I tried to make one using pvc, thinking it would bend instead of breaking. Unfortunately, pvc isn't stiff enough to hold an action camera lol. Definitely going to be making one of these. Thank you for sharing pete!

Safe travels! I know the feeling although I’ve gotten lately where I don’t like driving more than an hour for a boat… Which is why I made my stepson go on a six hour round-trip drive to go get a mad river canoe for me a couple months ago lol… I did pay him for his time at least 😂 Well can’t wait to see this boat, Pete!

Nice video Pete, good mix of solid advice and sense. in a calm manner. Looks like a nice river for mere mortals rather than the terrorizing water you see on some videos. Great work, keep it up !

Sorry I missed it! Love DIY stuff. This one leaves me with a question though. Why did you build this one differently than the one on Nana? Just to build it (I would do it for the sake of doing it too!) or does it give an advantage over the Ram Mount on Nana?

So much good information in your videos. I literally had a panic attack just watching Bonnie (I think was her name) flip over. I honestly have zero interest in paddling rapids, but I am trying to be prepared for unexpected things I may encounter on a river. Thank you for making these!

Hey Pete, great video! I'll have to give that a try. I'm experimenting with different mounts and cameras (should probably make the videos to prove it) and I was wondering if you've tried using 360 camera with that mount. I bet it would give you some great footage. Out of idle curiosity, does that mount pose any danger with preventing a roll in a sort of shallow situation or is it so short that you wouldn't be able to roll anyway? I dont yet have the skills to do white water, I am just wondering. I saw you rolling in the beginning of the video, so it looks like theres no interference for a normal situation. Keep up the great work!

Cool, thanks for sharing. The boom mount is contected to the grab bar similar to a spigot insulatation box that uses the spigot as an anchor (you tighten it so that it is tight to the house - similar to tightening the hook on a kayak)

Great ideas as always, thanks. Helmets are also sensible if there are low branches or low bridges. Easy to get a nasty cut or scratch on your head or loose a fabric hat. Saws come in handy for branch clearance but also pose hazards of cuts or kick back of tensioned branches or loss/entrapment of the saw. How to safely cut your way past fallen trees from a kayak/canoe/sot/paddle board might be a good subject for a video?
