Adventure Awaits: Unforgettable Kayak Camping Experience

Спорт

Come along for an unforgettable kayak camping experience! Mother Nature forced a change of plans. That change of plans provided an experience like no other. Four friends, four boats and four days. Starting on the Northeast Cape Fear River, down through Wilmington, onward to our paradise island camp and ultimately to Masonboro Island. This was four fantastic days of kayak exploration and kayak camping.

It's a shame I can only give one Like! About open water kayaking - I tried last summer on the baltic sea, starting in best summer conditions. The two of us, idiots as we are, went way to far out to see porpoises, as the wearher turned very quick. Me in the Prijon Yukon, my friend in an early 70th slalom kayak... 😆 We made it back only because the wind was blowing the right direction, surfing soft 2 - 3 foot waves (wich was fun actually), but I hope I'll never have to paddle in rain and wind like that! The Yukon did great, my friend had to fight like crazy. Oh, - we didn't find a single porpoise btw, but we found a restaurant and a monster burger on a big campround at the beach. Learned an important lesson that day!

That sunset was unreal! And right after such a soft, beautiful sunrise. That touches heart and soul. Good decision when wind and waves picked up. The mean thing is when you need to follow a specific direction and wind and waves won't let you. Then, you have to start zigzagging around to get to the shore. Well, you went with the flow and were gifted with an epic adventure.

Adventure: "an unusual and exciting, typically hazardous, experience or activity." Id say this video is the video definition of adventure! Paddling amongst the ocean liners will be one of my greatest memories of my Mississippi trip! They really put things in perspective when you are in your little kayak. Enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing!
