Awesome! And tell me. If you're not a welderererer... If I grinded 4 small slices down the length of the flex pipe, mid inserted distance.. if I got an exhaust strap, this would do the exact same job? Super tight, no leaks? Thanks for this video.

One thing that Ford has done right, possibly Chrysler also....they have better exhaust pipes than years ago. Havnt had a burnt out exhaust pipe or muffler in almost 30 years.

Since that threaded stud doesn’t turn using the hyd. ram there’s no reason to grease that bearing..

hey mopar great vid, i have the astro kit and i got a nut punch hydraulic took kit off ebay but i think the thread size is different...was yours exactly the same thread size and pitch?

Yes exactly the same thread and pitch there seems to be newer kits being made now that have different threads best to buy the expander and go to store and check threads.

Same problem here. Ram has 3/4" with fine threads. Punch set has 3/4" with coarse threads. I now have $150 ineffective tools...

Alternative plan. Drill 3/4" inch hole in the exhaust spreader mandril and buy 3/4" fine thread bolt at hardware store; total cost about $16. but no delay

no it was regular steel but it will work on stainless but will take a little longer to do.

The Astro pipe expander kit was 78835 and the hft hydraulic punch driver kit was item # 96718... Before buying the harbor freight kit check to make sure the forcing screw is the same thread as the Astros kit they have gotten wise to this hack and some have different threads in the hft kit.
