjustments to eat the right kind of food according to the time. Most of the time the hunger like this strikes because of lack of bad scheduling of food or quantity of food earlier before feeling hungry late night. So, we can do 2 things. 1) This is more like a last minute hack to quickly resolve hunger by eating not that heavy but nutritious food. Maybe a vegetable curry, not dals or legumes, non acidic fruits can also work. 2) Working on the food cycle for the next day by eating right kind of food on right time and avoiding the situations od getting hungry late in the night

Initially for a couple of weeks you will need to be strong and stay away from food at all cost when it's not the time you decided to eat. Gradually your body and mind will adapt to the new routine and then it becomes much easier. In my case when i felt i am hungry and didn't eat anything then i felt some nausea, deep emptiness in stomach and sometimes even mild abdominal cramps (no real cramps but it feels like it) but as time went by i could keep better control without having to fight with the situation. Most of the time our hunger is not real. Our brain sends wrong signals of hunger bcoz brain gets wrong signals from our cells. It will take a month or two to overcome this faulty mechanism, till that time be strong. You can do it.
