A Packrafting Expedition - Kayak Camping Wilson Creek pt 3

Фильм және анимация

Sometimes, you have to do something against the flow. Sometimes you must leave behind the traditional parameters and safeguards. It was time for something unsanctioned. Join us on our packrafting expedition that covers the entire length of the Wilson Creek in North Carolina. Our journey begins on high on the peaks of Grandfather Mountain where we lose a team member, hike into the night and find a terrific camp. We pick up the source of the Wilson Creek on the South face of Calloway Peak and then follow the river by foot until it becomes floatable by raft. We continue the journey down the river through the Class IV gorge section and beyond. Come enjoy some kayak camping in the form of packrafting! Find us at riverkingpete.com Thanks to Gatewood Brown for joining us on the adventure and lending his talents / @gatewoodbrown Thanks to Alpacka for the packrafts www.alpackaraft.com/rafting/
Much thanks to my friend Jason Lowe for the use of his amazing music. Jason is an authentic talent that has been carving out a career in music for over 12 years. The musical field is a grind for artists that refuse to bend to the digitization and commercialized distortion of their art. Yet he persists! If you enjoyed his music, please show Jason some love and support at www.jasonlowe.bandcamp.com.

Keep the premiere feature, it adds anticipation. - I know nothing of hiking, kayaking or you guys personally, but you don't seem to let life get in the way of your activities and there's something admirable about that. New Subscriber, all the way from Liverpool, United Kingdom.

Thanks Mountain Streams! We absolutely enjoyed Mortimer. We spent a little over an hour hanging on their front porch eating and holding down the chairs. I've gotten to know the crew there over the years. It is a fun little spot. But the river was calling!

We all want one now! They are definitely a tool that will allow you to do some things not possible in a hard shell. On the down side, I cannot get the high end whitewater performance out of them like in my whitewater boat. However, they are nothing BUT fun!! It is akin to tubing on steroids for adults! SO much fun!

How satisfying it must have been to blow up those rafts and get wet! I’ve driven that road that parallels the creek several times but what a different perspective with a paddle in your hands.

Awesome stuff Pete. I guess if I was on this trip that i would still be Bushwhacking as at 6'3" I would still be stuck under some limb fighting those paddles! Just finished the series(I watched the last one first. ) You make me want to get a white water kayak or raft! all my stuff has been is canoes with 1's 2's and and the rare 3 . I have run Weldon Falls in an open canoe and made it several times but I have swam a few times there as well!! anyway great stuff and the 2 thumbs downs we need to find those yahoos whack em with the paddles!
